Hello! I need to say thank you. Years ago, when I was in probably 1st or 2nd grade in elementary school I started watching you, every video, every single time you uploaded. Eventually I got bored of Minecraft so that sadly faded. occasionally I would come back to Minecraft and every time I would check your channel and would always get a spark of happiness to see you're still uploading regularly. You truthfully shaped my entire future and I wouldn't change a single thing. From your videos where you utilized computer craft I formed a love for coding, From that I now have 4-5 years of experience in python (I didn't like Lua lol) and a bunch of other experience in other languages. Thank you so much I love your videos, keep it up!
fun fact- drones can entity import players, meaning with the right program you could make a drone based flight system very early game that only use air pressure to run. also the shrink device works on drones and makes for some silly visuals
holy cow, this mod keeps blowing my mind. that interface, the ability to program using drag and drop. you literally made cow abducting drones, any mod which can do that is 100% awesome
I saw it coming that the killing drone would target the abducting drone, but I also considered it possible that it'd target Dire and am sad that it didn't before he caught the need to filter on just targeting animals. 😁
For the breeding drone I would add a filter/condition to only breed when there are at least two breedable cows in the area (since you need two adults to make a baby cow) and then breed both those cows. Because now it seems that it is trying to breed the cows even if there only is one cow that is breedable.
if PCR, has the option for It i'd go , Start, IF entity(age=adult) and entity(=>2) in area (x,y,z), pick up(wheat) in (x,yz), feed entity in (x,y,z), put down(wheat) in (x,y,x) and have the move drone, Start, If Entity(=>3) in area(x,y,z), move entity (age=child) to (x,y,z), it might be buggy, i haven't got to pneumaticraft yet, i keep getting distracted, but hopefully it will stop accidental pick ups of adults and starting on an condition should stop the drone doing the pick up, put down infinite-ish loop
it wouldn't be too complicated, and I could totally see Dire making a drone attack program that monitors the area of his base for Wandering Traders, Llamas, and Endermen, kills them, gets their loot, and deposits it in an Ender Chest, so he doesn't have to worry anymore about killing them himself! Dire automates all the things, and this should be a thing he'd want to automate! 😊👍
You could probably do this in a lot of ways. But I'm imagining a tiny machine filled with drones that has a fully self sufficient output of cooked meat. No input of any kind, just an e chest to dump the output in. And a swarm of drones, all with different tasks. Farm for fuel to create pressure and cook the beef. Some to farm wheat for food, others to separate the children. The slaughter drones that you worry about revolting. A few for moving items around too. That just sounds like a hoot.
I’m gonna build this but I’m gonna put the pens on opposite sides of the base so they can’t see their friends die. There will be legends of the flying monster that takes their friends to a better place. Plus I wanna see cows fly across the base
I would've made the kill drone put the collected drops into a separate chest to use as a buffer to port into your mass storage and have a dedicated sword chest
Not entirely sure why Dire didn't move the child animals, instead of risking losing all breeding animals from his first pen. It feels like that would make more sense and require less logic. Then just have the attack drone attack adult cows instead of children. Or, alternatively, have the "moving cow" drone just kill any excess adult cows, then you only need one pen, and one less entity with custom logic
@@joeblandd6425 Ideally youd have three pens (breeding pairs, young and to be slaughtered) and one move drone that can do a move baby to pen 2 from 1 and move adult to 3 from 2 and then a kill drone, it would lower the idle time of the move drone and make sure that no baby cow is hurt, but personally i'd use a different mod for the killing so i don't have to deal with replacing swords
@@MrTrilbe true enough, could go with the fans and crusher he uses in his current setup, but the point of the build is to showcase what can be done with the drones, rather than the best way to get beef and leather. In my own world, I've got an Ars Nouveau farm set up, so I only need one of each animal. It's also providing me with ender pearls, dimlets and info, and skeleton, creeper and zombie drops. The plan is to capture a ghast and bring it back to base as well, eventually
@@joeblandd6425 it would be interesting if you can set up a sorting system for animals spawned by blessed earth... side note you need to shrink a ghast and put it in a bottle... because funny
I'm not sure if it would impact performance but the fact that the drones are cycling between pick up seeds and deposit seeds / pick up sword and deposit sword when they dont have anything else to do bother's me slightly. You'd have to probably use condition pieces a lot more. (condition: do I have spaces that need to plant? Yes: pick up seeds, plant, deposit seeds) I believe the harvest crops and pick up items have their own built in conditions that you can simply cycle through (Condition: Are there @animals in specified area? Yes: pick up sword, kill all animals (edge case, needs to kill ALL animals before moving on), deposit sword back in chest) collecting items and depositing them have their own built in conditions. Again my concern is the fact the the drones are constantly updating the item inventories of the drones and chests all the time.
Left click in area and then pick up would be better, if it simulates a player left click since there's mods in that allow left click harvest without breaking the plant, then he can import any seeds without a keep in stock
The abductor drone should have a condition to only take cows that are not breedable. So you don't accidentally run out of cows because the breeder is too slow.
You should put your pickup and dropoff food surrounding the feed them instead of picking up and dropping off weather its needed or not. IE do your main ckeck for action, then do everything for that action. You could also loop within the action. So "If Wheat = breakable, loop and Break all. Then if wheat on ground, pick up wheat until there's none on the ground."
I've done it and it was fun actually dire is only scratch the surface of what the mod can do I've seen my brother make a drone taxi service you would dial a location click the call button and a drone would teleport puck you up and teleport you to where you wanted to go A restaurant using Pam's that server fresh crafted food ran by drones and stocked by pne logistic network attached to a drone farm A brewery where you could have a drone brew you what ever potion you wanted You can even use drones as wireless Redstone and Redstone logic gates And soo much more that I can't even wrap my head around its such a great mod that I feel like really deserve more credit
Super cool drones BTW if you ever want to play with the new lategame Botania (runes and alfmetal etc) you should increase your mana storage since you neeed A LOT of Mana for that (each alf Ingot 2 full pools)
hey direwolf is there a way to report bugs in the modpack my friends and i have run into a few and some that are game breaking if you dont know how to fix it
I'm also running a server to play on with friends and there are a few things that outright crash the server for example. Others are aggravating conflicts between modpacks. Also FPS are absolutely abysmal once you have a few different bases with a lot of machines and stuff but I guess that's not something that is easily fixable. Optifine alleviates this somewhat but it takes forever to start the game with it. Server is going fine so far but I also have an Intel 12100 which has high single thread rating.
We use minetogether and half the time that doesn't work and you have to fight it to which is understandable we ran into a game breaking bug where you uncraft something made with a enchanted book and it gives back a enchanted book with no enchant and it completely crashes and you have to go in files and manually delete the book out of that players inventory the sophisticated backpack deletes items if you click middle mouse key to fast and if you use the red super storage cells it let's you go over the limit and the just deletes everything you add after if you don't realize it's full
@@gamingdemon9776 thanks for the info on the bug with super storage, I was about to craft one of those. There is also more bugs with AE2, the most impactful being items getting stuck in the return inventories of the pattern providers. Though I am not sure of that isn't just a general AE2 bug. My buddy also disconnected when you threw him a chisels and bits tool and putting that tool into the AE2 system via an import bus also crashed the server. Abother bug is that the ender shelf to store enchantments doesn't let you take them out after putting them in. When you right click the shelf with a book that book just gets placed on the ground. Turning placeable books off doesn't fix that behaviour, it just leads to nothing happening when you right click the ender shelf with a book.
For that sword the drone is using I would put on damage enhancing, durability, and see if mending would work also, I saw experience orbs drop out when it killed the cows, that way it would kill faster and would need to replace the sword less often. Any way for the drone to check durability left on the sword? That way it could stop using it before it destroyed it.
For the mending, does the XP need to be picked up by the sword holder to be applied to the sword? If so, the question then becomes whether or not there's a programming instruction for collecting XP. (If there is an XP collecting instruction, maybe also collect the XP from the breeding pen.)
You can filter most every thing and set conditions you can even set the drone to craft a new sword every time it runs threw 1 not sure about mending thought they can't seem to pick up Xp But say you use tinkers sword you can set the drone condition to repair with sharpening kit after a set durability is lost (might need inventory upgrade)
@@slartimus there is indeed: an entity import piece with a filter of @orb. Imported orbs will be used to repair any carried item with mending, and excess xp is stored as memory essence in the drone's tank.

Pure crystal is massive over kill and didn't even notice that in the video it's like watching some 1 use a 100$ bill to buy a drink in a vending machine :P
@@markdatton1348 so obscure that no one updated the documentation for that option for 3 revisions and it contains an error, that's been fixed but it's on a random forum or reddit post that isn't linked too on the documentation page
@@markdatton1348 I haven't had this issue in the last month and a bit... honest... well it was an error in the install docs that messed up software install because they didn't update the links to the gpg keys so it messed up a linux install... not salty at all
