I do not mind being alone most of the time. It's peaceful actually. I hate feeling alone however... worst if I feel lonely in a crowded space of people I know. Loneliness hits me deeply, and I don't know how to express it properly. It feels wrong.

You are exactly like me my friend ....... you want my advice ? ......when everyone is sleeping stay awake and enjoy the silence and the peace , maybe with some TV turned on for keep you company ..........I know it's hard to live somewhere who you feel alone even if there is people around you ........ ..... you know what is the only thing which I ask for ? .....one small wooden house far away from everyone in the mountains with my dog and if god wants maybe with a woman who will truly love me for this who I am , she will respect me , she will support me and she will be loyal to me and of course I will do the same for her ........that's all

It’s normal to feel that way. dont be afraid to feel something other than happiness. My problem is that even if I don’t wanna be alone, im too scared to start talking to people unless they talk to me first (they never do I guess im small and not noticeable even tho I feel so big)

Loneliness is a complexed concept. People feel safe because they don’t have to worry about being seen or noticed. This could be a benefit but if you are lonely for a while you’ll start to notice that you’ll feel hopeless and depressed. As Drake Von Drafus *a poet* once said “Don’t interact with the flesh if afraid but with the leaves” meaning you can interact with nature while being alone to create a combination and a perfect environment to create peace with yourself.

Trust me you r right and every person who has been lonely long enough hopefully has found this truth. But the part that's still human wants to feel human and prolly that yearning makes it even more sweeter whatrver connection comes along or atleast the feeling of it. 😊 and we lonely lads don't get too many of them.

I'm alone in my room, it's 1:30 am. No body else in my home is awake. I drew a phone background, I played with a stuffed animal. My lights are on, my room is messy. At night is when I'm alone, it's when it's peaceful for me and when I get my time to recharge. I enjoy being alone, it's nice. But sometimes I want others around, not talking, but in the same room. I was emotionally exhausted, I'm dealing with a person in a bad household. They vent /everything/ to me. Even when I was alone this week, I wasn't. I broke, I vented and sent it to a chat. That happens when I'm alone, somedays, I suck it up. Because I feel like I'm alone in the world. But I got so much support from my friends. I cried, I am crying, I cry when I'm alone. That's when I can be weak. I do it, I am human, I am not male nor female, I am not happy nor sad. I am me. And I am alone. But not always.

Yes, I'm at my loneliest I've ever been, no irl friends, no gf, no one talks to me, i try to talk but they all look at me weird, i get ignored or i have to put in way too much effort to keep something going while they put none. It's getting so bad that i just get home, sit on the floor and start sobbing, with more and more frequency as time goes on. It's not like I'm not going out, i recently started college, but like I said, it feels like I'm invisible, i feel so cut off and isolated despite being around people, I've been trying to get out there more but it's tough when no one sees or acknowledges you. I think this loneliness is making me get depressed because I'm having so many suicidal thoughts lately, i even went ahead and started writing a letter last year in case something pushes me over the edge and i lose control. Everywhere i look people are hanging out with friends, talking, laughing, kissing their gfs, hugging, and I'm here, alone and invisible and i keep wondering what's wrong with me. I tried to "throw" myself out there more not so long ago and everyone just made fun of me and humiliated me, it was ugly when i got home that day and it took the will of a demon to keep going. I don't understand. It's messing so much with my head that i can't think straight anymore, it's hard to differentiate dream from reality at this point, sometimes i try thinking back to a happy memory but i then realize it was just a dream(total dream recall is a curse!). I tried asking for help but i got tired of listening to the thousands of reasons why this happens and thousands of ways to get humiliated while trying to fix it, I'm done being a punching bag. But i also don't want to be in this void anymore, is having no self respect the only way I'll get to not be alone anymore? Ever since i was a child it was like this, I'd either get left on the sidelines and ignored or I'd be humiliated and used as a punching bag, there was never an in between. What I'm trying to say is: Don't isolate yourself, loneliness is NOT a good thing, it's like a disease that will slowly hollow you out bit by bit. Go out, experience things, don't be so quick to cut people out or to stop talking to them, make friends while young. Thinking back,i think i brought this on myself and deserve what i got. So please change course and start connecting before you start feeling this disease in you.

I'm literally in the same exact situation as you. I won't tell what you have to do but only what helped me to feel better about this. I just started not caring about others, and I know it's hard not to (I'm still working on that lol). People are going to be mean, and you can't change that, so why stick or feel bad with something you can't change for the better. Being with the person that loves you the most (yourself) can be the best feeling in the world if you let them inside. Try learning to play an instrument, a new language, painting, all of these can help you to understand the only one that really should matter is yourself and you alone. It's alright you're thinking all those suicide things, I myself though of jumping into a train or cutting myself, but when I understood this would only worsen things instead of letting me be free from the pain I was, I never did. Good times will come, it may not seem like that but they will. You have to fight for it even if you feel like you can't, there's always hope. I pray that one day you'll be happy with yourself, living wherever you want to live, with anyone you want to be with. You truly are an amazing person and I hope everything goes great in your life. I give you all the luck I have.

Don't force yourself to make friends take it slowly you can't force friendship if you do you aren't friends its fine to be lonely and alone but if you hate it you can change it easily you don't need to look good or be smart just be with people you THINK you can trust if they hurt you learn from it learn what to say at what situation and what not to in 2024 its the easiest generation to make friends regardless of age dont force yourself on anyone or people will be weirded out dont act like you're friends with someone if you are not just be kind and maybe make a funny careful remark on a topic you can make friends but you cant make love i found the love of my life in a video game sadly we have to be separated form each other i love being in a call with her she knows me more than i know myself sometimes we plan on getting married even if we can't we'll try and that is all you need commitment you dont need to be super handsome or cool be kind and be YOU dont be sad that you dont have friends but be ready to Make some to everyone who see's this i wish you good luck because if you really want it and know you deserve it What you want will happened dont stress out You Can Do It :) have a great day and if you're cool i dont mind make a few more friends ;)

I'm starting to give up. I'm 18 in 9 days. I haven't celebrated any birthdays ever because I've had nobody to celebrate with, what's the point in feeling achievement when I have nobody to feel it with. I have actually never felt love, never felt wanted, never felt "cool," never felt appreciated, I've only felt pain. I genuinely believe I am so broken from all these years that I can no longer allow myself to feel again. I'm grateful for everything I've learned about myself, but I don't like what it costed me to know this.

I never really saw it as loneliness, just living in solitude. Sometimes you need a break from people, either the world puts too much pressure on you or you just get burned from repeating the same day over and over. Loneliness is when you have no one to talk, love, or not even family not being family, but when you see you still have you, that is when you are living in solitude. If you can't do anything about it, don't stress. But if you can, then don't worry and do what you can. In the end, you can still say, "I did my best.". The one thing I share is to be humble, thankful, and most importantly, learn to not care how other's feel towards your work habits as long as they're good. Till then, God bless. Loneliness exists so that we may know what it means to feel together. Light cannot exist without darkness. Both are necessary, one cannot be without the other. It is a natural balance and many fail to come to terms with that. I imagine most of us here understand this. That is why you can feel comfort in both.

This loneliness used to bring me blissfulness. It used to bring me happiness. It used to bring me peace. It used to bring me serenity and a tranquility like no other. But after I confronted some past mistakes of mine and acknowledged certain things. After the partner who I thought to be together with me for forever and more left me after a year of being together. This blissfulness, happiness, peace, serenity, and tranquility disappeared. This loneliness now brings me nothing but pain and sorrow. I try to sit with it and move forward. I try to move passed it and continue on but I just can't seem to. Things aren't the same anymore. They never will be. Yeah that might be okay but I'm not happy anymore. Not happy with myself, not happy being alone, just in constant sorrow. Nothing brings me joy anymore. And the thing that used to bring me to a zen like peace that I thought was only attainable in dreams, now is what causes me the most pain. It's what I'm most afraid of. Being alone.

I wrote this in regards to actually enjoying loneliness. It might sound strange, but I guess because it's been my natural state of being for so long, I'm really only comfortable when alone. I want to be an astronaut I don't want to rise to just the moon. I want to travel alone, in this nocturnal despair surrounded by the stars, sharing stories with beings that are all over and unfamiliar everywhere. I want to introduce infinty to eternity and watch them fall in love. To only ever see true love, never actually feeling it and remember that one girl i left long ago and far behind. I want to think to myself "I wonder where she is now" but never find out for sure. I want to see that in another veered off course of my existence i have a wife and children who graduated and lived a life of their own too. I want to feel the loss that lives within my choices. to forget this life and all societies finite beliefs. I want to die somewhere between heaven and hell watching gamma ray bursts and quasars used as weaponry in a war against Andromeda. I want to know my life was bitter sweet, sad and beautiful. Lonely in a way only a man whos died a hundred times and lived a hundred and one lives could know. I want it to all be just a dream about a family i should have had. to wake up next to a blackhole and fight to escape the event horizon. And then, i want it all to fall through time in a big crunch. Pulling my every particle back on through to the place where it all begins. And i want to learn to miss the disparity and the countless time driffting through black fabrics alone. Then I wand to win that nostalgic ticket that rips me far away all over again The end I want to live, an for me this world is not life and im afraid we are all dead here on this rock together crawling in the darkness searching for the pieces missing.

The worst thing about depression is you know you are depressed and you can't stop doing things that make it worse. You are falling faster and faster and you are paralyzed with it and you do nothing to stop it. Sitting in the dark replaying every conversation, trying to figure out how you fucked up the only happiness you have had for as long as you can remember. Which missed cue, what offhand remark caused her to look for love with someone else. You were just getting used to the sunshine and the light that seemed to flow from her soul and then suddenly you were falling in the dark with no reference points, no way to stop. The only thing keeping you from ending it all is that, even now, it would make her sad and you never wanted to do that;

I disagree, I hate being alone. I recently realized that I’m sort of an extrovert. I *need* people to talk to, I love talking to people, I’m just not good at it. Thus I am alone, but ‘bliss’ is not how I’d describe it.

I miss having someone to share my life with. I don't miss this specific person anymore, but I really fucking miss everything we did together. Going out on dates, staying home and watching anime, kissing, cuddling. Having someone to look into their eyes and just feel safe and loved... I know I'll probably get to have that again someday, with someone even better. Someone who genuinely means it when they say "I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you". But for right now, I'm alone, and it gets so soul crushing to see other people being happy and cute together. I know it shouldn't make me bitter, but I can't help but still feel pain in my heart 💔💔💔

honestly i think its vids like this that kill us. My life is so fucking shit and i notice i gain even the teeniest moxie from holding my mind and remaining steadfast. I've been completely isolated from society for the last four years. At this point J'm basically a hermit...and I'm thankful for it. I always felt lonely in a crowd...but when I am TRULY alone I am at peace.

Do not mistake loneliness for solitude or independence, being truly alone is the worst outcome of any life, if you don't understand me, imagine yourself in your 80s dying alone and then forgotten forever. Make peace with yourself, but struggle in life to never be alone, that special someone is priceless.

At the end, I did ended up lonely as I thought. Of course my friends said they’ll never leave and they’ll stay, but we all now that nothing lasts forever, and to find real friends nowadays it’s quite difficult, yet listening to this calms me down, yes I wanna cry so bad and loud, but I just can’t, I have to keep the happy strong face and I’m only allowed(by myself) to maximum put the im annoyed face…but I don’t feel like I’m expressing what I feel, just because I’m the oldest of 5 siblings and I have to be the example to follow, I don’t have a problem with that, I have a problem with the hypocrites who say nice stuff to my face and then manipulate my only friends to leave me, I have a problem with the fake promises and empty words, I have a problem with my stupid self who is still learning how to not get too comfortable with someone…hahahaha I think I’ve found where to write my thoughts. ❤thanks people, we all need each other in one way or other, it’s true we can live alone but there’s a reason the word friends exists:) so just be careful when choosing your friends, and always take care of them bec they’re difficult to find 😅 have a great day/night ❤

3am, alone in a rented room for university, having financial issues and a load of studies to do... being alone hits different, not like I can't concentrate because of being distracted, but because the feeling of solitude prevents me from focusing on whatever I'm doing, it makes me feel sadness all the time

hey man, hope you doing okay. Its normal to feel like you don't know what you want to do in the future or who you'll become. I personally had similar feelings as well. If you feel like this, its good to do your best and push forward while not being harsh when tripping over. Also to enjoy yourself, we sometimes get mixed up in our head so much that we forget the nice stuff that life gives. Like pizza. whatever you doing at the moment. Im proud of you man. Especially being positive, that stuff is hard to do.

I feel the same way sometimes. And though it may not feel this way, though it may *seem* like nobody cares, if you kill yourself it will affect many people greatly. Imagine the person who finds you. Who is it? Your neighbor? Your brother/sister? Your parents? Your friends? Whoever it is, someone *will* find you. They won’t forget it, it will destroy them. Life *will* get better, taking your own life isn’t worth it. It doesn’t just affect you, and it’s a permanent solution to a problem that, despite it not feeling this way, *is* temporary.

i used to feel bad/sad for being alone always but ever since I figured out the true colours of everyone I prefer being alone and less talkative and i also feel happy on my own like no unnecessary fights or hurtful words and no overthinking just being good on my own. And if someone tries to approach me I mostly avoid conversations........clearly what i'm saying is i built a ice wall between anyone and me 🤌

Мне 17, я сейчас далеко от своей семьи и живу в другой стране, так как поступила сюда на учебу. Списываемся и созваниваемся редко из за проблем в коммуникации между странами. С друзьями тоже теперь общаюсь намного реже из за той же проблемы. Как только я прилетела чувствовала счастье и свободу от всего. Оказалось что во взрослой жизни много проблем. Было время, когда я совсем не хотела просыпаться, но все равно заставляла себя ходить на учебу. К счастью, сейчас все уже лучше, хоть иногда такое состояние и возвращается. Чувствую одиночество, тоску и свободу. Часто плачу. Но я стараюсь не опускать руки. Вечерами и ночами пересматриваю старые фотографии и видео, где я с друзьями и с семьей, где я счастливая, где я настоящая. Тут у меня никого нет. Взрослая жизнь не казалась такой сложной и одинркой.

Its actually a good way to cope with insanity and learn to accept yourself in the light and darkness. Things come things go, with great highs and great lows. I never really feel lonely when I’m alone maybe that’s just a coping mechanism for isolating behaviors I have I mostly only feel lonely when I’m with people I know and I can’t get a word in or they can’t hear me cuz I’m too quiet or they just flat out ignore me I feel lonely when ppl don’t see who I am as a person they trust words of someone else and never really look at me it’s like I’m the king of being invisible even my girlfriend that I love very much makes me feel unheard sometimes like if I wanna vent it’s immediately her problems mean more than mine I mean she has a lotta stress on her and I listen to all her stress but it feels like nobody truly hears me (I love my girl very much it’s just one thing that bugs me she’s perfect every other way) Idk why I’m still typing here it’s late I’m just gonna go to bed now lol
