LOVE the new intro! When Lori said on two different jailhouse phone calls "You don't know what happened. You weren't there" implies SHE was.

The fact that she stated on more than one occasion that she knew exactly where the kids were.

The phone call to her sister. The demand that any new members leave their children behind. The fact that Lori's husband was murdered and Chad's wife and their marrying not long after the fact. The fact that the bodies were buried on Chad's property. Insurance and child support benefits. The lack of motive of anyone else to want to see the children disappear for financial gain. The murder of Alex Cox. Also, child with tape over face cannot breath in a plastic bag. Or inhale plastic. The lack of effort put into to finding her missing children because she knew where the bodies were buried. She lied about the children's whereabouts.

The evidence to prove JJ was killed by plastic bag is the scratch marks on his neck indicating he tried to get the bag off his head as he was suffocated. Also, the bilateral bruises on JJ’s arms where he was probably held down and he struggled to get free and remove the bag. Horrible horrible horrible.

When Summer said that Lori was dancing on the beach in Hawaii & Lori said “that was mouths ago” referring to the kids being missing

One thing I would bring in is the video from the storage lockers. She helped clean out the car and loaded their toys , bikes etc. into the storage locker. She helped make more room in the back of her SUV. She was definitely involved and masterminded these horrific deaths.

As their mother lorie was responsible for their well being. If someone else killed them without her knowing it, She should have been the one calling the police to report it. You don't get to have missing children and try to hide it Without being involved.

It was the "months later" comment to her sister about getting married in Hawaii that totally sealed it for me. That expressed knowledge of what had happened to her children, and I can only imagine that if you don't know what has happened to your children, 6 weeks is not enough time to process and for you to be searching for your own happiness. Wouldn't you be in bits? Those poor babies.

The rewatch party 🎉 what really set me for guilty is all the planning and purchases before Tammy was dead, the switching or combining of all of Tylee accounts money to Lori's accounts to make sure she had access to tylee money after her death, she did the same with jj.... so to me she knew everything, she helped plan things out beforehand and was ready.

As a mom I cannot fantom the suffering these children went through and how she can live with herself,

Watching after livestream-my reaction to the cross and the pathologist’s answer-as an “armchair juror” having listened to the entirety of the doctor’s direct examination, I was satisfied by his explanations and credibility. The defense attorney is responsible for the tenor of his cross. He went after the doctor as though he was a screw up and referenced knowing what he knows from TV and scoffing at the doctor’s response of his basis being knowledge. The pathologist is only human and while he become a bit snarky and defensive-that attorney provoked that response when he could have asked his questions regarding proof, swabs, samples, etc in a clinical straight forward manner. As you noted, this attorney does this sort of impeachment style questioning frequently and it has to affect the jurors negatively as well as we hearing the testimony later. Further, if the defense of Lori is - she didn’t do it, there’s no proof that she was there, etc, how did this tactic further his client’s defense?

I had assumed JJ was killed with the white plastic bag and duct tape when I heard the testimony about how JJ was found. Lori never reported her kids missing. The phone call with Melanie Gibbs was chilling, and telling. Lori said on multiple occasions that she knew where the kids were and they were "happy and safe" when they were already decomposing in Chad's backyard. Poor Tylee was delivered to the morgue in 3 body bags and was a charred mass of bones and rotting flesh

The pathologist said that JJ had scratches on both sides his neck, indicating to the pathologist that he was trying to get the bag off his head. He also said there were bruises on both of his arms that he thought were indicative that somebody was holding him down to prevent him from pulling the bag off. My heart absolutely bleeds for that little boy!

I’m here after the live…. Tylee on video telling Lori that she’s not a dark spirit was very telling and compelling as well. These people are just out and out insane

Apart from the truckloads of other circumstantial evidence, what jumped out to me was her language on the calls to her sister and son. Fully invested in her justifications of why they had to die. That screams to me that she was 100% complicit in the plans to murder her children.

Lori also stopped filling JJs meds, got rid of his service dog and said he was a zombie and a drug baby

There are many pieces of evidence that connect her to the murders. She didn't leave them with their father/family. She has admitted to Summer that she knew when they died and even then she lied. She said 'it was months after they died she was dancing in Hawaii on her wedding. It was about 6 weeks after JJ died. She is something else.

Lori told Colby that she, JJ and Tylee are the only people that know the truth and told Summer she got married months after(the kids were dead) so she knew

The number & length of conversations between Lori, Chad & Alex just prior to each death is evidence of conspiracy.

Lori knows time of death, in her phone call to sister when asked about dancing and smiling on the beach she said she had to go on “that was months after” (they were killed), only 2 months!

She told more than one person she thought it would be better to drive her kids off a cliff than let them face end times, was recorded as saying our kids are our friends in the celestial kingdom coz they are adults there so don't worry about them in this world. Lastly her telling Gibb that JJ was safe and happy and that Tylee was at BYU when she was too young for uni!

This case has been one I have followed since Nate Eaton broke the story on police looking for JJ. As for can the state prove guilt on counts two and three? Yes, so much circumstantial evidence that speaks volumes to her ability to control, influence, etc. And I have a lot more in the way of thoughts on how they can prove these two counts. The Ada Country Medical Examiner wasn't as strong as he could have been with the cross but I think his testimony is compelling to the jury. I watch Nate Eaton every evening for his courtroom insider update and spend the day listening to the previous day's testimonies. Still wish Boyce had not banned the cameras for the trial. Through out this trial comments from Lori have slipped out. In the call with her sister, she commented that she went to Hawaii after kids disappeared. She also stated she knows what happened to her kids. Alex carried out Lori’s bidding (said the cousin).

Calling her children zombies and lying about their whereabouts are some of the strongest evidence to me.

In order for them to find "micro plastics" in their nasal cavity_ the plastic bag would have to be ripped and/ or broken. Thus, allowing air in, and allowing Jj to breath.

Don’t know if anyone mentioned but Nate from EIN made an excellent observation after lori’s conversation with Summer(from jail) Summer made a comment something to the effect that how could Lori be dancing on the beach-Lori responded well that was 3 months after. When Lori danced on beach with chad -as far as what was publicly known the children were missing-Lori was saying they were safe but in this phone call with Summer after children were found-Lori indicates that it had been 3 months since children after(implied is died)-how could she know this except she is involved? Her own actions from time children went missing till children were found condemn her.

Why do we need to learn the manner of death? Because that's the way the murderers should be executed post conviction. Chad & Lori should have their hands & feet bound while having duct tape wrapped around their heads & plastic bags tied tightly around their necks. They can report to us what it felt like in their next lives. Just want Chad & Lori to be safe & happy -- just like JJ.

I've served on two juries, one criminal local and one federal. Both times we were told to use our common sense. That helped come to a conclusion by putting it all together.

One of the things that stuck with me is she searched for life insurance for kids. She never bought it, but she searched for it. That's enough for me, right there.

To me, the argument sounds like, “you said he died from a gunshot wound. What’s your evidence?” “We’ll, he didn’t die of a heart attack and there was a bullet hole in his head” “But that bullet hole could have happened after, right?” Like that’s such a dumb argument to me. There was a bag. Taped over his face. With no underlying disease to cause death, a bullet hole, a bag over his head… it might as well be an arrow.

I'm a member of the rewatch crew although I watched a little of both videos this afternoon.

Let's say JJ died from some natural cause at Lori's or Alex's home. Why duct tape the arms, legs, feet, mouth and put a white plastic bag over his head if he is already dead? Then, put him in another black bag for transport and burial? Why do any of this if it were some explainable reason for death not due to nefarious actions? The answers are in the questions. The only reasonable and common sense thing to do would be to contact the authorities.

As absolutely heartbreaking as it is… We are hearing that these two little boys - JJ and Gannon fought with all they had. Peter, thank you so much for covering these trials.

Lori at least knew the kids were dead and not safe somewhere, so she can not say Chad kept her in the dark. When she talked to her sister, Lori in response to Summer saying her kids were in the ground and Lori was dancing on the beach and being happy, that it had been months and she had grieved the kids and deserved happiness. (Not exact words but that is what she meant) She let that slip in the heat of the moment.

For the defense that she did it because "she changed when she met Chad", well, so did Bonnie Parker when she meant Clyde Barrow. And so did Caril Fugate when she met Charlie Starkweather. That doesn't alleviate their guilt and it doesn't excuse Lori. She was all in.

Even some people that I know that may not be as hands-on as I was, they would NEVER have the lack of concern for their children's wellbeing or be able to move on with plans in their lives without their children present. This case is sickening. The texts, calls, and lack of concern points to having a part in this.

Re-watch crew. The defense is doing a good job coming up with questions, but it's not making much of a dent obviously in the state's case. They're just doing their job. And I think that's state is doing a good job presenting their case that Lori was part of the conspiracy to commit the murders.

In her phone call with her Sister she actually admits to knowing but I don't think a lot of people picked up on it because it is very hard to hear.

The comment that Lori’s attorney saying that he disagrees with the autopsy guy about his field of EXPERTise. 😂😂😂 I believe what movies and tv say over someone in the field on people breathing plastic bag particles.

Here is what the evidence tells me: the fact that she intended and actually executed ssi fraud and kept cashing her children’s checks shows that giving the kids to another family member would have resulted in losing that income, so the murder is part of the “get rid of the 2 too many kids” but keep their money fulfills the conspiracy to commit an ongoing crime. Conspiracy? I believe so.

There was a comment in chat from Alicia A. saying she doesn't blame the pathologist for being sarcastic with the very ignorant line of questioning and I absolutely agree. I think the defense lawyer actually started the sarcasm with his questioning, and also saying "I guess we'll have to disagree." You, a lawyer with (I'm assuming) ZERO medical training or education and saying you're going off of what you have seen in movies, is disagreeing with a licensed pathologist with years of education, training, and practice... way to make yourself sound like an a**. Idk, usually I try to be objective and open to both lines of questioning, direct and cross, but this defense attorney just grinds my gears--in a similar way to the one defense attorney in the Stauch case that asked the judge to reprimand the prosecutor for "taunting him and talking to him across the room" lol. I also don't really like the white-haired prosecutor in that case either though, but I thought Stauch's defense attorney just sounded like a child telling on his brother to his parent at that moment. I think the pathologist was justified with his sarcasm. That's just my personal opinion though, and I'm sure others feel differently, which is absolutely fair and understandable.

Nate Eaton interviewed Lori’s niece. She said Alex had been in a wreck at 16 and had a head injury which stunted his emotional and cognitive growth. Essentially he remained a teenager. Interesting.

Watched the wrap up last night on Nate Eaton’s site. Same issues around the interaction between the defense lawyer and the Dr. who did the autopsy. A Dr. who has siblings who are lawyers replied in the comments. Made we want to explore the issue a bit more. I am absolutely not an expert but there is a difference between asphyxiation by smothering opposed to having a bag taped over the head. Smothering by a pillow, hand or other object may cause dust, dander or bits of stuff to be breathed in and or spittle to be on the surface as the victim fights off the smotherer. If it was a new white plastic bag, perhaps kitchen size since it was white, and it was duct taped tightly with the mouth duct taped as well the air supply would be completely cut off. The Dr. said “ This is different”. Too bad he didn’t explain the difference rather than getting in a pis….ing contest with the defense lawyer.

Peter, you mentioned that Scotland are getting rid of the ‘not proven’ verdict. The burden is still on prosecution “innocent until proven guilty”. ‘Not proven’ is considered the same as ‘not guilty’, but critics felt it stigmatised the accused as potentially didn’t completely clear them in the way a not guilty verdict does.

Watching later... but! To the jury argument. Lori used Tylee's cell phone to impersonate Tylee after Tylee's death. She has no deniability if Tylee's death. She conspired to deceive family, friends, law enforcement and SSI about Tylee's death.
