Thank you for correctly calling out that the 2020 WS title was not a lesser title win. As a statistician with 30+ years of advanced statistics training, teaching, and work experience, I have not seen a single statistic that described the 2020 WS as an easier series to win or an easier to gain access. It was absolutely, unequivocally, a different WS. But anyone claiming it was easier would have said something else if their team one.

You can call me a bandwagon if ya want, but I knew absolutely nothing about the mlb. And I love watching nfl/nba so I really wanted to get into it. I heard a lot about Shohei Ohtani and saw he signed with the dodgers so I started watching them. And since the start of the season I’ve learned I absolutely love Mookie Betts. Very excited to watch more and learn more about the dodgers as a whole.

Everyone considers it a micky mouse because it was. The fact that they haven't won in 30+ years while outspending the league is a testament to that...

It is true in recent years that has been the case, although I'd say the lack of hitting with runners in scoring position has been equally if not more responsible for their defeats. Regardless they made the playoffs what 10? 11 years in a row? It's not like they weren't making the playoffs that year and snuck in because they got hot over a short season. Then in the playoffs they played legit teams, again not like they were fortunate enough to run in to a bunch of teams that wouldn't have made it in during a normal season. Had to win as many playoff games as any team in history to win the championship. If you want to discredit the Dodgers for winning it, what's that say about all the other 29 trans who couldn't win it that year? Since people seem to think it was so easy.

I 100% think the Dodgers are going to try a 6 man rotation. They have the depth for it and I think it's a way to ease Yamamoto into the MLB season and it makes it easier to slot in Ohtani next year. I think pitching injuries are impating the game and I think it will lead to more 6 man rotations around MLB going forward.

It's almost impossible for Ohtani to give that more production to the DH spot than what JD gave them last year. A slight upgrade comparitively for this year. But a big upgrade years ahead.

The infield defense is a big concern IMO. Muncy is barely acceptable at 3rd. Mookie, while a great athlete, we’re asking too much of him. I see the Dodgers trading for a SS at the trade deadline with Lux being on the chopping block. Once in the postseason, you need lights out starters. I don’t know that we have that currently. Glasnow is close but he’s struggled in the past in the playoffs. Yamamoto, well, he did have those 7 strikeouts in 3 innings but then allowed like 4 runs. He’s not a lights out guy based on what we’ve seen so far, but there’s potential there. I don’t know who the other guys is…Kershaw, Miller? If we don’t have a guy, then we have to trade for one before we go into the playoffs.

Speed on the bases and the flip side of that being defense are the two big keys to the “New Rules” baseball, does this team possess an abundance of either? I am not convinced. This is true with honestly any team with prolonged success. The more "popular" teams are the ones that garner the most bandwagon fans, and those typically have the worst ball knowledge. Sure, every team has good and bad fans, but I feel like I find (at least online) the worst fans from teams like the Yankees, Dodgers, Astros, etc... The teams with the most knowledgeable/tolerable fanbases imo are typically the middle of the pack type teams. I'm saying this as a Braves fan who has heard some stupid comments these past few years from their own fanbase.

Baseball should make the season shorter and schedule double headers so traveling a minimum of 2 hours for a 2 hour game isn’t a total waste of my time. Mlb ruined my favorite thing to do. Go to Phillies games. for what? So ppl who don’t gaf ab this sport will maybe leave it on in the background sometimes? I have to travel a minimum of 2 hours to watch baseball. The Dodgers 92 win season looks like a few key injuries and their defense being their weakness. I love Max Muncy but they should not have resigned him when they got Shohei. Mookie is a HOFer so he could adjust well to SS but he could also not. They are also realizing pretty quick paying a guy 700 mil to be a DH is stupid so they’re gonna plug a guy into the outfield who’s only ever pitched and hit. Yoshi wasn’t thrown a strike yet this season that wasn’t barreled. I don’t think this is a team that’s going to be that much better than last season.

Shohei has played right and left field in the majors. For the Angels. In like 2019 and 2021. It was to help with his recovery from TJ and just to that he could stay in the game before they added the two-way player rule. Dodgers aren't freaking out about that at all.

They paid him 700 million dollars because he's Shohei. He'll bring in much more than that even if he never pitches the same again or is JUST a DH. They've tapped into a huge market that will pay off his contract way before he's done playing.

This Dodgers team will win less than 100 games. Yamamoto is a total stinker. Glasnow is made of glass. IL rotation is not going to be their old self. Defense, big problem. They'll score in inconsistent bunches

expanded playoffs and no home field advantage while in the middle of a pandemic. everyone agreed to the 60 game season and everyone had the same chance to get in on opening day. focus more on rooting for your own team instead of hating on the dodgers. also, bro bro bro bro bro bro bro shut the absolute fuck up

We all want the Dodgers in the World Series because we want the best team in baseball in the World Series. We’re upset because MLB has created a revenue sharing system that doesn’t allow every team to establish a dynasty with no end in sight that AVERAGES 100+ WINS. The dominance of the Dodgers is absurd and should make everyone sick to their stomach.

Can you guys do a Shohei Ohtani special edition video. Bring in Chris Rose too, this is crazy. I’m not a Dodgers fan but I love the history of the game. Ohtani could be in the Shoeless Joe Jackson and Pete Rose class and I wouldn’t have thought that in a 4.5 million years. The story sounds suspect as hell and clearly MLB and Ohtani’s handlers are withholding information. His interpreter doesn’t give me vibes of being a gambler who gets in multi million dollar deficits but what do I know. Even the randomness and timing of the marriage is very convenient. I don’t know what to believe any more about the situation. I personally think there’s a good chance Ohtani gets suspended or maybe even banned but we shall see. As some who drove 5 hours to watch him play, I hope he will be cleared.

Dodgers are way overrated. Defensive weaknesses at third, short , and especially second. Hayward is a below player even though he has a good arm. Watch my words, plenty of errors on the way. Take the under, it’s a sure bet.
