This was a reunion concert in 2005 in Santa Barbara called "Sittin' In Again". Best live concert I've ever seen, check it out! After 30 years apart, they came together like this. They are awesome.
That is such an underplayed and underrated song. Great choice, especially the live version. Love the way Messina uses that pure clean Stratocaster tone on the guitar lead. And plays it with feeling. The whole band was cooking. Musicians that tight and precise always amaze me when you see them live. Great reaction!👍👍👋
Jim Messina is currently on tour. My wife and I just saw him last month. The gentleman playing the sax is one of the most talented multi-instrumentalist (woodwinds, percususion, flutist and singer) I have ever seen. Jim does this song plus most of his hits with Kenny Loggins. In turn, Kenny also does a version of this song: although one of his renditions, that I heard, was more guitar oriented. Still a rockin' verion.
They had songs that were higher on the charts but this, has always been my favorite track from them. It's just so damn good, and that bass line is soooo damn groovy.
Fabulous song. You would love their “ Move On” and Keep Me in Mind” from Mother Lode album. The saxophonist kills it in Move On. These guys are a rare band. Patience to create the feel in a song.
Kenny Loggins sang the hit song "Danger Zone", from the first Top Gun movie. By the way , that little box the guy was playing was an African instrument, but its name escapes my memory!
People don’t realize that besides their radio hits that it’s only when you see them, or other bands from that era, how great these musicians were. Broken record here, but this era relied on excellence not electronics. 🔥
Great song and arrangement. You should check out Kenny Logins Live at the Redwoods. He takes some of his old songs and injects just the right amount of funk into them. Great reaction video
Great song, music from the best era of music, Special so uplifting, gay, danceable, sing along, great lyrics, great best, great rythum. Wonderful memories. What a groove
Some people said there were tempo changes. There were no tempo changes but they did change on drums and bass to other signatures like to cut time or double time but the original speed never changed. this is a great arrangment.
You need to review their song called Move On. Great solos with what is actually a guitar sax duet, but the fills frm other instruments are amazing. Additionally their song Pathway to Glory has an incredible mid-section with solos on Oboe, harmonica, violin and guitar. They were an amazing act.
Good morning my buddies! This is a great way to start off my week with Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina!! The live version sounds amazing. I would love Kenny and Jim to reunite one last time so I can see them but I know Kenny is touring with Christopher Cross and I don't know what Jim is doing but that would be great to have Loggins & Messina/Chicago tour
You all want to hear something intersting Listen to Poison (band) You're Mamma don't Dance...then turn around and listen to the original from Loggins and Messina. I ahd to get to used to the Land M one I heard the Poison first in High School (dont' judge my age) and loved it.
by the way, it isn't a xylophone or vibes, but a thumb harp. ... and the guy playing the sax was different from the guy playing the flute ... but i loved your reaction! ... these were one of my top fav artists from "back in the day" ...
Oh, aint that the truth! You women can cut us right to the bone with those eyes! But, there's always those times when you heal us with the loving eyes! They make the cuts worth it! Lol!
