You delivered this talk with clarity, compassion and humor - it will help so many people to broaden their thinking on gender and to break out of the binary thinking that is so deeply ingrained in our language, socialization and systems. Such an important topic for people to educate themselves on. Too often, people don’t understand something and they label it as “bad”. Learn with an open mind and embrace change.
“We’re going to have to practice they/them just like we’re going to have to practice hamster.” Buh-ril-yent! One of the best TEDx talks I've seen. So generous of them to present the topic in such a relatable way. This talk should be required for all educators and employers.
Its not about whats old and whats new. Its about the truth. Truth cannot be false because its old or because you become uncomfortable with it. If you want to look at things differently because you are uncomfortable with its truth then you live in illusion just you become comfortable. So for the comfort of everyone let us not impose our illusion to everyone.
Growing up is coming to terms with the harsh truths of the reality with which you live. People are refusing to grow up and dive deeper into delusion. Sad to see as this has typically marked the end of empires through our history. However, I do believe there is light at the end of this woke and mass psychosis tunnel.
Some people are uncomfortable driving cars, becuase cars are new to the them. Or some people are uncomfortable around new people wether they are family or new classmates. But they have to become comfortable with said classmates to have friends, or cars in order to drive. Or in order to get to know their parents parents
@@user-hf4eh2ts3q it only matters when this begins becoming forced speech. Which in some first world countries it has started e.g. Canada bringing in legally binding pronouns for addressing these confused people.
