Jurors were dismissed on a Friday the interview was the following Wednesday. That gave the juror 5 days to go online watch TV do whatever. This is such a reach for her defense, or I should say the lack thereof since they didn't put anything on.

YESSSS! This was my thought EXACTLY!!! Not to mention, the juror was very intentional when they spoke, saying that they knew the judges direction, they knew they law, & they DID NOT consider all of that evidence during deliberations! This poor juror must feel absolutely awful about those 2-3 sentences, now having the defense attorneys for this awful women use this interview to attempt to prolong anything with this case & with her sentencing. Lastly, i find it completely disgusting that her counsel thinks it’s in the best interest of justice to even attempt to put another group of ppl through that awful trauma again is just appalling. Lori had already hurt/ KILLED enough ppl. I can’t begin to understand why any sane person would think it’s appropriate to put anyone else through what Lori did! It’s fu*king ridiculous to think that now at this point after this trial that they would be able to find another jury with no prior knowledge of her evil actions. I have felt badly for her lawyers throughout most of this saga, but this Hail Mary they are taking is so gross & really has infuriated me!

I don't see any violations here from the juror or Nate. I do think the judge made a bad call by allowing any mention of Arizona. That's another case. Let her get another LS when a new jury gets the actual evidence from that actual case. The state biased the jury with the Arizona rumors imo. It's like they used the Arizona rumors like double jeopardy. I mean, the state is using it twice. Something that gets into the jurors' heads in this first case, possibly affecting the first case,then doing another trial to find out if there really is a crime there. I think the state had enough without that, like Peter said. The thing that makes me wonder if the Arizona stuff did affect the juror was his statement about connecting Charles to tylee. It sounded like he said if she could M Charles, then it would be more believable, that she could have done it to Tylee??? Somehow, he was wanting the MO information to help him with the evidence information imo.This is why MO information is so sticky and should rarely be used imo.😊It's too hard for most people to truly separate the two imo.

@crystaldawn9255
@crystaldawn9255 Год назад
Yes jurors should speak out but they should also understand that their words will be taken twisted and manipulated by the defense team in order to give their client the absolute best possibility of an appeal etc. It's strange to me that the defense can even begin to say what they're saying or think that this is somehow what they're portraying it to be. He said he clearly did not consider this but obviously after being a juror he was probably interested in what went on in Arizona just like all of us, and went and researched it
@amandamacabre
@amandamacabre Год назад
I think they should also consider other people that may twist their words. In this case, it makes most sense for the defense to do it. However, in different cases, your words may be twisted by the prosecution if they lost the trial. It could be the media if it doesn't match the narrative they want to push. It could just be the public because there was a collective opinion that varied from the verdict.

@@amandamacabre and then there's the so-called news media they love to make a headline that's half-true
@molecularmicro
@molecularmicro Год назад
@@amandamacabre it’s a whole helluva a lot less likely that the prosecution would push the narrative - mostly because there’s little benefit in them doing so, the prosecution cannot call for a new trial - once a verdict has been reached in a criminal case this would fall into the realm of double jeopardy. Now, it’s very possible that you may see it in civil litigation (but it’s usually called plaintiff and defense in the US)… but it’s also pretty common in civil law or there to be a countersuit in play, so both parties are plaintiffs and defendants (ex. Depp v. Heard). Most of the time I’ve heard juror misconduct coming up by prosecution teams in typically been in the event of a mistrial/expressing concerns about the new trial.
@amandamacabre
@amandamacabre Год назад

I got my first jury summons and went in today for it. Started the day with almost 200 people. Right after lunch about 2/3 of them got released because the criminal case they had been selected for plead out that morning. It got down to 36 of us... so I made it to the court room. Civil case. Waiting on my turn for the voir dire process... my group was up next! ... and they announced they had their jury. I was so, so bummed! I felt like the only one there who actually kind of wanted to be there and I didn't even get a chance. When they dismissed us everyone was saying "Thank god! We're outta here!" And now I can't serve on a jury for the next two years. I am legit sad about it. I'm lucky that my work is slow right now and gives me PTO for jury duty. Especially since they apparently only pay $12 a day (plus $0.16 per mile to/from court). Yikes. One of the lawyers asked every group "who's excited to be here?" as a joke... it's me, I was excited! Lol! smh

As for Lori requesting a new trial, I'm going to agree with Ben Chew, who appeared on another channel and who was asked what his thoughts were about the request for a new trial, and he said, "They're grasping at straws!" I also feel that any comments made by the jurors should be held off until after the appeal date expires. This way there won't be any misunderstandings or media slip-ups. Personally, I couldn't bear a new trial, and if I feel that way, can you imagine how the families and the witnesses would feel? The conspiracy of 2 vs 5 is ridiculous, IMO. The wording allows for room for others. But who cares how many people were in the conspiracy? Lori was clearly found to be IN ON the conspiracy. So she’s guilty, no matter how many were involved. If I was the juror I’d totally look up the trial after being released. I’d probably look up a RU-vid video or podcast on it to listen to while driving home as soon as I was released. I’d want to know what others thought. So the juror looking up info afterwards makes complete sense to me. The judge will question the juror, they’ll confirm under oath that they looked it up AFTER, and the judge will have no reason to allow a new trial. This is a nothing burger.

I worked in EMS since 2004 there is absolutely no training for a case like this. When it comes to kids that is the worst call to go to. With the Chris watts case a lot of people on that case had to go to therapy for what they seen and heard so no you’re never prepared for this. Your trained to stay calm in any circumstance and never want to upset a parent when it’s their kid you’re dealing with. I am sure these jurors and first responders were offed therapy after the this case. Most people in the medical field on an emergency call are trained to absolutely stay calm and focus on what your doing and try and save the person life This is a horrible case to deal with for anyone and I don’t care how long you been on the job these situations stay with you. Just like a person in the military when they come back from war there not the same as when they left. There’s no preparation you can go through to handle something like this ever and I don’t care if you been on the job for 50 years you will never get use to it.

In Cali I was a juror. Hung jury. Judge told us we could talk to either side, or anyone now…Co juror and I interned for DA and got guilty verdict in 1:40 minutes…

It is allowed that jurors may speak out, but I think it may be unwise.

He never said he watched it during the trial. He probably knows more about the case now because it’s over and he could look more into it.

A mountain being made out of an invisible molehill. I think this jury member was fantastic. I’m happy for jurors to speak after a trial if they want. There was nothing off to me about anything he said. If he needs to look at notes for dates, fine, look at the bollocks surrounding the nothingness he didn’t say in his first interview with Nate, so yup, you wanna read from notes, then read from notes. Desperate people clutching at straws. Great channel, thankyou

It was Nate that says “the body cam footage “ not the juror

I kind of agree with you Peter, why did he even offer that extra information about Tylee ?!? Not that he was lying, but it just wasn’t needed!

I have standby jury duty for tomorrow. (Cook County, IL) Will find out tonight if I'm needed. Yeek, biting nails. I don't know if they'd want me with the amount of lawtube I watch (not just the serious channels, the silly ones too).

In Australia , all jurors are anonymous . It is a serious offence for any juror to speak out or to be identified . I don’t believe that the lawyers even know the jurors name , before or after . I can only remember one case ever where the juror was identified . I don’t remember that why that happened .

Yes, especially if they discussed earlier in the interview that he had watched Dateline with his wife and did a followup days later saying the same thing.

So now the juror has to get his own lawyer? Why would anyone want to serve on a jury?
