This is why hockey needs a mercy rule. To protect Steve. We’ll call it Steve’s law. “If a team goes up by 4 goals against the leafs the game will automatically finish and the remainder of the program will be Guided meditation”
@@Nesqwikz Oh for sure, but I think the difference with them is that they're kind of expected to be bad with how different the roster is this year. The leafs are relatively the same with the exception of Zach Hyman
@@Lancer212 Matthews and Marner got 1 goal combined, worth like 20 Mill and the only people who seem to care is Campbell and Spezza 🥲. But don’t worry Marner says he “isn’t concerned”
It’s unfortunate Mike Sullivan has NEVER been a top 3 candidate for the Jack Adams, and they won the division last year when everyone said the Penguins would miss. He’s unbelievable and deserves recognition.
@@Pensfan5919 he's shown up great in playoffs at least twice, the reason fans have doubts is because he piled minutes on Jack Johnson, a legitimate contender for worst Penguin ever.
I agree. His first season with us, he came in mid season to a team that wasn’t looking good under Johnston and turned it around in just a couple games. And then won the cup that season. And the next. Amazing!
@@Pensfan5919 People think he doesn't show up in the playoffs?? What people??? Lol What kind of bizarre shit you talking about?? What people don't know that he's won two SC's?? I think I would call that "showing up" Lol 🥴 And I'm a Caps fan and I think he's one of the best coaches in the league.
@@stellaroj You must be a young'un. I'm old enough to remember the pre-Mario Penguins. Johnson wasn't good, but he was miles from "worst Penguin ever."
Well the Leafs being the Leafs, they'll put up more stinkers soon enough and even if this video is in the top 10, it will get eventually get knocked out of the top 10 or 20.
If anyone was wondering why Mike Sullivan was named as head coach of the Mens Olympic team, this is exactly why! The level of confidence he instills in his players is unbeatable!
**record scratch** "Carey Price is Georges Vezina himself--that one might actually be right." Steve, even if this team can't make you smile anymore, for what it's worth, you make me smile. Appreciate all your hard work. 🙌
I have been a Leafs fan for the better part of 30 years. When It's my Time, I wish for someone to Contact The Leafs and request them as Pallbearers. This way, My Team can let me down one last time!!
It sucks to get beaten that bad by the 4th line of the NHL team backed up by mostly AHL regulars lol way to get crushed leafs nation I can't wait to see the Canucks cut you down in December in Vancouver.
My girlfriend (also a Leafs fan) and I were at the game. My first hockey game ever. The Wave went around the whole arena a little more than 4 times before it died out.
As a Penguins fan, damn I kinda feel bad for y’all Leafs fans. Like I was obviously happy the Pens won but I couldn’t stop thinking about how it looked like the Leafs weren’t even trying. As Leafs fans thats really gotta hurt watching your team play like they don’t care
Smiling on the bench going into the third, down 5-1. Keefe yelling at the refs, when its the team taking stupid penalties. Its a CULTURE thing, it always has been. This is what happens when you pay people who have done nothing, when you enable the players and they've earned nothing. This is what happens when a GM tried to relive his Soo greyhounds time. All I'm curious about this year is, which of the core four are getting traded, and when is Dubas losing his job?
@Ty Block Yes, this is the time to rebuild. They could get probably 3 first round picks from like Arizona for Mathews, and Marner could be traded anywhere for probably 2, trade him to fucking Buffalo. Those are going to be good draft picks. I bet you they lose Mathews for nothing a few years from now.
@@Oldmanflyfishing I've been saying this for years. You never give prospects big contracts when they have nothing to show for it. I said this back in 2019, Dubas was not the right person to be picked as a GM. The Leafs should have kept Lou. Because of Dubas inexperience, he was not able to negotiate favorable contracts. You can't run a franchise when 4 players take up 40% of the salary cap and expect to have defense, solid goalie and depth. The core were given big contracts, the never developed a work ethic, and killer instinct to rise when the stakes are higher. I think it is about time that Dubas, Shanny get shown the door. And I'm totally fine with trading Matthews, Marner, Tavares. I would rather have a roster that has mediocre talent, but has an iron horse work etic and ups their games when the stakes are higher.
@@alzallas2302 me too. I know you can’t win every game but I want a player that gives 100% ever shift. One that will lay a check as much as take one. You know it says something when Nylander has more hits then Matthews and Marner combined
@@Oldmanflyfishing I agree!! M and M don't care a squat. And to listen to JT mumble away as usual after the game"yeah we have to be better" yeah right!! Once Lou left this was going to be the Leafs trajectory. Dubas has ruined this team. The stupid Leafs upper brass suits in the ivory tower are to blame. They let Lou leave hired Dubas and here we are. This team cannot be recovered. The Leafs cannot appraise talent. End of story.
I'm not losing any more years. Last year's playoffs killed it for me. I feel like it's back to the mid 2000s when I stopped caring. 15 years of patience and heartache I'm only going to tune in if we get past the first round.
Last night I was laughing my ass off at the Leafs. I’m a Party Hard Pittsburgh Penguins fan. At the same time, I watched the Braves make it to the World Series and I still couldn’t stop smiling. Laughing at the Dodgers and the Leafs. Go Pens! Go Braves!
Honestly, I started watching by being one of those schmucks that only came along once a year on the bad loss, but now I'm like addicted to all your vids, including the wins, and its inspired me to make my own Bruins flavored version of LFR. So thank you, Mr. Dangle for being an inspiration in my life. i mean hahahahhaha leafs screamy man go boom
Me: "Well I'm really tired and it's time to go to bed." *Steve Dangle posts the LFR to tonight's 7-1 Maple Leafs disaster* Me: "Sleep will be waiting for me." *presses play*
Thank you Steve for supporting people with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities! Please get this damn organization in the right direction! Your voice is empowering!
A major shake up is needed, and as much as I like the person, the player wearing #16 hasn’t shown up. Moving him at a loss will be a gain for the team.
Matthews and Nylander, the only two I would want to keep. Unfortunately, the only way that happens is if we keep the max amount of salary on both Tavares and Marner contracts. All we can do now is hope they can be motivated and if it takes firing the coach, firing the gm, firing the president.. I say do it. We need an old school coach who isn't afraid to bench every single player on this team if they aren't willing to work and listen to how they are told to play.
@@thetallestpenguin7921 I don't know.. I can't even think of anyone still alive that could do what needs to be done to the psyche of this team. I just know change needs to happen.
Lmao this is amazing. As an Oilers fan who understands this kind of pain but isn't currently going through it, it's lovely to watch from a distance. 🍿 Dangle makes me laugh in videos like this.
Lol, it truly is amazing. I’m no Laffs or Oilers fan, and my team, the lowly habs, ain’t doing very good at all, but at least we’re not toronto🤣 I love coming hear and listening to Steve rant after a brutal Laffs loss, it just makes me smile. 😁
Steve, your face at 8:21 is utterly fantastic! That game was so very hard to watch. I want to see Spezza snap on one of the superstars and tell them to take their head out of their ass.
I remember when the Leafs had Kessel, Phaneuf and Clarkson and the fact they're still embarrassing themselves and their fans in the same way with all this talent they have now is hilarious
@Rich Casino Kessel is still the analytical equivalent of a donut. He scores goals, but those are empty-calorie goals. He's not as good in the other two thirds of the ice.
Marner, Matthews and Ritchie (combined stats): 15 GP - 0 G - 1 A - 1 PTS - - - $25,043,250 Jason Spezza: 06 GP - 3 G - 1 A - 4 PTS - - - $750,000 Zach Hyman: 05 GP - 5 G - 1 A - 6 PTS - - - $5,500,000 These Toronto Maple Leafs will NEVER even win a round, let alone a Stanley Cup... hell, I think they'll be out of the playoffs the next 3 seasons. *_FIRE SHANAHAN - FIRE DUBAS - BLOW THIS TEAM UP NOW_*
Lol literally there top three say they wanna win well guess what can’t win when you rake the team over the coals with your contracts that are undeserving in my opinion kinda need hardware or something to justify the raise
I watched The Leafs win the cup for my 1st time in 64, and again in 67.I'm sad that I'll never feel that excitement again ,what's even sadder is that there are now so many that will never feel it at all ,because this core will never achieve a final.
The Leafs quit. They quit. Dubas and the Leafs gave money to guys who have supreme talent, that means guys like Zach Hyman and Connor Brown who aren't as talented but work hard get forced out. Toronto does not work hard. They do not have heart. They quit when things get hard
Meanwhile Oilers fans: Every single one of us were in 100% agreement with the Hyman signing from the moment it was announced and there was not a single second of doubt put upon Ken Holland.
@@TheLeafs2000 he traded for Barrie primarily. And he only went for Barrie because kadri declined trading himself to Calgary for t.j. Brodie, whom we got anyway..
Toronto has this amazing ability to push Boston to a Game 7 in the playoffs, yet somehow turn around and play like a lottery team when facing an AHL team. Toronto always plays down to their competition. Literally always.
I'm a Pens fan, and a Steve fan.. this game made me feel extremely conflicted.. There always seems to be one epic loss a season for Steve to react to..
The way this team's keeps playing it's gonna be alot of epic loss videos for Steve this year and trust me this is coming from a leafs fan that has watched every game this year and is a passionate as Steve is about them ooooff Maron
I live in Finland and I am Penguins fan. But god damn it I want to give Steve a huge hug... There really isn't any excuses for Toronto to lose this game this bad
Friendly reminder: this was a nationally broadcast game After Montreal ousted the Leafs last year in the playoffs you were wondering if you could even keep doing LFR. I think you should’ve listened to that voice in your head
I visit you when the Leafs win, too...but mostly to see Iggy. Donated to Easter Seals. At least I could give you a little bit of happiness. Yinz Leaf fans deserve better. But always remember...we Pittsburgh fans still have the Pirates. We get it.
Hilarious vid, Steve. I can’t vent like that so it’s nice that you can for me. Definitely coming back after a bad Leaf loss, as you mentioned. Go Leafs!
The amount of time, money and loyalty I've put into this team for 30 straight years is exhausting. I'm actually embarrassed to be a fan of this franchise
@@DominicGibbs I didn't say anything about him being better in Edmonton, just Toronto is missing his presence. Besides, it's not like he hasn't been playing with Matthews & Marner
I truly believe that the sundin era was the last time we had competitors on this team. Since then something has changed with the mentality of the team. I'm not sure if we just sign less competitive players or is it because of the Toronto market making players into celebrities. What ever it is, these players are way too comfortable losing and losing bad. I can't even stand losing in a video game. They do not have a winner mentality in that dressing room because if they did you would be seeing a fight after every shot on net after it was 4-1. Sadly I don't think change is around the corner. You can fire the GM, fire the coach but the mentality will always be the same. You can't teach work ethics and heart. You can't teach being competitive. They rarely win games by working hard. Most of their wins come down on pure skill and when the skilled guys don't show up, you have nights like this. It took just 6 games for me to miss Zach Hyman.
I’ll happily admit i watch more loss videos then win videos. For the hardcore fans it’s cathartic, but for the casual observer (like me), you are very energetic and entertaining when they lose. The B2B Cup champs are 2-2-1. It’s early and being a fan of ANY team can be painful.
Hi Steve. I'm a Pens fan, but I've been watching your videos, win or lose for the last 3 years or so, as soon as I saw the final of this game ( didn't watch because I was at the Pittsburgh Riverhounds game) I knew this LFR was going to be something like this. Im sorry that my team put you in this mood tonight. Also doing The Wave is a Pittsburgh sports thing. It happens at every Pittsburgh sports game at some point
I’m not trying to be rude, but I have to disagree. I’ve been to dozens of Pens games in Pittsburgh, and can’t recall The Wave happening more than a couple times.
@@mattdowney5461 Things may have changed then because when I had season tickets from 2005-2009 it was always going on, or at least people were trying to start it. Some games it caught on, some it didn't
As an SDP listener and Penguins fan my ears always perk up when you guys mention them. That said when I saw who was NOT playing for the Pens tonight I was more concerned about Steve than my team loosing. Pens loose that game no one says boo... but it's the leafs so you know they would find a way to blow it against the WBS Baby Penguins and friends that were in the line up. Ps. It was 13 cup rings missing from the line up.
