Imagine a 13 year old game that is starcraft 2 being played more than lost ark in korea lol. Game is certainly doomed to die at this point. They're so out of touch with the players it's baffling

I quit LA about 4 months ago now. When I saw that they were bringing more RNG gamba mechanics into the game (the alchemy system or whatever) was the last nail in the coffin. I think that in an MMO you should be able to make reasonable progression when you put in the time, but in LA you can grind for months, save up tons of materials and RNG decides to screw you and you wont get anywhere near the highest raid tier you could do. And this is not even factoring in all the other mobile game mechanics, with the daily energy and lockouts. For me it is back to FFXIV until something actually new and good comes out. I liked LA, its a beautiful game but it is going down the same road as Blade and Soul did.

Never thought I will see the day when we can compare the disaster between Bless Online and Lost Ark. And here we are. 3-5k players per region OMEGALUL

The saddest part is that everyone can easily see how to improve the game dramatically, and it has a lot of potential, but they're choosing not to do anything and let the game die. I've quit the game half a year ago in hopes to rejoin it some time later, but now it's obvious there's no later. At least not in the foreseeable future. The game is in a bad state, and they're not doing anything impactful to fix it. Gg, rip lost ark

I personally was excited to see news about the MOBA PvP mode, the only thing that would bring me back to the game but unfortunately LA doesnt care about pvp at all.

This has the been the saddest week for me, my friend slowly quits now my static are losing players now with the lost ark not doing anything to resolve this daily fatigue it really the nail on the coffin, I'm really sad.

I put in 1300 hours or so (main Bard at 1490), I was burn out (the dailies, gatekeeping). I didn't even attempted Clown Raid, because its a 4 player raid. If someone messes up in that raid, I predict people will (go nuts / rage / kick-player / blame you). People often suggest joining Guilds, but guess what the guilds have joining requirements, that's gatekeeping as well. I even tried to do Argos/ Valtan / Vyka, I can't even join with my char with 4x3 engravings, lvl 5-7 gems, ilvl 1460. I love this game but can the developers do something about it to improve the casual players experience with this game...

Good video, I agree with all of it really. To me, I wouldn't mind having daily/weekly homework if I could decide how many char I want to play (that answer is 2 for me). If I were to get all the rewards (mats from guardian/chaos, gold from raid) on my 2 "marked as earner" characters, to me it would be a win. I'd get the same amount of gold, and the same total amount of mats, but this time it would be useful because it would be on the char I want to play, like the bound leapstones. Its painfull to see all my others characters with 4-5-6k bound leapstones on them, but I have no desire to spend gold to hone them further, because I just want to play the 2 I enjoy. I dont know.. after 3600 hours for me, the last month I have played a way less and I'm slowly drifting towards the full quit. Anyway I'm ranting, good video man, keep up the good work!

Pretty sad. Before LOA ON I had high hopes for LA, I defended the game, was super hyped because my Glaivier finally got a big buff, learned Kayangel super extensively and looked forward to the future. I played 40-50 hours per week, woke up for LOA ON (I'm from Germany), made some coffee, watched it on Zeals stream and the hopes I had for this game were crushed instantly. I didnt even log in since LOA ON. Now I am just doing Kayangel and a few other raids on my main until Akkan is out, gonna clear Akkan one time and quit the game after. 3-4 other people I hang out with in LA also quit the game soon to "escape the sinking ship". Sad how one single convention like LOA ON that is supposed to hype the players up can destroy a game in an instant and send a ton of player in doomer mode.

Quit the game when Argos was the latest raid because of that exact same fatigue you mentioned in the video but still followed the game because i wanted to see it get better. Farming chaos dungeons tens of times a day just to keep up with honing materials, doing the same shit on alts aswell just to feed the materials on to your main in hopes of gaining a few honing levels was eventually too taxing. At it's core the gameplay loop is excellent, the movement/ability usage was great, the exploration was great, abyss dungeons & argos were great, but Smilegate & Amazon Games seem to have an unified effort to take the game into the ground.

Do or Die event and they come up with stuff like this. So cringe. Well, we all knew it will be a disappointment. I think we will see 15-20k concurrent numbers sooner than we thought lol. With 50% of those still being bots of course 🤣

I stopped playing LOA 2 months ago due to exams. Just came back to create a slayer and bought the skin, but since then I have not touched the game for 2 weeks already. Just thinking about doing CD, weekly raids and honing to 1580 after stopping for sometime just makes me feel lethargic.

I was watching Zeals reacting to Asmon reacting to his video lol. Pretty much this week I had an epiphany that this game has no future as of right now. I played 3100h and enjoyed a good part of it despite the insane grind (it was fine for me to watch something on the side and chill while grinding). I pretty much agree with what everyone is saying. This week for me it was the 3x6 raids I have to do every week to get my measly gold income. Am I going to do Vykas HM every week for the rest of my life? I actually tried helping low rosters and mokokos but this week they just lied about knowing mechs and we wiped for hours. Meanwhile, the bussers are exploiting these new players for gold and playing with other bussers only, so effectively they don't play with the rest of MMO population, their only purpose is to brag I guess? They can enjoy their gold and gems all alone in a dead game. Also doing 12x Hanumatans and 12x Chaoses every other day gets boring eventually, even though like Asmon said Hanu raid by itself is really fun, but not 12x... It takes multiple hours to get done. Honestly it's not worth my real life time anymore. The progression system in this game make no sense - it's an upside down pyramid. The further you get, the more you have to grind. No resets. So the endgame is only reached by the smallest percentage of players, while fuck the others? How is this sustainable? Throwing expresses passes to start with higher ilvl is just literally kicking the can down the road while not fixing the problem. I actually see the advantages of tier resets in games like WoW now. I would like to play my main more, but there is literally nothing to do - I no longer do any island or events (700g lol), I also don't do events where you MUST be online at this hour. My other alts I actually enjoy playing, but honing them beyond 1560 to "keep up with the latest patch" is ridicilous. Really sad it to see it end this way. The worst part is that you make friends in MMO but then you all drift apart because every quits at different times. I still have screenshot of early months of the game where I was having fun (because there wasn't insane 6x grind on everything)..

This Loa on was a crucial turning point and possibly chance of salvation for them….. annnnnnd they fked it up

Yeah it’s really sad, but it’s probably better for our lives going forward that this game dies. Maybe not content creators, but gamba addicts like me 😂

I love the combat in this game, it's a blast for sure... and the raids are fun the first few times but after that it just becomes a chore and the game starts feeling like a job or an obligation that you must take care of, I play games to have fun, sure there's fun to be had in Lost Ark but I'm just tired and I was hoping they would address some of the core issues in the LOAON myself, or add more content to the game horizontally.. the game is becoming more hardcore, yeah there's some nice changes here but it's not enough. We are bleeding players in all regions, we need more than another raid, a new class, or more skins.. the greed will kill the game until they bleed more players and they might reverse course... changing dailies to 1 chaos/1 guardian is a nice start, but there is still too many fucking raids a week... to be efficient.. sure you don't have to run these... but if you want to play for free, and get the most out of the game.. it kind of forces you into it.. You are in a competition with other players for raid spots etc, you need to do your homework or swipe... and seeing how the game is essentially going to be the game core loop, do homework to get to the next big raid, then farm that.. and do your homework to hit that next big raid.. rinse and repeat.. the foundation of Lost Ark is good, great combat and raids but it needs more imo.. I have been playing since launch and I've felt enslaved by the game at times, like I had to do these things to get to a bigger item level just to participate in the new content.. The fun wears off farming valtan, vykas, clown and whatever content for the 100th time... building multiple characters just to farm resources to your main/s.. its just so tiring, I have stopped my dailies weeks ago, and I haven't been running many weekly raids anymore cept with a static/friends... and even then it's still tiring... I want to get away from the game and do other things.. which I have been and it's been refreshing not worrying about keeping up in Lost Ark.

completely agree. Emergency Livestream was just another disaster too. I sincerely loved Lost Ark but i think it comes to an end just like every other games disappeared in silence like no one knows their existence. Because i loved this game i don't want to admit it dies and it really hurts. but yeah. it's time. too sad.

I quit Lost Ark long time ago. The reason was that they punish you for leveling up, by removing your ability to gain gold by doing dungeons which are "easier". I mean I went up 100-200 on level, and now I should do the hardcore dungeons? Are you serious?

Going through a really similar phase, there just hasn't been a game since WoW (original) that really stood out as an actual MMORPG. What has happened is monetization has crept too far into the genre and hollowed it out. People tend to be 'ok' with cosmetic shops but I've realized that the practicality and business with monetizing and philosophizing your game around it has led to really limited development decisions. If you have ever watched a lecture on game design and the free to play model you will understand how it uses the game itself as psychological driver to make sales. This is a huge problem, because alot of the time developers actually have huge monetization plans they have to squeeze there game into, as you mentioned, alot of "horizontal "content used to be cosmetic in nature. Now games wont give you anything over a brown scarf without it costing you a dollar - even in the end game. From them to do otherwise, is destroying the monetization formula of the game, and the art and dev team clash head with the business teams. Money arguments tend to win. I now refuse to play games with a cash shop because I just simply dont support business models if they cant make good games. If you cant make a good game , then you shouldn't be able to make them at all and your business deserves to fail. I really like your idea of revisiting and reviewing some old games. I will definitely watch along, your opinions are so solid and straight on the matter, its refreshing. The only game right now that I cant think of that is exceptional is Escape from Tarkov. I might not be your cup of tea but this is an extremely good game - it gets tiring after a few wipes and has a terrible cheater problem but the bones are there. You can tell they really care and have an EXCELLENT game design philosophy. In my opinion it is the last bastion of the MMO genre, maybe worth checking out if you havn't already. Also, check what they have planned for the future, its pretty darn good.

LA gets stagnation of content, new class + new raid + new guardian + new "honing gear" mechanic. They literaly showcases new shushire guy model for past 4 loas and still not done.

To perceive this "positively," Smilegate might be already putting more of their workload to the next MMO instead of iterating on Lost Ark, in which you're not familiar with KMMOS; they are sort of designed to have a short lifespan, like their boybands.

Imagine a game making millions on millions a year to release 10$ updates.

Lost Ark is very unique, the game has a way of leaving you with a sense of drought just thinking about going back to it to do the "chores" makes you feel miserable. I quit the game long ago, I could see where the game was headed (insane senseless grind). That's saying something since I come from League, CS and WoW lol.

Light of Salvation Card or LOS30 aprox takes 1 year or 1.5 years unless you spent thousand dollars which is biggest Lost Ark game problem.

Kinda sad that they decide to put endgame progress purely into raid, but then they decide to release only a single raid for a year.

i play lost ark since day one BUT not active at all i just play around a month then quit and come back later after months and they reward you with mass mokoko event etc. to catch up and tbh its realy fun for me i know i would quit again after time and come back later :D just play casual no stress

ive heard about korean work culture being bad and Smilegate having lack of staffs with no one applying for the job. In the end, the game ultimately depends on the developers, if they put no effort, the game dies. I think they wont have enough manpower to overhaul the game when they are gonna release it in china as well. I feel like as they are loosing players in older regions, they are getting new ones from releasing the game in new regions as it is harder to get new players in old regions. Just a cash grab at this point. Better to bail out from a sinking titanic unless they somehow brings huge list of update on next loaon like maplestory does. But the trust from players is already gone at this point...

Well right now if you are a new player you cant even start from the basics because you dont get groups even to do valtan wich is a pretty easy legion raid almost without mechs and is the 1st one, ppl keep asking to have roster lvl + relics sets wich is imposible if u dont have the chance to do any legion raids because you are a new player... the problem about lost ark is the community. The burned out ppl that leaves the game wich is normal this happens in every mmo BUT the old players not making the game accesible for new/returning players is what is killing lost ark and that wont change or they have to desing a new game with another progression system lmao because even if they gives you all the quality of live you want, eventually you will burnout anyways and the game wont be accesible for new players anyways because we have the same problem and that wont change with quality of life changes. And the ppl that think this isnt a community problem explain me why I can play the game if I have friends even with the minimun requiriments for hard legion raids and if im a solo player even having more than the minimun requiriments you will get rejected.

game is on survival mode right now they clearly saw the catastrophic reception on LOAON Summer and the measures were to give us the 1490 boost plus 1540 help on August with Akkan raid, the problem is the game design itself: LA is 5 years old for us it is 1 and a half years and they dragged us to KR practically in less than 2 years, thats is an abnormal progess for a game like that, there is no way a casual can learn all the systems the game has in a few months, if they do then they aren't casuals at all, on the other hand game has a lot of rng involved on it and a pretty much useless and non rewarded content to fill up the game. Another problem is raids and how are focused you have to be adequately geared in every aspect of the game to be competent and that makes the game so hard for the average player, the mechs of the game after valtan are way to hard in general for casuals and mokoko players i still do card argos runs to help mokokos and they still whipe on argos part 3, like the game itself after 1430 is made for hardcoreplayers or big spenders. Another big core problem is the daily stuff u have to do, generally all mmos take less than 2 hours to complete the general tasks your roster needs to progess adequately in LA and Korean finally realized that beeeing 2 and a half hours doing guardians and chaos that give u only mats as some gold portals and maybe if u are lucky some gold books isn't good enough and tends to burn everyone. My solution is to make a new game from 0, this game and how it is made has no solution at all. Kazeros is the final boss in the main history they have to end it there, there is no Tier 4 to save this game because the problems are in the game design, if u ask me they have to develop LA 2 with the same characters hopefully with 2 genders and make another progression system with another complete diferent raiding and system progression more casually if possible, because we have to be realistic majority of people spend 2 or 3 hours playing videogames, we don't need a second job in life that doesn't pay us anything, so yeah thats pretty much my humble opinion maybe not the best one but here it is, thanks neeko for be honestly since day 1, greetings.

It seems like the game is done over in the West forsure. There has to be more to do then dailies and a few raids. Same reason i quit ESO, you got dailies and the same old raids that have been in the game for years with a new one here and there. Its not enough to keep a hardcore mmorpg player like me playing.

I quit right before Clown came out. Amazon refusing to tackle RMT/botting, gatekeeping, daily chores, etc. This game is simultaneously one of the best and worst I've ever played. It will never recover from this without Gold River.

A lot of Lost Ark refugees playing D4 if ARPG grinding is your thing. Season 1 right around the corner for those worried about end game or lack thereof depending on your POV.

its not really true about MapleStory this game is pay2win in the Normal Servers they came with a server call Reboot that affect the game for good why? cuz he free2play server that you have no market and all u got is throw grinding and all thos ppl that cry on dails in LA pls i beg you go play MapleStory Reboot and see what is real grind to get to end game gear could take almsot 2years so pls before u cry on LA check other games and u will see there is worest Dails ....
