@@Some_One_One Yeah, it's been a thing for some time now; haven't you heard? The term ASMR, as a relaxation response to certain stimuli, was coined in 2010 and since then has steadily become well known and popular on the internet. And I agree with gaijinblow ... this computer voice is totally giving pleasant, soothing sensations.

Curious where you get that information from. IMDB has Virginia Ann Ford listed as the voice of the computer and Lara Lindsay as the woman runner. Edit : Ah just notice under Lara Lindsay that she did the computer voice in the TV series. I think that is what you mean.

Yes I got the same impression from reading the books’ synopsis. It’s very rare for a movie to be actually better than the source material

There were widescreen monitors back then, but they were HUGE CRT projection screens, the kind only bodybuilders could move.

This was a typical wide screen format used in movie theaters. This wasn't a TV movie, you had to pay to see it in a very large room with a bunch of other people and a screen the width of the room.

Yes agree with you on that. A darker toned non-politically correct BS would be nice to see these days. I still do want a remake yet concerns me how bad they can become for quick cash instead of concentrating on the story during the production process. Remember that old movie of Disney's The Black Hole it too was supposed to be darker in tone yet was dumbed down for kids cause it was considered too dark for viewers when it was made.

No. We’ve had more than enough remakes. This movie is gorgeous in large part by nature of the time period in which it was made, and how subversive it was within that context
