I know a fun word Slachtoffer, it's Dutch for victim, but the literal translation is "slaughter sacrifice"

In German we just use the word word offer and translate it into Opfer xD and thats then our "victim" LOL xD

OMG i just noticed: Lion tooth in french would litteraly translate to "dent de lion" and "dent de lion" ="dandelion"

Klokhuis or clock tower is an apple core in dutch because back in the day they thought it looked like a clock and the seeds looked like bells inside of it. Hope it kinda clears it up just looked it up too

an apple core is called "Gehäuse" in german -> Haus -> house

The Dande part of the English word also refers to the teeth. Dandelion = dental/lion so Tooth/lion. Lion/tooth Löwen/zahn :)

In Swedish, tjuv (thief) is a semi-common prefix for verbs meaning "to do [the verb] without permission" Some more examples: Tjuvtitta/tjuvkika (thief look): Peek/peep Tjuvstarta (thief start): False start Tjuvkoppla (thief connect): Hot-wire Also, just for fun: the 'tj-' is pronounced similarly to 'ch' (though a bit softer), or like 'ti' in words like 'exertion' or 'communication' (the first 'k' in 'tjuvkika' is also pronounced the same way)

So I am Dutch and I was always told that a klokkenhuis(clock house) is called that way because the seeds and the core look like little bells in a tower. I am not sure if that is true though. Side note a bell tower would be a klokkentoren/clock tower (we use the same word for clock and bell, I guess because in the past the bells where used to tell the time) or a speeltoren (play tower as in playing music)

I think the lion tooth for dandelion is pretty common in germanic and romanic languages. In Danish we also have "løvetand" ("løve"= "lion", "tand"= "tooth") though we have another word we use more. And I believe the Spanish word is "diente de leon", though i'm not fluent in Spanish. And I loved your picks of languages for this one since I speak/understand all of them to a certain extent. I'm just gonna be an annoying nit-pick for a second though and point out the first one is "smølfespark" with the "ø" instead of "o". And from what I could hear Petra pronounced "indsprøjtning" correctly when she tried.

I know 3 names for dandelion in German Löwenzahn (lion teeth) Butterblume (butter bloom/flower) Pusteblume (blowing bloom/flower)

I got most of the Scandinavian/north Germanic ones right (except the first one), which is natural since my native Norwegian is mostly mutually intelligible with Swedish and Danish. My knowledge of all the west Germanic languages (except English and to some extent German grammar) are rather limited. :p

I guessed 5 because an old Dutch word for light bulb is peertje, little pear. It is called after the shape of a pear. We only use it for old incandescent light bulbs though, not for the new energy efficient lights like LED light bulbs. So the word might die out with the incandescent light bulbs.

comes from old greek katarrhein which was germanized to "Katarrh". Not used that much anymore. It's used to describe a inflamation of mucous membrane in medicine.

"Kater" in the sense of a "hangover" comes from the German word "Katarrh" which has nothing to do with a male cat, but points at an infection of inner glands in your stomach or intestines.

"Muskelkater" literally means "muscle male cat". For some reason in Germany a hangover is called "kater" (male cat).
