Man, the entire time i was hoping they'd find the dog's owner. That dog was so sweet the entire time.. not mad just playfull. i hope the dog was eventually reunited with his owner.

In Brazil, whenever a kid is lost everyone at the beach around the child just starts clapping until the parents know where the child is and they can go to the exact location their child is, and I think that should be universal!

I've seen people doing that on theme parks as well (not huge ones like Disney of course), and it actually worked because we automatically know that if a group of people are clapping (which they normally also communicate that there's a lost child) means we need to stay silent or go join them so the parents can get to their child!

I really appreciate how they handled the lost man. As someone who's autistic, disabled people are usually treated like children, especially when alone like that. It's just really nice to see how they treat him with respect and make small talk while they wait.

They know there's no consequences. The local ice dealers in our neighbourhood ride electric scooters up and down the street all hours of the day. They get arrested and they're out the next day

@@matthewcullen1298Well todays a different story, this is back in 2008 which at least had a decent punishment for theft. Nowadays you could get arrested 50 times for theft and still be granted bail / bond.

One of the main things that lifeguards learn is that drowning people will often try to push you under in a panic to stay above. That poor kid, I was hoping he didn't inhale water. I can understand the man's reaction but he didn't even say sorry or recognize the kid or anything.

I was a lifeguard BUT for a small water park and STILL parents thought it was a “babysitting service.” I can’t imagine thinking that at a beach, w/ unpredictable waves, and unpredictable patrons.

I learned a really good piece of advice recently. If you lose sight of your child in a crowd, instead of yelling their name, because kids ignore their parents sometimes.. yell their description, what they were wearing, height, hair color,etc. if you give them the description immediately, usually your child will be found much faster because they have the tools to help.( plus if someone's yelling anything people are already looking around..)

FOUR? 😠 At the beach, where she could go into the water and drown, a stranger could lead her away, where anything could happen… you leave a 4 year old to go walk? When my family goes to the beach (and it’s not a large one, nor the ocean) our eyes at all times are on our kids. We both (parents) constantly talk to each other about where our kids are, and monitor. They go with us if we walk. They go with us if they use the bathroom, we don’t allow them to go alone. My kids are 10, 8 and 7. I can’t imagine not watching a very young child at a massive beach with no supervision.

I think it’s different because some Asian parents ( my dad is Chinese) do leave their children alone because it’s safe in certain Asian countries to let your kids go out on their own at that age. But like my dad wasn’t like that though he was really scared something would happen to us kids. And my mom who’s white didn’t play them games and she’d count each child , along with makes us stay within two arms length of her

They want to go in the water to swim. I used to ask someone close by if they could watch my things. Others would ask me the same. My things were never stolen. I look back and think the person I asked could have been a thief. But I always had good luck.

It is so brave being a thief knowing full well that at any moment you could spend about 2 minutes in custody and every 10th arrest get your probation extended. I'm sure the fact that thieves are treated so kindly and face zero repercussions has nothing to due with why there are so many thieves. . .smh. . .

I understand we all want to still believe in our fellow man to not take something that is not yours ( which is usually the case) but there are always going to be the bad apples in the bunch. These life guard’s should only have focus on a few things, but mainly saving lives!! Here they are having to be babysitters, security, psychologist,… the list goes on. Everyone should use the lockers and have separate undercover theft control and crowd supervision. These life guards have a seriously taxing job along with long hours, including the weight of the world on them. This beach is no joke!! No wonder they snap sometimes I would ? The stupidity of some people is just embarrassing to human kind I know this first hand working in a similar environment. These men and women are doing a spectacular job and they deserve to be recognized and treated with honors. Just think? In one day 235 people could have drown? They are amazing!! Angels 👼 sit on there shoulders. God bless all you !!
