Hey Louis! Killer New Pit! 🤘 This is no average backyard Pit....this is a Money Maker! 💵 Load that bad boy up! 👍 My friend at D's Backyard BBQ recently got one of these also. He had all the nozzles routed to be under the shelving. 👍 Congrats on this! Metal On!!! \🔥/

Thank you for watching. I thought about having the cart table mounted over the ball valves- but I don’t bend over as easy as I once did and figured I needed easy access. 😂

Congrats on the New Pit. You should throw a shout out for the freight carrier, It might cause them to clean up there act. As well as the crate from lsg is I think the carrier disassembled the crate to get the footprint down. I just seen in local paper today weber coming out with 4 different color 70th edition 22" kettles. Your Pit is one of my favorites, I'm not sure between wood acquisition and patience needed to tend stick burner it would work for me. Every time I wake up I realize I was dreaming feeding the sticks to the offset. You should check out ABSPitboss it looks like good Pit for catering. Looking forward to your IVS adventures.

Thank you for watching. I saw those 70th anniversary Webers - I am eyeing the hot rod yellow one. A fellow Weber buddy heard they will not be a one year only for those.

Thanks for the review. I already have a Pitmaker Vault but with another property I'm thinking about giving this smoker a try. It weighs about 75 less than the Vault and it's larger so you know some corners must be cut somewhere, but I do like the stainless shelves and being able to add water from the top. One concern, when you're opening & closing the doors and moving things around, I'm hearing the big hollow sound of what seems like inexpensive construction. The Vault is one solid piece of equipment, this looks a bit more budget-minded...but hopefully that's just the microphone picking-up noise. How have you enjoyed it so far? Also, does the smoke simply come right out the top? I know it has a 'rain catch' so it would seem the square opening on the top center is a direct port right out of the smoker? They claim is cooks evenly at all points in the cabinet but I rather doubt that....any thoughts please?

It is the best. The Vault cooks way too hot. Always. Plus they are out of business. 😂

Thank you for watching. Oh man this one is going to get used a bunch- my other grills are going to be jealous. I like the pellet smoker with the FireBoard controller but I told the wife I am not buying a new grill for a while - wink wink

How would you compare it to the Humphreys?
@LouisatRshackBBQ
@LouisatRshackBBQ 2 месяца назад
That is a great question. I looked at Humphrey’s Qued beast when I was shopping for a vertical smoker cabinets and really it just came down to the stainless steel grates in the Lonestar and the competition cart which makes it very stable. I had bought an offset smoker from Lonestar before and loved their customer service. I think either one are quality units and cook the same.

I've got one and my only issue is when all the shelves are in there's no room for large meets on most shelves.

Poor boy. 26 degrees. I got up at 7 :30 CST and it was 3 above. I can't keep with you and your toys. Wouldn't you use those dividers for creating a snake method for long slow cooks?
@LouisatRshackBBQ
@LouisatRshackBBQ 2 года назад
Thank you for watching, yes the dividers are to create a snake in the charcoal box

Your going to eventually fall in love with her, you just need to get used to her. Wish I could have been there to help you get her out of the crate. It was trickier then you thought, right. I tried to warn you. I believe you were correct in going with the casters considering your planning on keeping it in the foodtrailer. Give me a call sometime and I'll give you a heads up about things like the built in water pan. I love it but there are things to consider when using. I'll get some pictures taken as to how I have " plumbed " the air and water drain on the left side, your going to like that. It's hard for the veiwers to appreciate just how big this smoker actually is. Or how much it weighs. She is a BIG girl. I can tell you without using the fan she will run 225°f to 250°f all night long. Sleep, wonderful wonderful sleep. No need to spritz water during the cook if you fill the water pan. It creates a wonderful moist atmosphere. Then like the instructions say when you're down to the last half hour of cook empty the water pan so things finish off with a good crust on the meats but also dry's the inside surfaces to reduce possible rust and mold between uses. There will be a learning curve with her just like ALL cookers. But in the end you're going to love her. I'll get those pictures sent soon. Looking forward to seeing your first cook. 😁👍🌤🔥🍻

Thank you for watching. I somewhat got lucky. The shipping company somewhere removed it from the pallet and placed the crate box frame around it- which means they rolled it into the trucks instead of pallet jacking or forklift it in and out- so I had to saws all the wall off in the back of the semi trailer and roll it onto the lift gate and roll it into place. It did have some scratches on the back but over all made it intact. I have had ppl tell me to call out the shipping company based on my experience with them - but I am sure Lonestar gets quotes and goes with the cheapest. Got a catering job this week where I need to do 20 pork butts- we will see how well it does. (I have done 2 test cooks and feel pretty confident I got it dialed in where it will stay at 250 ish all night- I call it a modified snake layout of the briquettes)

Dang, sitting drinking beers I'll tell you my experience and the discussion I had with Criss. Remember I'm a trucker of 30 years. Anyway that's very bold doing that much meat in first cook. In the video you looked a bit confused with the dividers. They work in pairs,three sets, and I do recommend using them. I made a rule for myself to always start with 2 full bags worth in the fire chamber. Granted I'm never going to be doing a 30 hour cook. But neither am I EVER going to get caught with my pants down around my ankles and run out of fuel because I didn't fill up. There's a bit of a trick adding chunks of wood for more and different Smoky flavor. Don't add to much because it can move the fire more quickly threw the brickets. As Dash says often " ask me how I know" so be careful there. May is when our farmers market begins 2 months from now so I'm getting a little nervous that I won't have everything ready so I'm beginning to look at what I "have" to vs what I " want" to do". I know you understand. Anyway good luck. As you get accustomed to your IVS there will come a time where you will think how did you ever do things without her. Till then 🍻🔥🌤👍😁
