Line 6 M9 Stompbox Modeler guitar effects pedal demo 

The trick to Line 6 is to use dirtboxes for your od/ds and use the line 6 for everything else!

thing is, I have never seen anyone using an all-in-one pedal board live on stage. Everyone who knows what they're doing seems to build their own from separate pedals. I'm just about to invest a lot of time and money in a bunch of pedals and I couldn't do it without you GMD. Thanks for absolutely everything..... duuuude you rawkk!!

Awesome vid as usual. I own an M9 myself. I used to hate the digital stuff too, but this machine is something else. A lot of users tend to forget that in live situations things sound very different. Ofcourse most nondigital devices and especially drives and distortions will sound "better" But in a live situation the audience won't noitice if you're using a digital effect or not. Having said that, I prefer to use my amps drive or seperate pedals too. But don't say the M9 is crap, 'cause it ain't

Anyone that says you can't replace analog pedals hasn't tried this. I've replaced almost my entire pedalboard with this thing. With the exception of my wah. I don't recommend getting rid of the analog wah.

Is this thing true bypass? I have great boutique dirt pedals and compressors but this would be cool to make weird sounds with and stuff if it didn't suck all of the tone out of my guitar and other pedals.

Can you stack 3 distortions as your 3 effects at once? example 1 crunch 2 overdrive 3 distortion and turn them on or off individually?

@Fender1976uk these may or may not be crappy, depending on your taste. But a lot of people use a lot of different effects in their playing. I never cared much for multieffects, but I've always used different types of effects in my playing. Wah-wahs, Whammy, Delays etc.

@bonetrainmusic I have to agree with you, personally I think on higher gain settings that it sounds like it's in another room or some kind of low pass is over it.

Pretty cool, I'm not really sure what's the purpose of them though now that the Pod HD stuff is out.

i got one of this and it is probably the best shit i´ve ever done, first the quakity and sound of the effects are top notch, delay and reverb are outstanding. Since I got it it is my main pedal, no need to use any othe ´cause i got all that I need in the line 6 M9, do yourself a favor and get one of this, you won´t regret it.

The bypass signal is the best tone you got out from this box!

@trevinor3 My bad I was getting it confused with the ME50, I haven't played the ME25. The ME50 sounded way to digital even on the non Drive effects to me

For those of you saying the digital effects all sound the same, you just have to know how to tweak them. Digital processors can NEVER take the place of Analog but if you mess with the settings you'll find an amazing amount of great sounds in the M9. I've had it for a bit now and have really turned some serious solos live. As well as some great compressed funk pockets. Peace

did you run this in front of the amp or in the effects loop?

Check out Pete Thorn pedal board to see a great application of M9. I just went from G system to M9 plus analog pedals and really couldnt be happier- now spend 10 secs tweaking instead of 10 hours! Run this out of effects loop of marsh dsl 40 into m9 then dl4 then terra echo bck to effrcts loop (out in stereo to another amp)- personally i find line 6 mods sound 'fun' in that they are not rack quality but that makes them great as i aint no pro!

@Fender1976uk because not everyone plays blues/rock based music. I don't really have a need for all that stuff either, but I can see how someone would. A lot prog-rock bands, Indie bands, Neo Psychedelic bands use a lot of different effects. Have you ever seen some other touring musicians racks? The Edge and John Frusciante for Instance use a billion Stomp boxes. For somebody in experimental music this could be a useful tool

wow... basically the fm4, dl4, dm4 and mm4 together but with less memories... well... a smaller m13... probably one of the best live tools!

I've replaced almost my entire pedalboard with this thing. With the exception of my wah. I don't recommend getting rid of the analog wah for two reasons, you have to hit a button before you can engage it while with a regular wah, you just step on it. Plus the sound just isn't the same.

@YogiSizzle: dude I have a pod x3 live which is crap, and the m9 Ive tested. I have a little demo of the me25 that I did when testing its software, and I can assure you that the little box totally blows away the M9. Ive used it in shows and made other guitar plays take a dump when they saw me uitlizing it! No question about it ME26 is a line 6 killer!

GOD! I have played one, and it doesn't sound THAT horrible... Dirt sounds a bit fake, but everything else is very good.

Kids nowadays like to use these stuff. Mainly its because that its convenient and its usually cheaper than getting tons of ANALOG stompboxes. However, IMO theses digital stuff sounded kinda cold, its not as warm as those stomp boxes. Its more obvious when it comes to drive and distortion pedals

@trevinor3 I'm sorry but the Boss ME25 has some nasty sounding effects ( and I mean nasty in a bad way). This and the M13 have pretty convincing effects, though the distortions could be a bit better. The Modulation and Delays are top notch.

@TheMaersk12 - Is This Love, rock ballad by Whitesnake. The 80s got a bad rep because of the hair and makeup but the music was top-notch.

...the only complaint I have ever had about my POD X3 from Line 6 is too many non-musical noise maker effects, while missing some actual useful stuff, like a harmonist or pitch shifter! I was hoping that would be addressed with the v2.0 firmware update, but they just added more junk. Total FAIL on Line 6's part, INMHO.
