Maybe they wanted to separate the classic Castlevanias and the Metroidvanias? I'd prefer the latter having their own collection than lumping only one or two in with the old style Castlevania games.
I am disappointed by this collection. 1) Mainly because it is missing two great games from the 80s and early 90s: - Vampire Killer on MSX2 - Akumajō Dracula on X68000 Not to include them is to erase them from the Castlevania history. Especially since they are well less known in the West. 2) No Rondo of Blood (PCE): while I understand Konami’s rational here (already in Castlevania Requiem), it is still a pity. Same: why no Dracula X (SNES)? 3) no japanese versions (with FAR better music): i know they are coming. But when? I am still waiting. Basically I feel it would have been easy to add 4/5 extra games. To not include them in a collection meant to preserve and present this serie is akin to rewriting history.
