First of all, you need a title. This is the easy part. All you have to do is take one word from word list A, and then another word from word list B, and then you can either separate them with 'Of' or 'Of The', or put the word from list B first with an optional apostrophe-S on the end. I'm glad that Yahtzee is finally realising/mentioning more of the flaws in Dark Souls 2, because I can't help but feel in his Zero Punctuation episode of it, he sort of pushed through like "Well, it's another Dark Souls, so it's basically good" without really going into the usuall level of depth

Having just watched this, I looked at my Steam Library, because I knew I'd had it on my wishlist but then couldn't remember anything else about it. Turns out I did buy it back in 2015. Apparently I played it for 25 minutes and then never touched it again. I have no memory of buying and no memory of playing it. I doubt Steam will give me a refund, but I'm requesting one for shits and giggles anyway. Can't hurt to try and even if they refuse it isn't a big deal. It can just stay in the large number of games I've bought but never actually played; or have played but never actually finished. Thankfully I'm much more selective about the games I buy these days; kind of have to be at the prices even when they're on sale.

I’ve beat the entire Soulsborne series multiple times.. and I actually like Lords of the Fallen. I’m actually replying the game right now in 2019. The games good when you’ve outplayed Dark Souls.. and don’t want to play Bloodborne.

this was shown off in a beta showing in londons comic con a year before it came out and the dev said it was meant to be 20 hours long, counting deaths and stuff like that. he did seem pretty happy with the game and the showing was the reason i dont go to any forums or showings of games anymore

pretty spot on, although I think its worth a try. It is a pretty solid game and can help you get used to the formula of dark souls if you are having true much trouble with dark souls in the first place. Far from perfect but as far as clones go we have had far worse. I might be biased since I got it off xbox live gold for free. Of course if you have xbox live gold you might as well give it a shot.

I found this game to be quite fun. Beyond hit boxes sucking, and you without a shield was a bad idea. I love the souls games and for a small dev team, this game was fun. And even without the soul-style graphics (looking at you ocean view in medula), it looked very pretty. Especially the grave warden's scythe's smokey trail effect. :)

Well if you play a warrior type class in any game you will most likely get huge ass armor to wear. If you want to look sleek and more subtle then another class is better suited for you. I do wish more games use the transmogrification option like in WoW, where you change the looks of your armor but keep the stats. Which can also be done for weapons and such. It's such a god damn useful option to have!

The Iron Maiden line fucking killed me, brilliant as always!

I will give a point to *Lords of the Fallen* for _realism_ of all things. The larger weapons are definitely quite slow, with lengthy start up and recovery times as your character works to get over their inertia. The dodge rolling as well is... about as on-point as an actual dodge roll can be in full armor can get, and is like Dark Souls' fat rolls, only somehow even more clunky. It's a shame that the character/creature designs weren't more realistic as well.

Well finally! Been waiting since... Forgot when this game came out because I wanted to forget this game...

Nice to see there are other people who liked this game, not just. At least, they liked some part of it.

I think I don't agree with Yathzee this time. I really enjoy how the game rewards you for taking risks instead of punishing you for what you've done wrong, and I also like how the movements are made in a way that makes you feel the heaviness of weapons and armor, and actually feel realistic. The fact that the game is short if a pro to me, because it makes NG+s more enjoyable (e.g. NG+ in Dark Souls. I love the game, but I don't find just repeating it with different enemy stats appealing. Lords, however, adds new features every time you finish the game, and that, plus its duration, makes it really enjoyable).

Yeah, the "only giant dudes in armour boss fights" thing is the final nail in the Might Just Go Back & Try Another Dark Souls Class coffin.

I know that this is not related but please bring back let's drown out. I really liked that series.

15 hours into this game, having a blast. Likely going to play through a second time with a different class.

I love how people just say that they should rename the channel to Zero Punctuation. I know he has a charming voice and has a nice mix of British and American comedy, I get that his videos would just go warm and smoothly around any channels neck just as the arms of a lover, they could just close on your neck softly enough for you to doubt of his intentions, even when the fingers start closing around you it fells so natural and when she finishes at the same time you do they tense out enough for it to... sorry, I lost my train of thought.

The armor design of LotF looks like if Games Workshop got a hold of Dark Souls.

Between "Random Documents" and "Dudes in Armor" I think Yahtzee might be secretly writing a Broadway musical that he's not telling anybody about.

The game starts interesting, although the style seems like all character were injecting something at the gym to get big. The excess of details in the armors gets cartoonish also. But if the level of difficulty was kept with interesting boss fights, it would be a good game. The problem is that after the first upgrades we indeed become overpower, and the bosses are incredibly easy, and get easier as we progress. While I was struggling in this game I was having fun, but after some point it was just a walk in the park.

The magic gauntlet is beyond stupidly overpowered if you have a presentable amount of the faith skill

For what it was, it was not bad. More bearable once I realize large two handed weapons, and jump attacks were all powerful. Seriously, every enemy can be beaten, including bosses, by using jump attacks. Which are easy to perform, hit hard, and can be followed up with a strong attack for more damage. Also, you can use rage, and literally RB spam a boss to death, no skill needed.

playing this game now because ts free for PS+ and i must say its actually pretty fun despite its obvious dark souls imitation and occasional audio glitches (sometimes the voices no longer have sound) although quitting and reloading seems to fix that. even though the game is pretty much a copy paste of dark souls with some minor tweeks they did it pretty well, im only a few hours in but im really enjoying it so far, the games challenging enough that your not just walking through whereever you want, but also not too hard so you wont get too frustrated, some enemy encounters were a bit tough the first time fighting them....damn spiders lol. but i never got into a position where i was totally stuck yet

I adore the Souls games, but one thing I've never understood is why such a big deal is made out of restarting from a bonfire and enemies returning to life when you die - that's literally every game ever, you're back at the last checkpoint/savepoint and have to do it again and the enemies are back. In every game. Sure, there's plenty that differentiates Souls games, but that concept really isn't one of them.

I hope he wasn't ragging on Quantum Conundrum, because it was amazing. I wouldn't say it ripped off Portal, but was inspired by it. It was also made by one of the designers of Portal... Honestly I like it better. Has more style to it.

Having actually played Lords of the Fallen now that it went on sale... It's pretty decent, I'd argue even quite good. Flawed, to be sure - the combat system can be badly unfair at times. But it's fun if you're into that sort of art style (the one where you wiled a shield as large as your character in one hand and an axe longer than he is tall in the other) and the issues with the combat sort themselves out towards the end once the game's own subsystems start working. I managed to pile so much armour and stability (poise, whatever) on my Harkin that he could run roughshod over most enemy attacks and stun-lock them without getting staggered. Then again, I've not played Dark Souls, nor do I really intend to.

It wasn't THAT bad. Though i agree on the lack of plot, content and relatively short length (counting out that it was designed to force player to do 2 playthroughs for the full experience).

Sadly he didn't mention the shield bash glitch that the devs have made no attempt to fix (last I played it still worked) that was completely game breaking.

Not gonna lie, I didn't have high hopes for this game when I saw the trailer, my thought process was "well, Dark Souls is officially a popular thing now, so copies, ripoffs, spinoffs, or whatever other tastefulness words that exist for 'similar,' BUT my only concern is rather than it being similar is why it will be similar. They are either going to have the mindset 'this is a very fun game and I like the mechanics and the way the story is told' or 'people like this game so we should make something like it.'" After seeing reviews, let's plays, and playing the fucking thing (rented), it's safe to say they made it because people like Dark Souls.

Wait....Why give Dark Souls the credit? When it was in FACT Demon Souls that done this first! Everyone hails the wrong game.

I think I've been watching too much Zero Punctuation. I think this because I recently saw an advertisement for a game, I think it was called 'Dyed Light' or something. My first thought was 'Zombies, how original.' My second was 'This is a prerendered video...' My third was 'Is this first person high pace platformer?' And my final thought before pressing the skip button was 'Can't wait to see the video that stumps this into a well desired grave.'

I mean. The environmental designer for Dark Souls got as far as writing "dark cave with a draw distance of 4 meters" and ran with that. They just occasionally broke it up with that one place outside of the dark cave, Mjolnir or something.
