Nice video, I like how you do the expanded pipes version for people to follow how the pipes are working. I'd love that for some of the real complex builds people do.

"shutoff will not continue filling" is the most shocking thing ive heard about this game. sometimes even after 1000+ hours you learn more mechanics of this game

Really cool looking stuff. I think a larger Arbor tree farm with auto-harvest turned off would be a far less complicated but equally effective solution. But this is ONI... cool contraptions rule!

Your method uses less dirt I guess, at the trade off of a higher start up cost. There's always a trade off.

you may be able to use this in pacu ranching to properly time the replacement fish in the breed pool. it takes 25 cycles to replace a fish, which is well outside the range of the filter gates.

Adding into the pipeline. Arbor trees yield a lot of dirt after distilling & composting.

Using a second one in the place of the filter would allow arbitrarily long on times as well. Kind of weird to use this instead of counters, but cool.

You don't need spaced out DLC this could be done with only valves and shuttoffs and one pipe pressure sensor.(even if you can't place the sensor on top of the shuttoff but you need to math it out(more) and is more bluky) Like if you need 3 seconds you set a valve to 6kg/s and a sensor in front set to 6-8kg conected to shuttoff a tile in front. But the math is slightly less obvious as seen.

@@greezyhammer764 a timely reply... I have written it, but i think it's a little bit hard to read So the first bubble would rest in the shut off, as will 4kg of the second, and two in the sensor pipe, the third will get you to 8kg letting the system to reset after everything drains

I'm using the meter valve as a self resetting timer, but without the bridge loop, is it needed because of weird issues at game load? About the waterfall branch cutter, if you put a ladder or any foreground object on top of the arbor tree, the branch won't spawn there. It has seven spots to grow them and only grows five at a time, so you don't lose anything. Good stuff as always!

With regard to the branches on top of arbor trees, why not just build a ladder in that location? Wouldn't this force it to grow its branches on its side, nullifying the problem?

Ladders on the sides work like that, but I am pretty sure if you build a ladder above the tree you can't plant the tree at all. It will snap off by itself eventually I believe. One thing you can do is just fill the room with pips and the branch on the top gives them something to rummage.

Sean Hunter the original self harvesting arbor tree farm worked just fine with a ladder on top. Did they change it since? The ladder needs to be on the third tile where the branch would grow. The trunk is two tiles high.

@@greezyhammer764 I just wanna say I'm happy to finally see a good letsplayer play experiment with arbor trees. When Klei added the Sublimation Station in Space Out, I thought arbor trees would immediately become the meta for oxygen production, yet for some reason nobody seam to be doing it. Maybe there is so much water everywhere that people think a good old spom is just simple, IDK. I would play with arbor trees myself but with university I barely have any time left to play, so I'd rather put that time designing stuff on sandbox mode.
