It worked for me. It does help to have small lady hands. I actually did it twice because the first time I inadvertently used silver colored polypropylene duct tape and then had to rip it out to replace with foil tape. What I discovered is that if you use the foil tape that comes with a liner it is much easier to apply the tape. By just folding back about a half inch of the liner on one end of the tape, I was able to position the end of the tape exactly where I wanted it before peeling off the remainder of the liner. With this technique I was able to tape both ends of the elbow and I am very pleased with the resulting assembly.

Worked as advertised. But, if you have large hands/arms, it could be challenging to do this through the vent holes.

how does exhaust heat and lint materials not creep thought the joints that are not screwed or secured with HVAC tape?

I installed this yesterday on a new LG DLE7150W to vent to the right. Straightforward except for taping the joints, which was challenging due to tight spaces, wires, and large hands.

Is there a dryer kit compatible with the WKGX201HBA washtower?

I have a couple of questions. I have a LG DLE3400W. 1) does this kit work with this model ? 2) The video seems so simple, except taping the Duct A and elbow. Is it really possible to tape the two all without having to unusable the electric dryer ? 3) Also, do I really need to side vent the dryer? While my wall duct is on the side, it is located near the back. So imagine I positioned the dryer to the final desired location. The wall duct would be located near the bottom left corner of the dryer. In this scenario, would it be really be necessary to side vent the dryer?

Just to clarify....is this done without removing either the back, top or side panels of the dryer? Other videos I see show the dryer being taken apart and drum removed. I would rather not be doing that to my brand new dryer. Thanks!

How in the world did you remove the knock out with a few taps? It's solidly on there. I can't get it to budge at all.

the DLGX4081 is listed as three way vent. This is a gas model. Does that mean i can vent to any side?

I just installed this. The new pipes were a bit loose, so we'll see how much lint collects at the bottom of the dryer after it's been used a bit. The cover you're supposed to put over the original rear exit didn't fit properly either (screw hole did not line up when the bottom tabs were fully inserted) so I just taped it on. Tip for the tape, first of all, no, "duct tape" is not what you want. You want the tape that's foil-backed, for HVAC use. Second, using several smaller pieces overlapped will make the process easier, rather than trying to get one long strip in without it getting mangled and stuck to itself. For the price of the kit and the poor manufacturing tolerances I experienced, I am disappointed with LG and will be considering other brands next time I need to purchase an appliance.

So the side vend on the right side (electric only) does not pop out easy but if you put your screwdriver were the little attachments are and give it a couple knocks it will come out. The taping I found the hardest part and I have small hands and arms but if you do it in small pieces it can be done. Is it for holding the arm in place or sealing the pipe connection or both because it is not necessary on the last piece? I wore long sleaves but still got a minor cut on my wrist, more of a scratch. Will see how she goes;)

I want to buy a studio wash tower and have it vent to the left is that not possible?

At minute 2:15 is the duct tape only supposed to go down one side and around the end to hold the elbow to duct A with the tape also going around where the elbow and the duct A meet or is that only if the unit is to be vented down out of the bottom?

This is so simplified. I found the job impossible. The duct tape does not magically animate in two nice strips. The final side vent pipe does not simply easily slide over the pipe inside, which, BTW, you can't see in real life. I am hiring a pro.

0:56 Anybody else have a hard time with the knockout? I dented the hell out of my new dryer and then had to drill holes and cut it out. The video shows 3 taps with a hammer. What a joke.

Lg leaves no way to work on anything. I would never buy another lg anything, there is no reason to not leave an access door.
