Lexus 2is Android Head Unit Review! | Pros and Cons 

There is an app that shows the ac controls. I have the exact same headunit but i changed how the app icons look. The app is called car settings or something like that with a picture of a sports car. You can change your defrost settings on it. And for the AC controls to show you need to go to settings, factory, 3368, and there is an option that says canbox then you have to chose lz(hz), toyota, lexus is. Also i dont have the steering wheel volume problem. Only problem i have is the fitment i have an 09 and my skip and rewind buttons on the steering wheel is reversed. If you need anymore help let me know! I figured out how to use this headunit.

If you're going to go through the expense and hassle of swapping your oem head unit, I suggest opting for a reverse camera setup option. They are about $20 and well worth it imo. Not only for the safety aspects, this also integrates more modern tech into your car and imo seeing a clear reverse path on this screen is pretty impressive. I've seen mention of apps to help integrate AC/oem functions, but there are also ECU/OBD connections which will bring TMPS and way more like tuner functions as well 👀 This option is not for the novice technical types. Either do your research or hire a tuner tech who also is audio savvy to set this up properly.

This is the best interior mod. Only people that care about cars will notice carbon fiber touches and such. Everyone can enjoy the convenience of new infotainment

I've got this same unit, but with newer Android version 13. Having three issues: No sounds from rear speakers. Figuring i might need to supply a powet trigger for the factory amp? No radio stations come in- reading that i may need to apply a power trigger for the powered antenna. Can't figure out how to change the color of the button lights on the left side of the screen. They cycle through the entire RGB range.

Check the canbus and make sure to plug in as much things as possible . You should get full functionality as if it came from factory.

Check out the Beat-Sonic SLX-140L double din dash kit. It replaces the cd player for a stereo screen

Does the cd player still work with this unit? If so how.

Another alternative for the Android head unit is the scosche head unit.. comes with all the HVAC controls like factory and also apple and Android auto.

Hey Chris, different topic but it applies to your car. I know you can swap the cluster from a 2013 isf but is the lfa style cluster from a 2014 isf compatible with the 2is. I haven't found anything of relevance but the overall shape looks to be the same

Can you replace the CD player for more storage space? I won't use the CD player at all, and it seems like you could use way better that real state for something else, in my case I prefer storage, but haven't found anyone that has done it so far

Hey Christian, I was thinking about getting this for my IS however I live in Canada where it gets up to -40 for winter, do you think these would hold up well in that type of cold?

@Christian Mastrile I have the same radio bro. Mekede right? So for the AC you have to go to apps > Car Info > A/C control. You will be able to select defroster there. If it doesn't work then you have to go into the advanced menu and mess with the canbus settings. For the sound, what you are hearing is car's original radio and it sort gets the audio out of sync so to speak. To fix it, go to the car info app again, then go to car radio (that's the radio on the bottom), then back out. That will disable the radio for as long as you don't disconnect the battery. Once you do that, the sound will sync up and the volume controls will work as they should. If the Car info apk is missing let me know, I'll see if I can dump it from my radio and post it here. hey there!! i’m having this issue right now.. my apple car play will play my music for about 20 seconds then completely mute itself until i press a button on the stock radio to active it to turn back on. any answers on how i can fix this??

Did you ever figure out how to get the rear window defrost to work ? I got the front one working but with winter coming I need the rear

Looks nice and seems to work well, but WOW does it nerf the climate control system, doh!🙈 In most climates front and rear defrost arent really an option for safe driving, and if your car is equipped with heated side mirrors it would also be nice to have that function as well.

Sounds like either a bad purchase and/or a bad install, TBH. If most of the controls don't work, would have been cheaper to just buy a bluetooth adapter.
