Also, love the channel. The DM discussion at the end of the video is quite insightful. This series has really inspired me to run a more low power campaign compared to the crazy crud I am running right now. My players seem to love it, but it never really fit the ideal D&D campaign I envisioned where death matters and combat feels heavy! Thank you for this series!

In the fight with the Horned Devil, couldn't he have dashed with his hasted action to gain flanking?? Make 6 attacks at advantage? Or maybe your table doesn't use the optional flanking rules. Nevermind, ignore me.

As it's an optional rule, we don't use flanking in this game. Many games do, and in those cases, it's a great way to take advantage of those high mobility buffs. Players should be careful in multi-enemy encounters because it's easy for that to get turned on them.

@@d20tactics Hi, thank you for the reply. I have been dming for a group of friends for almost two years now. It is interesting to see the difference in power, especially regarding magical items. Could you please give a brief overview to the character creation you and your friends used? Is it just RAW, or do you have specific homebrew rules you implement during character creation.

@@LEdungeonmaster These are the characters from the starter set. We try to stick as close to Rules as Written as possible. For loot, the players get the "average" based on their tier, as described in the Dungeon Master's Guide. The numbers aren't spelled out, but it's a relatively straight forward probability problem. For Magic Items, I give them one permanent item and one consumable item every other level, alternating. The Rarity is based on tier, so less powerful Uncommons at Tier 1, better Uncommons at Tier 2, Rares at Tier 3, and Very Rares at Tier 4. They can purchase things from the previous tier, 500gp for permanent Uncommons, 5000 gp for permanent Rares, 150-250 for consumable uncommons, and 1500-2500 for consumable rares
