This is an EPIC week coming up! 7 days living like Casey Neistat.
His schedule is absolutely insane and I always wanted to try it and see if I could do it. And when he posted a new video of his daily routine, I knew it was a sign. It's gonna be tough, but I'm SO down for the challenge.

CASEY'S SCHEDULE:
- Wake up between 4-5am
- 5-7am - work
- 7-7:30 - breakfast with Francine
- 8am - 9:45 - run & get ready for day
- 10am-6pm - work
- 6-10pm - family time
- 10-11pm - gym
- 11pm - sleep

For lot of people who are watching. please know that this is dumb and don't feel discouraged if you fail to do it, in fact most would fail. Casey did not suddenly wake up one day at 4am and started running half marathons. Its years of practice and discipline. If you wake up at 8, try waking up at 7:30 instead. if you do not run, try 5 minutes. Start slow and improve over time. cheers!

Dont make a habit of cheating on sleep. Long term lack of proper sleep leads to mental impairment, memory issues and is also linked to degenerative brain disorders in old age. (I am really fun to have at parties btw.)

@@TheWtfnonamez yes. this. *NO* to lack of sleep I'm Delayed phase sleep disorder sufferer and this routine definitely wouldn't be for me, but whatever any of you do - don't mess with amount of sleep you need. Doesn't need to be all at night or at once..

Einstein needed '10hrs'! Casey, I think (since he started out showing how impossible it is to stay in a NY cycle lane, which was some Jack Ass level socking it to the man stuff) has been the blogger who was willing to go the extra mile, to keep his place and stay on top of his vlogging game, and I'm sure he will be slipping in plenty cat naps on planes, transport etc but hey, he rides the modern wave of his wifi world, and they say exercise is medicine so I guess living in the fast lane (although be it often fun) requires a lot of exertion meditation time for some

Same i makes me stressed out why I know I will have less than 8 hours of sleep. There are people who sleeps 4 hours everyday and do fine (like my ex-boyfriend). For me, i know i will become deeply depressed.

Same, last night i think I got just over 6 hours sleep and I feel so unmotivated, lazy and somewhat moody. It just doesn't work for me lol

For me 8h of sleep is a MUST, otherwise the brain won't work properly and there's no way I'll have a productive day with just 5h of sleep

Of course there are exceptions like a deadline or some special days but otherwise I'll go crazy without 8h of sleep

Actually 8h for an adult is too much. And everybody is different. I personally feel the best on 6-7h. If i get 8. Il get headaches so its too much for me.

you just said it yourself, "everyone". But yes, even though what i wrote meant generalising, i didnt mean it that way. Its hard for me to put words exactly how i want to. Im not a native english speaker. I just meant i had found out where i function and thrive best with the sleeping pattern.

I don't understand why none of these 'super productive' people don't prioritise sleep and get so few hours in. The reality is that if you're at the gym 10-11pm, you're not going to be in bed and asleep by 11pm. Maybe 11.30 at the earliest. If you're then getting up between 4 and 5am, you're only getting a maximum of around 5.5 hours of sleep. It's just not enough to be healthy (7-9 hours according to research). Not only that, you're potentially endangering other people by functioning on so little sleep, particularly if you drive.

This. Also, working until 2am and getting up between 8 and 10 still gives you those productive alone-time work hours plus 6-8 hours sleep, you just get the quiet hours at the end of the day instead of at the beginning (and there are a lot of night owls that really work better on this sort of schedule). There's no advantage or moral high-ground to getting up early rather than staying up late as long as you get the shit you need to get done done, unless staying up and working that late prevents you from getting good sleep.

I've tried this, but used the first few hours of the day as personal development time. Ergo: meditation and planning. However, a few problems arose: -I'm a student, so there were times where my schedule would be disrupted by parties and extracurricular events (my own choice of course, but it doesn't mix well) -I NEED 7-8 hours of sleep to function properly. So coupled with the parties, it killed me. Besides, sleeping less than 6 hours a night has been proven to increase chance of an early death by 12%. I like living, ya know?

I'm a student as well and i have hobbies that take time so i could never do this...also I get that some people might function with a 5-hour sleep schedule but it just seems unhealthy to me.

I have the exact same problem! Since uni just started for me and I moved to a new city, I take very chance I get to meet up with people and make new friends because, well, friends are damn important. So I guess a schedule like this works best for people who can plan their life completely by themselves

Speaking as a personal trainer and wellness professional, abs (in men or women) are almost entirely a factor of body-fat percentage. To create visible abs, you need to be at or around 5-10% for men, or 10-20% for women (women require more body-fat to be healthy, so if you're an XX female you should not go below 8-10%, and many women will stop menstruating below 12%, so be careful at the low end). Exercise can add muscle bulk to what's there, making them more prominent if they are already visible due to body-fat levels. But exercise cannot and will not give you abs if your body fat is above the noted ranges, unless your genes just somehow restrict deposits of fat in your midsection. tl;dr - the answer to your question is: She has very little body fat.

Super impressive! 10KM is already a lot if you're not a runner!! I already subscribe to part of the #livinglikecasey lifestyle although it's a bit shifted. I'm up at 8 am and my extra work and workout hours happen from 10pm to 1am.

You are a LEGEND!!!! This is just so brilliant. I was jet lagged last week so started work at 4am everyday and my productivity BOOMED, however, I was struggling to stay awake by 7pm so.... have a way to go before I can catch up with Casey! ha ha

I was so excited when I saw this on your stories! I literally just finished watching Casey's video myself and though "oh, huh I could totally start waking up at 5am because that would help with medical school and stuff". I love this! I would like to try this! I have been in need of something to help me thru my creative block.. this may be it. Was a night person, but created the paradigm shift out of necessity. Past two years - up @4:15 AM -> 15 minute Meditate -> throw gym clothes on @ gym by 5:15 AM -> Out of the gym door by 7:00 AM -> hour drive to work -> eat small breakfast and recenter with 15 minutes of more meditation in parking lot -> to work -> out by 5:15 PM -> hour drive home -> eat something quick -> do more programming work -> 8:30 PM work on ecomm business -> 9:45 PM relax with a amazon prime series episode -> bed at 11 PM... Weekends up at 6 AM work on ecomm business and eventually hit the gym. Sunday up at 6 AM - get to gym and home chores AND work on ecomm or software development work. Repeat. It becomes a lifestyle that you absolutely crave the productivity. That's about it.

Funny timing! I saw Casey's video a few days ago and decided to take the challenge! My girlfriend and I have been waking up every morning at 4:30am since. Definitely was a little hard to adjust to at first but we're loving it. So much time in the morning//day that we miss!

Sleeping only 5-6 hours and exercising so much every day can be really bad for a lot of people. This guy is hardcore, but getting solid 7-9 hours of sleep every day is unappreciated.

adults should get between 7-9 hours of sleep, teenagers should het over 9 hours, it's import for the brain and body. and exercising everyday is also not health (yes being active everyday, but intense exercise everyday is not good for the body)

If you don't exercise at all, or much, now, don't try to jump into Casey's routine immediately. Work into it slowly.

@@olivereckert2492 I also know people who exercise a lot, don't sleep enough and are sick very often. There are a lot of factors at play, including a state of the immune system, stress, allergies, mental health. And most of the people do not treat sleep seriously enough.

Love the video. I’m usually up between four and five in the morning and I do get my cardio and core workout done by six then my work day starts. I just wish I had a normal work day. I’m a care giver.

Oh my Glob, your 4 - 5 AM self is so me when I wake up early in the morning. I hate being in front of the laptop or any screen first thing when I wake up and yeah, it does feel wrong HAHA! Though I do miss my youth where I was still waking up around that time frame.

Casey is like a freak of nature. Makes me feel inadequate about my physical activity. You're nervous laughter pretty much ensured that I'll probably never try this. I go to sleep at 11, does that count?

I actually started this just this week :D. I'll hashtag it and join in with the videos next week. There's a bit of a problem as my lifestyle is quite different to Casey's so I can't follow it exactly, but I think my version is still pretty radical comparing to how I used to live in the past. I've been working from home and failing, since I changed jobs. Getting and staying motivated has been impossible. After watching this I realize it's because I haven't blocked out my day. I just started back to Bikram hot yoga, and I think if I incorporate that into this type of blocking, I might really be good at my job and better at life! Thank you for this video, and consider me a comrade, for starting tomorrow I'll be #livinglikecasey with you. P.S. I prefer to call it #livinglikeSorelle, because 1. until this video, I didn't know who Casey was and 2. I have only been watching your videos for a couple of weeks, and you seriously inspired me today!
