At like 217lbs. 20 lbs of progress in 4.5 years lol. And I was only 204 back at 585. One of my training partners from back then got 600 in September and that really inspired me to get back into it. 1rm went from a low of 560 to 605 on these few months. He's also quite a bit younger so he was always weaker.
@@DrTopLiftDPT that's not too bad of progress...sometimes it is slow and sometimes very fast for different reasons. You could always hit a spurt where one lift blows up in a short block. 620 next 😁👌🏻
@@silatguyfor sure. Thanks. I haven't peaked at all properly and this week got 510,345,605 deads and squats were prs and bench was up 25 lbs from where it has been recently
@@DrTopLiftDPT no worries. Keep up the hard work👍🏻 always remember you move the weight the weight don't move you. keep that Foundation strong💪🏼. I really need to get back into that Regiment and mindset and workout. Had a work injury that caused me to have an umbilical hernia, but after surgery and recovery. Found it difficult to do anything properly there was always a tugging feeling, that feeling definitely gone now🙏🏻 need to get back into working out properly again. Was really into calisthenics always had a lot of respect for heavy lifters. Good foundation and dedication with the right mindset and positivity I can take you to new limits. Remember you move the weight the weight don't move you!. Have a good day 👊🏻.
@@dionbritten5777 try to massage and stretch that area. Gradually work up to some dragon flags and ab wheel rollouts. I do calisthenics too on rings etc ru-vid.com/group/PLOGLBq3CGg1pb1CKd943f0podkKHXzKod I did 3 muscle ups on rings no Kip at over 200 lbs and a 10 second human flag
@@DrTopLiftDPT oh definitely do that. And the Rings are brilliant have a set myself starting off with a plastic rings then went straight to wooden rings better grip and felt so much nicer in the hands I think everyone should have a set of rings in their workout routine. Grateful stability and brilliant for building up those micro strands to give you a stronger muscle. I'll definitely start stretching and massaging and get back into it properly. Thank you for that motivation push much respect ✊🏻I'll give that link a check👍🏻
very excited 😍. My 515 just flew up. So I was confident with the 605. Didn’t realize it looked that shakey. Was it hitching? I was excited then bummed that it might be called hitching. all the rules i read it seems like NO. all i need is shoes to be legal now.
It’s an amazing lift but an iffy call for a PL judge. I think they would hit you for ramping but you will have that worked out by next attempt. I hope to hit that weight by mid year. Be proud
Yea I was reading ipf rules even tho I don’t plan on ever competing. “(blue) Failure to assume an upright position with the knees locked at the commencement and at the completion of the lift. . Double bouncing or more than one recovery attempt at the bottom of the lift or any downward movement during the ascent. 2. (blue) Any downward movement of the whole of the bar in the course of being pressed out. Failure to press the bar to straight arms length elbows locked at the completion of the lift. 2. (blue) Any downward movement of the bar before it reaches the final position. If the bar settles as the shoulders come back this should not be reason to disqualify the lift. Supporting the bar on the thighs during the performance of the lift. If the bar edges up the thighs but is not supported, this is not reason for disqualification.”
Bar can stop as long as it’s not supported on the thighs. The bar never stopped for me. Never heard that ramping term. Not in the ipf rules. Thanks man
Deficit and snatch deads were helpful to get to 585. Last few months mainly been doing Romanians and squat variations like ssb squats. Some 3x5 Lots of 3x3-4 reps Often AMRAP on last set Last few months doing only about 1 leg/dead/ squat day only every 5-10 days for more recovery
@@DrTopLiftDPT thanks Im headed out the door right now to go fishing but will definitely take a look at it later when I get the chance. What do you think about the Bulgarian style method of training? Does it work?
