Fun fact: Kurt achieves that gravelly voice by (probably subconsciously) vibrating his ventricular folds, which is known for producing the sounds heard in Tuvan throat singing, alongside with Queen's Freddie Mercury also using it to give him is rock voice when singing
@@pepperonicapone1443 watched an interview the other day Kurt said it's just an irritation. They didn't really know what it was or what was causing it but they assumed it was an ulcer.
This was recorded in a studio for a radio show some time before Nevermind. The lyrics we all know and love were written on his way over to the studio...if that doesn't prove the sheer genius of this man idk what will. Love you Kurt
I’ve won many karaoke competitions singing Nirvana songs. The tones were a natural fit for my range. Then I started growling and screaming and I killed my voice box. I miss singing so much… singing Nirvana would resonate in my soul, one of the very few things in this world that made me feel complete.
Jeez, the stuff this man does to his voice for our enjoyment is nothing short of amazing. Try singing like this, you'd blow out your voice box in an hour.
Constantine P not necessarily if you don't do it right then yes you will I can sing with rasp and I won't feel any pain but if I don't do it right I'll cough
kmlgraph the stomach pain wasnt a direct cause of his singing, but i doubt it helped, it was some gastrointestinal thing he talks about it alot of interview, but he claims it went away before he committed suicide, so idk if he took heroin for that or if it was just for fun, cuz kurt was a drug addict
Yes, to all of those who doubt this is Kurt Cobain, this is in-fact KURT COBAIN. He recorded multiple demos for his songs, considerably in "beta" form, then was modified and released on official albums. And if you can't tell if this is Kurt's voice, you're not a real fan. His voice is extremely distinctive, extremely.
So I'm like... 4 years late, which means this won't help at all, but just try recording on your phone with a recording app or from a laptop with audacity.
just use any "cheap" microphone, like the apple earbuds's microphone, and record in any software that doesn't have noise reduction on your microphone, you want the "cleanest" and most "vanilla" sound possible.
Black_Leg_Sanji dave made good music but compared to kurt he’s shit he was a great drummer one of the best but his singing and guitar playing is shit he’s alright and a legend of alternative though
Kurt cobain in heaven "i wonder what modern music is like-" Edit: I made this comment when I still listened to the radio and hadn't really listened to modern music If anything kurt probably would be amazed how many people have been inspired by him and his music
My brothers went and invited me, but i was only 12 so didn't know what I missed out. If i could go back, god there is not amount of regret i can express.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends They're in my head I'm so ugly, that's okay 'cause so are you Broke our mirrors Sunday morning is everyday for all I care And I'm not scared Light my candles in a daze 'Cause I've found God Hey, hey Yeah, hey Yeah, hey Yeah, hey I'm so lonely, that's okay, I shaved your head And I'm not sad And just maybe I'm to blame for all I've heard But I'm not sure I'm so excited, I can't wait to meet you there And I don't care I'm so horny, that's okay My will is good Yeah, hey Yeah, yeah Yeah Yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah
Layne Staley, Alice In Chains. Glad others keep up with this stuff trying to keep it from being so grim :) Some of the best music ever recorded in my book. AIC Rotten Apple Unplugged is gone or I would link it. The talent back then and the emotion in their content..
Late but, definitely kurt, and its a radio performance. This is or was a rarity song, but you can easily find it. The demo acoustic of been a son is good too, thats a home recording i believe by kurt
