For reference: the LD50 dose for short exposure is 4-5 Sv. On top of Dire's reactor, it's almost 100Sv/h. That means you get a potentially lethal dose by standing there for 3 minutes. LD50 is Lethal Dose 50%. 50% of people receiving that does are expected to die. "Minor incident" indeed
@@pinaz993 Also, radiation damage from Mekanism scales logarithmically with the amount of radiation the entity is exposed to at higher levels (past a few sieverts). In other words, a zombie would die from radiation poisoning at a thousand sieverts in approximately the same time frame it takes for an Iron Golem to die from radiation poisoning at a trillion sieverts.
Dire forgot about the reactor needing to be only day when he slept through the day to hunt rftools slimes... I wonder why he doesn't build it in the end because it's always day.
As of v10 Solar Neutron Activator doesn't work in the end, so you'll end up pumping waste from the end(if that's even possible, maybe with tesseracts) and it'll still pollute chucks whilst it's being processed.
Yeah you do mekanism reactors every time. It'll be more interesting to see extreme reactors since its been so long, despite it being pretty similar to the Mekanism (or it was, a long time ago).
The maximum conversion is 2.000 mB Polonium converted to 2 mB of Antimatter per Tick. The energy input needed for this is 800 MFE/t. Additional Energy input will increase the energy consumption, but not the production of antimatter, therefor is not recommended. A maximum of 400 MFE/t can be inserted per SPS Port, therefor 2 Ports are needed for energy at most, but 1 is sufficent in most cases.
mannnn i thought i was the only one that messed up their reactor that bad, i was testing it and apparently there was not enough water so she heated up quick, actaully kinda exploded lost some of the reactor blocks and some pipes that were around it but yea the whole like 5 chunk radius and a radioactive zone now that needs a suit to enter, but i fixed it up and shes running strong now lol just gotta remember to throw on the hazmat suit when going over there ...uhhhhhh is the turbine supposed to have that much steam in it?
(Modded)Minecraft has sorely missed a way to just make sponges for far too long. I'd say make 1 sponge by making the slime block out of 9 slime balls, then surround that by wool to get a sponge. maybe make it only yellow wool for shiggles. Have it default to making a wet sponge.
The problem with extreme reactors is that they output pittance of RF compared to mekanism, but Dire already know this since tomorrow’s video was made a month ago😂😂😂😂😂. I even set the config to 5x and the best you are going to do is like 40K RF/T. Just sayin. . .
Do the mekanism fission reactor, would love to see you try and automate that. It can generate BILLIONS of RF in a single burst, and if you tweak them right can be completely self sustaining for several hundred thousand rf/tick.
Was funny to see at the end when dire said, yhe we got 4k uranium, but next to it was 11k Ores so you could use your constructor/deconstructor setup u made with the silk tutch card in your basement a few episodes ago
20:39 you can have as many as you want, but you only need one. a single one will gobble up whatever energy you give it. multiple coils are really just for aesthetic purposes.
I would like to see you implement the highest ore processing chain in mekanism as well. It's rarely done and would be a challenge with the uranium4dayz xD (Maybe not needed but fun)
I have an idea for a handheld gadget in which you can put other handheld gadgets, and then you can just select the one you need, sorta like the book that holds other books. Feel free to steal.
ER to my knowledge is very resource heavy for the build but you can get much more efficient fuel usage if you use the turbines if you had sustainable water resource and don't build the best efficient ER max size reactor ( what I mean by that you don't need to build fully filled reactor to gain the max steam I/O for the turbines )
Extreme Reactors won't really be able to keep up with Mekanism - unless you pump steam from ER to a Mek Turbine maybe? (not sure if that actually works or not, haven't tried it lol)
you can use the coolant ports from ER and smush the reactor and turbine ports for the max flow ( be sure to set the ports correctly using the wrench, red to red and blue to blue ) but for inserting the water for initial startup you'll need somekind of water source ( sink ) and somekind fast fluid transporter
I've tried it, and failed miserably. ER reactor produces liquid Steam (old, standard representation of steam from Railcraft days), and Mekanism turbine consumes mekanism's own gaseous Steam. Overall, ER performs poorly compared to Mek's fission reactor setup. Comparable setups (in build costs, building effort, size) resulted for me for example: ~25 kRF/t for ER and 1.14 MRF/t for Mekanism. Another downside for ER is that it's turbine accepts only up to 2000 mB of fluid Steam per tick whatever size you build it, giving beforementioned ~25 kRF/t. If you have a large reactor, you either need to build several (idk, 8-16, maybe even more) turbines to accommodate for it's full throttle steam production, or either throttle that reactor down significantly, defeating the whole purpose of building it. ER needs to have more powerful turbines (at least to remove that stupid limit of 2000 mB/t entirely).
well - as I prefer Immersive Engineering as my base mod an beeing used to its balancing - to me Mekanism is one of those stupidly over-op mods that a mod beeing just op gets a new meaning questions remains: if it takes such effort to get antimatter - what is it used for? is it like ic2 the get high tech armor and weapons? or is there another mechanic / sub-tree to go even beyond this level of stupidly over-op? at some point to me it just loses its fun value when numbers get close to or even exceed 64 bit long type
antimatter is used for some of the top Mek armour/tool mods (teleportation/creative flight) and can be used to convert a few items into different items
Well this is the last progression you can do in mekanism. With antimatter you can get a flight module to be installed in the meka-suit (The ic2 high tech armour in this mod). Using antiprotonic nucleosynthesizer You can get something that's very hard to come by like heart of the sea from nether star. Enchanted golden apple from golden apple. A trident (which I didn't remember what item is is you need to convert) and other thing. That's said you can get like 64 enchanted golden apple or more as you wish as long as you have antimatter. For me it's worth the effort. The item given is little bit too op not gonna lie. But this is end game of mekanism anyway.
@@archcraft1548 well, for me Meka is quite too much IE goes about regular ore doubling IC2 was around 2x-3x range meka goes all the way up to 5x when maxing out all the stuff as the upgrades scale rather steep to keep up so does the generation and storage the "issue" for me is this: instead of require going big as in multiple multi-block structures in a big factory most can be done in a single chunk when stacked vertical ... that's just not my playstyle although I have a long history with ic2 and buildcraft and AE/2 since IE got big I rather fell in love with it and had quite a nice factory in my last map I also don't like stuff like time in a bottle tick accel - I guess it just comes down to personal preference
@@cryptearth Ahh I see. You doesn't really like single magic block that you just need to put everything in it and it will process all of them for you. Personally, I sometimes also didn't like it either. As example the wither killer, I don't like killing wither in old fashion way using IF mob crusher. I do however really like the setup dire did for killing wither in the previous season. It just satisfying that you put a lot of effort into something and seeing the wither bar melting off rather than completely gone from existence.
@@cryptearth As for time in the bottle. It's really useful. But if you keep abusing it. It kinda make you lazy and just stick for unupgraded machine until the end of the pack. If someone want to use it. Just use it but don't forget to upgrade the machine still.
