My main crank bearings have started to spin in the cases so I'm trying the retainer in the hope it will solve the problem 🤞. Never used the retainer before so I don't know if it's going to work or not.

I've also put few centre pop marks in worn area as well as using retaining compound in other situations

In all honesty mate I've still not had it run in yet I've had it fired up a couple of times and it's been fine but obviously not the same as ringing it's neck round the track. it's deffinatly worth a try 👍🏻

If you need to remove the bearing in the future, will it still be pullable? Or is it glued tight
@petermelnikov682
@petermelnikov682 2 года назад
there is a loctite 641 that has medium strength, so you can remove it with manual tools
@LBCAndrew

Apply enough heat and it will come right out. Operating temperature of Loctite 638 is 180'C. So above that and it will begin to soften.

@dejv1111 2 года назад
Yes, you can disassamble the bearing later. You have to heat up it with higher temperature.

Not too sure to be honest this has been in now for just over 2 years and still fine but would depend on how much it gets used as well I guess 👍🏻

Do you think this will keep my inner race from spinning on my ski doo pto bearing? Its a low mile sled but went to grease the pro and noticed the inner race moving.
@adamwallis2140
@adamwallis2140 Год назад
Couldn't say 💯 to be honest depends what's taking most the load the inner or outer race? On mine the inner is taking majority of the load and I've glued the outer, if your inner race isn't supposed to spin an the outer is taking the load its definitely worth giving it a go. Mines still working a treat 👌. I've no experience with a skidoo though 🙆🏻‍♂️. Hope you get sorted 👍🏻

Not sure to be honest with you mate without looking into it but I would guess they'll be a different curing time or higher working temperature 👍

Why use 638? Loctite 620 is meant for hot temperatures
@giannhsst

Loctite 2620 is even better
@johnnielsen5076
@johnnielsen5076 9 месяцев назад
Agree. I have used 620 forever no issues. Loctite website even states for transmission housing bearing retention etc. Higher temperature resistance. 638 should work o.k. though.
