The nicest guy on the planet. Loves food and culture and what both of those mean on a more spiritual level with immense passion. I only discovered Mark's videos about a week or two ago but absolutely hooked. A man after my own heart, really good food, humble and kind and welcoming to the entire educational experience. Huge huge respect for him.

Your acumen is very notable when it comes to informing the viewer of all the culinary delights of your travels, and I must say that your English is so so perfect. Your enunciation of every single vowel and syllable that should be uttered is quite impressive. I know some people don't care, but believe me, there are those of us out there who do take notice. Your channel and your videos are very informative and well executed; an excellent point of reference to anyone who might be wanting to learn more about exotic foods. I know, I perceived that; but his English is truly perfect, well pronounced and enunciated. To be so formidably spoken yet so care free is very rare for an American. Believe me, most Americans don't speak English as well as Mark does despite the fact that English is their first language.

That meal w all that fresh turmeric, dried turmeric, fresh garlic, chilis, papaya, fresh herbs and mixed white and red rice is a HUGE anti-cancer feast. If we all ate like this every day cancer rates would crash.

Just been to Thailand last year. I just love Asian food so much. Thai food have very strong flavor and is very changeable taste. Asian food is the best.

This vlog was top notch Mark. I always watch your eating at restaurant videos you do but it's great to also see the day to day stuff like shopping at markets and riding around on mopeds. My inner nerd loved the video production portion. Great job and now I'm even more excited for July when my wife and I will be in Bangkok!

Hi Mark, I have been enjoying your utube food adventures and what obviously appears as wonderfully delicious dishes at home in Bankock. When I see the variety of foods you are exposed to I see how limited my diet has been my entire life. The traditional american diet is not the healthiet.. I live south of NY City in central New Jersey, USA. Much of the food you ate in N.Y. is part of my diet. NY style pizza, sausage, onions and peppers on italian rolls, stuffed cabbage, hamburgers and french fries is common place. I have a friend who is from Okinawa, Japan and she has occasionally created some fine japaneese cuisine with simple healthy vegatbles sauces which is a delight to experience. Look forward to your continuing food showcases. Best always to you, your wife/camara tech support and mother in law. Live the good life in Bangkok.
I was first in Bangkok in 1976 and have been back many times . I do recall the extreme humidity and back then it was very polluted from diesel smoke and tuk-tuks. But I loved it, still do . The food is amazing
I'm Thai but I love watching your video a lot. I think you know better about Thai food than many Thai people. I always recommend your video to my foreign friends. If they want to travel to Thailand and can eat like you they will save a lot of money.

belovedpeartree Hey, thank you. I'm used a Canon 70D. For the groceries, can't remember exactly how much everything cost, but we made a lot of food, for about 10 people, and I think we spent maybe about $25.

YES!!! This is an awesome project of yours, more videos of the daily life in Bangkok and the various foods during different festivals as well as seasons. I have to say though, that going by the look on your face over breakfast, I might have skipped that meal and just had tea. Yep, that smile of yours definitely lets me know if I want to try something or not.

When you told you spend most of the day editing videos, i couldn't believe it. I used to think you spend most of them time traveling.😛 But when i edited a whole video all by myself, It literally took 2 days for a 15 min of video. Those dishes remind me of home cooked meals in the Philippines. No fancy presentation. Just your basic but very fundamentally rich, spicy, an explosion of flavours, and nutritious food. Miss home and yes, i miss visiting cheap food in Bangkok compared to where I am now in Sydney.
