Instead of blending the water with the opaque objects using a fixed weight, I use both the depth and angle of incidence to figure out the weight. This is very low cost on the GPU, as no volumetric raymarching is used. It has no problems rendering at 4K60.

Very cool. Reading your about page reminds me of the From Dust game, I would look up so many videos of people playing the final sandbox level of that game, creating massive lava and water structures. There still hasn't been an evolution beyond that game and powder toy imo.

Very cool! Would love to see how it looks in a less abstract setting. Like instead of jelly cubes a simple beach scene or something.

you could add some sort of distance culling to geometry to get rid of those polygons that pop up right in front of the viewfinder when it's submerged, or just add a box without colliders that stays pinned to the camera when underwater and has the water material applied to it.

Hi bro, your work is impressive and I love it. What do you use to do all these things? (I want to learn about voxel physics game development but I don't know where to start), any recommendations?

Looking forward to seeing the demo. Are you also going to open source the code at the same time?

will it be possible to change gravity in your game?
@GrantKot

Yeah, I think the force stuff and gravity changing is one of the main things a 3d simulation allows for. Otherwise you can achieve very good results with shallow water simulation/height-fields. It might also be cool to rotate the whole world around.

I am working on releasing a demo end of the month. Still some optimization work to be done for low spec machines, and some additional features for high end to bring over.
