When my son was 7 years old he had open heart surgery and living through it was 50-50. Pooh was his favorite character....and this song was his favorite. My son is now 38 but I can honestly say that this song helped all of us get through a very difficult time. Music is a gift and I am grateful for what this song has done for my family.
Listening to this song with my senior poodle snoozing in my lap. He sleeps so much these days and, loosing sight in one eye, he makes a lot of loop-dee-loops when he looses his bearings, but when I get up to walk he figures it out and follows me. We go into the yard and he gets a rush of energy and starts playing like a puppy...then he follows me back in curls up in my lap and drifts off to sleep...and I just hug him close to my heart so I can keep him there forever. "It's hard to explain how a few precious things seem to follow throughout all our lives."
I have a nine year old rescue chihuahua. I found out yesterday at the vet he has glaucoma. Blindness? I just want to love him and care for his needs as long as God lets me!
This song is a special memory from my early teenage years, and it was a favorite bedtime song with my kids. Now, 50 years later, I'm still singing it to my grandkids. I'm guessing it'll be sung at my memorial when I'm no longer counting all the bees in the hive.
I adore this song. Have this LP , Sittin in. Beautiful music. Sang this to me daughter when she was little. And when my grandchild is born will do the same.
I just discovered this tune and this duo today and then I listened to some of their other songs. Some amazing songs by an amazing duo. I am 17 years old and I can’t believe this song was written some 50 years ago

"House at Pooh Corner" was the lullaby I sang to all 3 Sons when they were infants and they'd all pass-out before the song ended. I read them the A.A. Milne's books about Winnie the Pooh (when they grew older) and were they ever surprised that Winnie was a🇨🇦Canadian🐻Bear. (; 🇨🇦✌🏻🎶🎸✍🏻♥️🇺🇸🇬🇧✨🌍💫
Yes brings back the memories. I loved LM, every song. I'd stay in the 70s, I even repeat my 4 years in the United States Marine Corps 73 to 77, just to go back to the 70s. Stay safe and greetings from Charleston, West Virginia.
I watched the Netflix documentary about recording the song We Are The World. Seeing Kenny Loggins reminded me about the awesome Loggins and Messina. They were the best!
Play this for my grandkids. Chasing all the clouds away. The innocence of childhood the truth of loving life. Suffer the little children to come unto me.
Buncha dudes playing and singing about the joys of Pooh...gotta love it☺ Plenty of talent on that stage, starting with Kenny Loggins---and how cool is Jim Messina!😎
It's a little bit fantastic that an English children's book about a Canadian bear could produce such a magical song by two Americans. Music really is universal.
It gets even better... Look up the backstory of how Kenny Loggins was able to even get it recorded and out to the world. As he said in interviews... "you just can't make this $hit up!"
if GOD given me a chance to watch a concert Logins & messina . I Wont Miss that chance i swear :D :D tnx. for posting :D Logins Messina Im your number 1 fan :)
Is not the best....gives me chills hearing this song.... Brings me back to a time when everything was so innocent, new and full of magical possibilities...through the eyes of a child
When you realize that life was better then. And our parents felt their time was better then. And you mourn for the kids who will never know those times.
Good memories 💞 so long ago but never to be forgotten! Love to hear music from folks from the 60;s-70's for the great memories. Peter Paul & Mary, Cat Stevens, ...so many many great musicians.
Still love the song; altho aren't we all getting a bit older??!!! Daughters love the song as well (they won;t admit it to me :)) I called my eldest daughter "Pooh" .....
Is this you Uncle Bob??? I was just checking this out to figure out the interlude. I have always played the song without it. You're right , my daughters always loved this one!!
I am both angry & saddened by what the parents did to there children with the no scores everybody wins mentality and the same that let them watch empty hateful tv such as Jerry s., Jenny, etc.,.etc.... I weep for this country. But hope springs eternal. Please do not let the lives lost in Extreme Pain and solitude go to waste. The Secret to happiness is FREEDOM. The Secret to freedom is COURAGE! Would you sacrifice your life for someone you have or will not ever meet for the chance that they will be able to live in a free society. Please do not let the sacrifices made by others go in vain. Show your love/compassion in action not at the checkout counter for a $1 for a piece of paper in the most recent shape to make you feel guilty. Do your homework and make sure your donations do the most for what you spend...... God Bless all...
I wish they'd keep the measures of 6/8 at the end of the chorus like they (and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) originally did. Helped with the unique whimsy you could get in those days. While it is not as bad as the way many recordings have quantized beats, this "quantizing of meter" is a similar sort of thing for me.
They were fantastic when they were together I know Kenny Loggins by himself had great career and Messina just kinda faded away 🤔😟 Kinda like Simon and Garfunkel Great memories Thanks guys✌❤🌻
There is a code in that song. Doing stuff with your best friend while you are both high, and getting your best friend out of the honey-pot trap he found himself in.
