Ha a jeweled Lacerta and leopard gecko are my only two pet lizards. While I can handle them both the gecko's better but the lacerta is bigger and more fun and active so it all depends really, good video keep up the good work.

for the jewelled lecerta i live in that small little line on the French Atlantic coast lol just inside the the area and we do get a lot of them here, fun to watch them running around, there very fast, it can reach 100F to 108F in august

Jewelled lacerta live throughout Spain and very common in Murcia and Almeria which are arid desert environment while Galicia is like Washington state with high rainfall. This would make me wonder about your humidity numbers.

Hello, i know im kinda late, but better late than never, right :) Im Portuguese, one of the countries where jewelled lacertas are from. Basically get the same setup for your jewelled lacertas, as you would for a bearded dragon. Summers here get days to about 40ºc (104ºf) with no rain for weeks on end. So you need a desert uvb, and low/medium humidity is preferable, not high humidity. (Its the second day of spring here, and the humidity outside during the day was about 37%, during night gets a little higher) Get the hotspot to 90~95f, with night drop. In the winter they hibernate, but if you keep the temperatures year around, they stay awake as other pets do. And you probably dont need to worry about wild caught specimens, they are very rare in the wild and no issues with poaching for pet trade. Almost all specimens you see avaiable must be captive bred, either legally or illegally. Hope this helps! :D

I think the only turn off from the Lacerta is the size of enclosure needed, at least for beginners. My family would have never allowed me to get my first reptile if I told them it needed an enclosure that big.

My house gets to 75% so jeweler lacerta is better for me.
