I'll give it to Clark, as angry as he was with Jonathan he never used his super hearing or other powers to spy on his kids and figure out who Jonathan was covering for. There are some boundaries you don't cross.
What boundaries. To Parents your kids have no boundaries while they are still in your care. So if your teenage daughter goes out to parties and comes home late its okay because you've set boundaries. So the moment she comes home pregnant it's okay because there are boundaries.
@@Mediocre_Spidey - Yeah, well, aside from the fact that Batman is legitimately insane, he would need to cross that line to even hope to rein in Damian.
So what you are saying is that boundaries are more important than safety? That you aren't allowed to figure out who's giving your child drugs because of personal space? I'm sorry, but it isn't an invasion of privacy, it's a way of protection.
I love the story they wrote for General Lane and that comment of: "Try a better tone, pal" I love his character so much! Sure, he is imperfect and too much of a rule follower sometimes but he is still a great character and one of my favourite ones on the show
A better tone wouldn't have helped anyway. Not when Lois was on one of her hysterical rants. Sam just doesn't get that because he himself has *never* really been able communicate with her either. He thinks the way that she shrieks at her kids and at Clark is normal. I can only imagine what his wife must have been like!
@@adoraiscute24 - Probably helps that Superman is his son-in-law and gave him grandsons. This Sam sees Superman as a part of his family. That's why Sam even showed up in dress uniform for Martha's funeral.
@@daniels7907 not just for the grandsons but like yeah it’s heavily implied Lois is the reason. It makes sense, Sam sees him now as more human and of course his own daughter loves him. Sams fear is always what if I can’t protect my own world and family. Sam is still a bit weary and does things not eh the best for his fam.
@@adoraiscute24 - Because of the family that Clark and Lois have built, this Sam doesn't see Superman as the inscrutable alien with mysterious motives. He feels that he can understand and relate to him, godlike powers or no. I really love that Sam has taken on mentoring Jordan. Rather than fearing his own grandson, he just sees him as needing guidance to make sure he becomes a hero. Sam is not perfect, anymore than even Clark and Lois are. But he doesn't see his family as his adversaries. Their disagreements are pretty normal, all things considered.
I have to say, Lois and Clark were doing the bare minimum for Jordan with his powers. And nothing at all for both boys regarding the heritage that they both have a right to learn.
@@targetseeker Sam is human and he's doing more than Clark did about Jordan's powers. And as I said, both boys have the right to learn about their Kryptonian heritage regardless of powers and Clark completely ignores that. And Jor-El didn't say he didn't know what to do with Jordan's powers genius. He said Jordan wouldn't be like Clark. And he's not. But clearly he has powers and should be taught how to use them.
@@breezy3392 Because Sam is treating Jordan's training as a soldier instead of a grandson while Clark is reluctant to train Jordan because he prioritizes the son aspect over the superhuman one. If you prefer Jordan being a superhero, you will naturally choose Sam over Clark but if you chose Jordan to be a teen with superpowers, you choose Clark's approach. We've already seen one superkid fast tracked to main event status and look what happened and now people are doing it all over again with Jon but even worse (powers asap, method be damned).
@@targetseeker Jordan does not have to be a superhero. But he does have the right to learn about his own powers, not to mention it's just safer if he has some skill with them, and Clark has only done the bare minimum of that. And both boys have the right to learn about their Kryptonian heritage, which Clark has always chosen to ignore. And in prioritizing his sons, how about prioritizing their safety. The boys do not have to be heroes, but danger is going to come to their family one way or another. How many times did they almost die in the last year? Making sure they can handle themselves a little would be protecting them. Raising them ignorant has rendered them helpless.
Fuck man I really need to watch this show. I brushed it off when it was announced because I was super skeptical but now after seeing reviews and some clips, I’m hooked.
@@shakethatnose - Lois definitely does come across as a massive hypocrite every single time she yells at the boys about getting themselves into danger. Gee Lois, *who* do you think they might have picked *that* up from?
@@daniels7907 LMAO I feel like this is 100% correct like she sees so much of herself in them and also her parenting style is yell first and then calm down later
@@shakethatnose - So true! Also, Lois and Clark *lied* to the boys regularly for *14 years* and didn't tell the truth until it became clear that at least one of the boys was manifesting powers *and* they found the spaceship hidden in the barn. Teenagers have built-in hypocrisy detectors when it comes to dealing with adults, and their parents are *major* hypocrites!
Yes Lois, you flunked as an investigative reporter. You missed the shockingly obvious fact that your social outcast son's girlfriend was the person he was so determined to protect. Considering that even the football team were jerks to him most of the time, it shouldn't have been that hard to guess.
@@posionwisp - Jonathan is the official scapegoat being used by the students of Smallville High to take the blame for them using X-K to cheat at football (which Jon started doing as well). He then (stupidly) decided to take the blame for his dealer/girlfriend. This resulted in Smallville having to forfeit the entire football season and Jon now has to take classes online because he's not allowed in school. Candice is basically the only person still talking to him for anything that isn't blame. Jordan couldn't care less about being popular at school, seeing as how he is busy steadily becoming Superboy.
@@daniels7907 I really hope at some point before the season is out, Lois & Clark really talk with Jonathan, because either before the Season is out, or in next season he's probably going to run away from home and disappear.
@@omarcogle1965 - I do think that Lois and Clark are being *very* hypocritical about Jon lying considering that *they* lied to him and Jordan for *14 years* and *only* told the truth because the boys found Clark's spaceship hidden in the barn! That said, Jon got himself into a lot of this by refusing to tell the whole story just to protect Candice. For example, he was *not* the first nor the only boy on the team to use X-K. The other boys who were also doping seem to have gotten away with it because Jon stupidly set himself up to take the all blame on Candice's behalf. Even though they are supposedly investigative reporters, neither of his parents seem to have given much thought to that fact. They were in too much of a hurry to blame Jon.
@@daniels7907 True, and I agree that Jon put himself in a bad position when he chose to take the fall for Candace. I think when it came to Lois & Clark, Jon always got the short end of the stick. Even going back Season 1, Lois reamed in on Jonathan when he was inside John Henry Irons van without her, yes she had a valid reason to be pissed at him, but she was harsh. Hopefully by the end of the season, the other teammates own up to what they did too with the X-Kryptonite, since Jon wasn't the only one.
Lois jordan and jonathan think they're grown men because their both sons of a superhero and they're both taking responsibility and sacrifice to saves lives besides your not always gonna be there for them unless you and jonathan are given Powers to you and your family live on forever
Or, as in this very episode, even when Lois *is* there, *she* may be the one in need of rescuing. As has been the case with her and Clark since before the boys were born! The funniest things in this episode were 1) Sam wanting to know how many times Lois has been tied up, and 2) Jordan taking on his father's job of saving Lois.
@@daniels7907 yeah but Kryptonians are practically Immortal Kal-el and jordan will outlive their entire family and everybody on this planet they'll probably live on earth until the sun goes supernova unless lois and jonathan take periwinkle Kryptonite it can give Kryptonian Powers to humans permanently
@@ultimateman3065 do you think Jordan will live as long as his father? I think he might outlive Jonathan an Lois but i wonder if it will be as long as Clark
@@jennbledsoe2683 of course it's like the TV show on Amazon prime video invincible Viltrumites and Kryptonians are kind of alike except one lives longer and the other is immortal when they're on earth one's more powerful than the other mark and jordan both are hybrids to their race's and now they will both outlive every fragile every significant being on this planet they'll live to see this world crumble to dust and blow away everyone and everything they know will be gone but ask yourself what will they have after 500 years
