Shunsui couldn't activate his bankai here because it would kill everyone else including his own team. His bankai is beyond OP. Him becoming head captain was not by mistake

For a natural arrancar, Starrk did a good job fighting Kyurako for as long as he did after fighting Rose and Love. Starrk was able to play along with the shikai abilities of Kyurako's zanpakuto but everyone knows he will lose. It's just sad for a character like Starrk who created his own company to fill his loneliness dies alone

People may harp on Starkk a lot but honestly, he went against 4 captains, in which 2 were vizards, and was holding his own

I wish Kyōraku and Starrk teamed up and had their own spin off series

I felt bad for him, he didn’t really want to fight and was really lonely, if any of the arrancar deserved to live I felt it should be him.

This dude is spamming cero like crazy and extremely fast, intelligent and calm. Having unlimited reitsu 😂. He is the strongest espada.

This isn't uncut, but it covers a lot of the fight and is pretty high quality. Most others I've seen tend to drop the Love/Rose portion. Kudos 👍

Whoever animated this episode downplayed the intensity of the fight tremendously. Starrk’s ceros look so ineffective and so does the slashes of shunsui.

People get hung up on how the animation here isnt as flashy as the Grimjow vs Ichigo or Icho vs Ulquora fight is but Shunsui sliving a ressurecion primera espada's cero with just his shikai is a crazy feat and shows just how much stronger he is than all the other captains. This fight may not be as "cool" but it the two strongest fighters for each side (besides aizen and gin and tosen) feeljng each other out and having the experience to just do what is necessary to win instead of waste a lot of wnergy. This is a chess match.

One of the most beautiful things about these really good animes is they always end up making you care about the "bad guys". Starks death ended up being a tragedy, not a victory.

Starkk… the *ONLY* natural vasto lorde arrancar, held his own against two of the oldest current captains, washed two vizzard ex-captains and never went all out as far as we know. Someone please tell me why he gets downplayed and disrespected by “fans”.

Starrk and Lilinette seem like parallels of Kenpachi and Yachiru.

It’s no accident kyoraku and ukitake wound up facing stark they are the wisest captains with the most experience next to unohana and old man yamamoto

Starrk embodies loneliness, loses because he fights a group and at the end an opponent with two zanpakto-souls.

It’s funny when you consider how little of a chance starrk actually had. Still made for a great character and one of my favorite Espada

Anybody else notice how Shunsui keeps getting matched up with opponents that use guns. Coyote Stark and Lilynette, Robert Accutrone, and Lily Barro.

Starrk is not to be slept on LMAO. Required multiple captains some with hollowfications to be put down and shunsui was at 1 point considering to pop his bankai for starrk, knowing full well off its destructive capabilities towards his allies and enemies.

At first I thought ukitake was right but as I thought about it more I was hating it . Stark was real definition of a man ,he was fighting with glory . Ukitake shouldn't have interfered

Honestly this fight was unfair, if it was just Shunsui VS Stark that would b fine but instead it was Stark vs 4 people. No I don’t count Lilly a separate person because she is part of Stark and becomes his weapon which she originally was. I wish he survived cause he and Lilly were just lonely who wanted others around them which is why he created Lilly to begin with

I don’t care what anyone says, Stark is easily stronger than Ulquirororrroororora (idk how to spell bros name), and his strength while not acknowledged by flashy blasts is recognized but superior fighters like Shunsui and Aizen.

In this episode you can see clearly how powerful shushui is, he managed to kill the number 1 by using only his shi kai, cunning ability and tactics. Wow, he really deserved to be the next head captain after Yamamoto.

Somehow i noticed that when stark hits shunsuei on the side of his hat that would mark when shunsei was battling with that Quincy with those pistols when that Quincy shot him directly in the eye .

I really wanted to see more of Jushiro fighting. If Kubo Sensei wanted to, we could've seen Jushiro's Bankai. I would be fine to see both Shunsui and Jushiro take down Starrk as a double team kill

Starrk doesn’t get enough recognition, even though he didn’t have much time as other favoured arrancars like Ulquiorra or Grimjow he still accomplished a lot in a short time Starrk was that strong as a Vasto lorde he had to split his soul in half just to have someone to be around since every hollow that approaches him dies from his presence alone Starrk was able to steal Orhimine without Ichigo and Kenpachi noticing until he let them know it’s out of character for him to be doing tasks like this, and even after Ichigo and Kenpachi recognised his presence he still sonido’d away even with Kenpachi and Ichigo in Bankai who’s shunpo is able to catch Byakuya off guard(who during the arrancar arc fought against Zommari- the self proclaimed fastest Espada-) and dodge Senbonzakura Kageyoshis petals Starrk fought against Shunsui, a future head captain. Starrk figured out Shunsui was ambidextrous at the start, he also figured out the rules of Irooni quickly. The pressure he was applying on Shunsui almost made him use Bankai Starrk can casually fire ceros with little to no windup time without having to do a gesture or pose and he has enough reiatsu to constantly fire them as much as he pleases Starrk was able to quickly deduce how Jushiros shikai worked Starrk was able to hold his own against hollowfied Rose and Love, ex captains of the gotei 13. Finally Starrk accomplished all of this while not taking the fight seriously or without any hint of bloodlust or homocidal intent, giving the captains many chances to run or just pretend to fight. He also fought while feeling battle grief after losing Baaragan in battle. He could’ve used other hollow skills at his disposal like Cero Oscuras if he wanted too(Arrancars can use this in their release state and Yammy used a black Cero in the manga) or Gran Rey Cero since the Espada were not in Las Noches It would’ve been nice to see Starrk in tybw just having a regular conversation with Shunsui since they don’t have to battle, or he helps out in freeing las noches from the Quincies invasion.

People complaining about the boring animation and swordplay at 1:51 are missing the point. Shunsui is intentionally attacking slowly and awkwardly because he wants to provoke Starrk into attacking.
