Today I test out the Logitech G29 Racing Wheel & Rig for PS4. I'll be playing Gran Turismo Sport in VR (virtual reality) for the PS4.
The racing experience is insane, I highly recommend it if you have a passion for racing or driving games in general. Especially if you turn off all driving assists for a real life racing experience.
The physics of how the cars perform and handle are extremely real.

@@OfficerFredPowell The frame rate is fine, but the way the display is made is horrible. It has a display between 1080p and 1440p, and it has an extreme screen door effect, which, to make it easier to explain, is like watching an episode of Invincible, but through a screen door. You can essentially see every pixel and the ones you can’t see that blend into other things have a blue or yellow outline. TLDR; Buy a Quest 2. It’s cheaper and way better.

@@koboa I see what you mean, thanks for letting me know. I might look at buying Quest 2 for PC for the time being until PSVR2 will release. I just hope it will be a huge improvement over PSVR1 for Gran Turismo 7.

@@OfficerFredPowell Oh, the Quest 2 is a standalone headset; it has it's own components and OS. You can hook it up to a PC for SteamVR though.

I wish you could get behind a Simucube sc2 pro and some Heusinkveld pedals! You would lose your mind! If you plan on keeping that set up I'd HIGHLY recommend getting a load cell kit for your brake pedal, it really is a must have. It converts the pedal to measure pressure (like a real car) instead of distance of travel. I got to say I really enjoyed watching how much you enjoyed that!

Great review,I've got the same setup with a playseat challenge & G29. Absolutely mind blowing,, just to add you can use almost all the cars in your garage. McLaren F1 highly recommend 😁

I just tried it in VR with the wheel for the first time and it's amazing but felt immediately sick going around brands hatch with the big elevation changes, you really feel it in your stomach. It seems like you cant play the actual game in VR though, just these little demo things in their own section which is upsetting

Just change the view to cockpit. Though it’s not exactly like the VR experience mode, it’s really quite good. Crazy when remembering Pole Position and Cruising USA vs. what we have at home now.

for me hitman vr gave me nausea whereas i can play skyrim vr and walking dead saint and sinner with full locomotion for hours with no nausea. i even can handle ace combat vr, not sure why i can only handle himan vr for 20mins XD

That's what I thought too at first. It was really cool playing Dirt Rally in VR, but I got motion sick after 5 minutes. It was sad. But I tried playing for 5 minutes the next day, and, well I still got motion sick, but I also felt a small improvement to my "VR Stamina", but it was still unbearable. The third day I could play upto 10 minutes until it got too bad. The fourth day I could play up to half an hour while feeling only a little sick, but not enough to stop me. The fifth day it was basically gone. I cannot guarantee that everyone will adapt as fast (or slow) as me, but your brain can adapt. My tips for VR racing is to do it everyday. Keep playing until you get motion sick, then take a break, or just quit for the day. There's no point in trying to push yourself at these early stages. Simply sitting racing in VR until you start feeling motion sick should be enough to build VR stamina over time.

Since playing getting my G29 to go with my PSVR, GT Sport VR tour is the only racing game I play. I don’t even care about how restricted it is. Flat screen gaming doesn’t come close any more. I hope Sony invests in VR with the PS5 as even on a base, 500gb, noisy af, day-1 PS4 the experience is absolutely mind blowing

You should try dirt rally 1.0 in psvr. There's even motion camera options. When it's ON you have to have good stomach for it. Lol. It's fix you view so you literally feel every bump on track. Most insane vr racing experience I ever had

IMO This is what VR was made for. Racing games with cockpit view and FPS. I never liked FPS games nor got into them because of that very reason (No VR at the time I was getting into video games). Still liked racing games so got into those. I enjoy TPS games more than FPS but PSVR2 might make me an FPS love hopefully.

I'm new to gt sport so I don't know the track name but there was I track I did with a huge drop in elevation, it felt like I was in a rollercoaster flying down that hill. VR is nuts

I have this setup and I only want to play GranTurismo in VR. Unfortunately the VR in GranTurismo sport is just a "Demo". You can't use the VR to play single player mode missions or multiplayer online. If they make this in Gran turismo 7 I would be so happy and buying PS5 as soon as the game is out.

Hey! I don't know if you know this yet, but you can drive all cars (minus a few without an interior) in VR! You can either get them via buying from Brand Central or from gifts.

With the new PS5 PSVR is going to be 10x better looking. I tried the PSVR on my PC and its just as good as my oculus.

I have the same setup... unfortunately at the first corner I felt my stomach going upside down 🤢 never tried to put it up again, I had much less discomfort with ace combat strangely :o tho after 30min felt the usual Vr sickness

i just got my g29 for ps4/ps5, so far uve conviced me and reminded me about the fact that theres the psvr to this game as well :) i really would love to see how it really is in person to experience the psvr with my steering wheel as well. :) is it best to wait? or is the psvr really a well worth upgrade right now? and feedback and advice please.

Personally the PSVR is a must have. Having just the g29 is a whole lot of fun but add the psvr and it just feels so real. Only downside is once you play with psvr you cannot enjoy the game again without the vr.

I dont like how the base for the pedals flex like that. Once my frame arrives I hope I dont have to strengthen or prop something solid underneath it. I hope the mounts for the steering wheel & Shifter post doesnt flex either. Same for the seat

yeah, the psvr is tracked using light so the camera tracks the lights on the front of the headset, meaning the tracking isnt too good but yes, you do. But it does come with the vr. Also, bonus tip to choose right headset for you: If you mainly are looking for comfort 100% psvr because the goggles hover over your face and are not pushed against your face like almost every other vr which can cause red marks after about 30 mins to 1 hour of play, but if you want performance and good resolution then go for either oculus quest 2 or valve index. Valve if you have money (cost around $1000) and quest 2 for affordability ($299) i have a psvr and an oculus quest 2 and the oculus is cheaper, better tracking and better resolution, also better games in my opinion. Hope this helps!

I like how he just slams the brakes, even in a real car you don't brake like that. You gotta press gently unless the brake paddle you using is an on and off switch type. Great review though

Just recently I decided to lower ffb and it makes huge diff...some cars may work better if ffb is high...also I turned abs off and wow it really is like real....I feel you bro lol I advise anyone to work towards all assist off for a fantastic experience Ps. Don't FIA races allow abs? I'm sure they do

Modem ABS and TCS are completely different from what they were 20 years ago. Many organizations also allow TCS with ABS.

Just played some GT Sport VR after playing ACC and PC2 for the last year or so and I forgot how friggin awesome this is... Sure it doesnt drive anything like a real car, but it definitly feels like youre really driving one.
