Remember when we all thought Isshin was just a joke character until we learned he was a Shinigami?

That last scene where isshin is telling ichigo how much he loved his mom and how beautiful she was made me literally cry dude, finally being able to see them together on the big screen really after so many years really hit home man i love this show it will forever be my favorite🩶/🖤

Interesting how isshin saved masaki in the spiritual inner world from the hollow while masaki saved isshin in the physical world from the hollow. It’s one of those interesting things you notice that makes a scene more interesting then it already is.

Isshin is such a badass. He gave up being not only a captain but a Soul Reaper and his power without any hesitation just to save a woman who could have potentially been an enemy. His character doesn’t get enough credit.

I am amazed at how incredible this storytelling is, this whole Arc is so masterfully told that i am stunned at how beautiful it is.

Isshin is voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa, who also voiced Minato - you can hear more of Minato's voice in young Isshin. Toshiyuki is the king of anime dads.

Looking at them, you really see who gets what from who, looks-wise in the Kurosaki family. Yuzu looks more like Masaki, Karin is almost the spitting image of Isshin, but female, and Ichigo gets a bit from both. He's got Isshin's eye and jaw shape, and more of Masaki's nose and mouth shape. *SPOILERS* And at the end of the series in the future as a grown adult, Ichigo starts to look a bit more like Isshin did during his time as a Captain, but with orange hair.

Kinda wish the rest of the conversation from the manga had been kept, but perhaps it makes sense that they couldn't get away with that much.

i always like Urahara's face behind the fan expression, also the Shiba clan must have some innate calling to be rebellious, informal and or meddlers because that's what makes them awesome if they know something is wrong they go punch it or their friends in the face, and Rukia learned from Kaien hence why she does the shiba kick or fist to the head

THEORY: I think Ichigo knows getsuga tenshou > because white learned it from Isshin > to support this the first time getsuga tenshou is used it’s while white is in control > Also we know knowledge & power/skill is shared between white & Ichigo, evidence when white informs Ichigo he learned bankai the same time Ichigo did. Isshin never taught Ichigo nor has Ichigo seen the move > But white did see getsuga tenshou > I think potentially Ichigo may have been able to use whatever ability white could mimic but coincidentally or as far as we know getsuga tenshou is the last move white saw and it was a move from a captain class shinigami so when white spawned in a soul reapers body (Ichigo) he used the first move he knew.

My guess is that Yhwach(Zangetsu)/White were not the actual Ichigo's Asauchi, so they impromptuly named Ichigo's technique as Getsuga

Idk if this is a hot take, but I really don’t like that Isshin also has a getsuga tensho. It’s a move that has specific significance to Ichigo, since when Byakuya defeats Renji in soul society, he says that “his fangs couldn’t reach him”. Getsuga Tensho translated is roughy “the fang that pierces the heavens”, symbolizing that Ichigo after learning it finally has the fangs to pierce Byakuya. Isshin having it originally just kind of takes away from that imo. It’s like Minato having the rasengan before Naruto, but without the significance.

Can someone please tell me how both of them know Getsuga Tensho ? I think they’re the only two in all of bleach who use that move and I think this is the first time we see isshin use it

Aren't all zanpakuto unique? And his is fire based? Why can he use getsuga or why can ichigo than if he used it first I'm so confused

Ichigo has a better father son relationship with Aizen than Isshin, who kept everything about him secret nigh FOREVER while doing nothing about his training. While Aizen went from "ryoka no shonen" to "Kurosaki Ichigo" and was 100x better help to Ichigo at the end of TYBW than Isshin. Also we can attribute all of Ichigo's character development to Aizen, who provided literally everything that made Ichigo grow up, unlike Isshin. If you think about it, the whole saving Orihime from Las Noches was all about Aizen watching Ichigo grow. Orihime was never in danger, neither was Ichigo during that whole time if you think about it. Aizen even chose Stark as the kidnapper, the most relatable espada while choosing Ulquiorra as the guardian, the most challenging yet reliable espada. Ichigo beat no5 espada barely so no4 would have been the true challange for him, hence the choice, except he turned out op..
