Nice job on the review. I feel the same way. So much, so that I ran right out and bought one. If you cannot afford three purpose-built vehicles, then the 392 XR might just be for you. It is fun to drive in the city due to its 6.4-liter Hemi V-8. It has the chops that make it a really off-road capable weekend warrior right off the showroom floor. It will beat you up and take your gas money until you learn to tame the beast using the 4-cyl cutout mode. This simple mileage hack allows me to routinely get 14.0 mpg in mixed-driving. For comparison, I averaged 15.7 mpg in my Jeep Mojave 3.6 liter 6 banger. Not really a fair comparison for your wallet though, as you pay a .50 - .75 cent fun tax because it burns premium fuel. I get about 17.5 mpg on the highway. And if your new hobby is checking the WOT on the gas pedal whilst in Off-Road Plus mode you'll get 11.5 mpg (or less if you are a boy racer). If you want great mileage, get a Prius. Yikes! I read somewhere that my 392 has an Alpine stereo with a subwoofer...Oh, I have seen the evidence that it exists, but elect to leave it in the "OFF" position. I prefer to jam to the sound of the glorious exhaust music wafting crackling and gurgling out of its posterior region. Oooh friggin' Rah!

Very cool, Eddie, and great video as always! We've had a 392 with Xtreme Recon package on order since January, hope it comes in soon, but I believe these are kind of a limited production vehicle, it may take a while, especially with all the supply chain shortages.

Offset the 492 V8 weight by putting as much payload on the back of the jeep and you have a nice little build. Otherwise, the handling sucks as a stock vehicle.

The only downside to the 392 is fuel consumption. This engine is gold. Very soon it will go away.

There is no additional lift in a 392 with the recon package. It’s the same suspension height.
