@@michaelpipkin9942 can't agree more. I know everyone has their opinion of the three but I'd love nothing more than to have Op, Ant, Jimmy and Louie sit down and just talk for 3-4 hours. Have E-Rock, Sam and Trav Dog in the back. Seeing Louie return and do all these podcasts is amazing but at the very least would love to see him do Jim & Sam or Compound.
@@michaelpipkin9942 specifically patrice man, he would SON most up and coming comics as well as old hacks. the guy was not the best with vocabulary but jesus did the guy make words WORK for him.
Louis CK has been one of my favorite comedians for quite a while. His stand up would make me laugh like no other comedian. Louie was absolutely hilarious and still is one of my favorite shows to date. I was so damn bummed when he got cancelled. Yes, what he did was weird but definitely not the worst compared to the rest of the world. It was right when he was really starting to come up big time. Thankfully, Louis, being the genius he is, used the cancellation to his advantage. He is back and he is under no one. It is really great to see him back and I was so damn excited when I got the notification for JRE with Louis CK. P.S. I’m a little buzzed.
Louis is amazing because he’s extremely intelligent and can find humor in anything and make it relatable. He’s a gifted dude. The years he lost are such a shame.
He has a strange fetish (many of us do), except most of ours happen behind closed doors. He asked permission every time and consenting adults gave him the green light. I don't think any less of him at all. I wish him the best of luck.
@@kevinhamilton9920 What sex in public? Or humiliation aspects or exhibition not sure if thats even that. Had to leave a dude because he wanted to bang in public or cars in majority. I was fine with it just didn't want to get in trouble.
Watching Joe interview vs everyone else before him, really shows how good he is at interviewing people. Dude just asks and let's them talk and shine. Feedback with genuine laughter and comments. All others, even podcasts I watch and love, can't refrain themselves from the spotlight.
Well the giant muscles are due to exongenous hormones which Big Lou clearly doesn't partake in. But also he's rocking the oldman 'balding' look. For youth, bald beats balding all day.
I grew up watching Lucky Louie. When I got older and watched his stand up, I fell in love. Glad to see him doing these interviews. One of the most interesting comedians of our time.
@Franz Fanon I didn’t see any of his stand up until I was older. I saw the show because when I was younger my family traveled a lot and the hotels had HBO. Didn’t even know he did stand up until years later.
Indeed. It was a wise move and he was the first comedian to do that if I'm not mistaken. I hope more comedians follow suit. He gets way more revenue for his work and can be himself always, which is the self we enjoy seeing so much. I wouldn't want a filtered watered-down version of Louis.
Yep back to how things used to be where people published from their own site. While it is much harder to cancel it also has issues with getting publicity. That is one thing that the evil social media does well.
For me, Louis CK is the greatest stand up that’s ever walked this earth. I can’t name you one other comic who’s entire catalog of specials can be classified as either great or straight up legendary status, a top 10 special of all time. The man is unparalleled when it comes to his comedic writing. The way he crafts a joke, and his demeanor on stage, you get the feeling of this is someone who has mastered his craft years ago and is truly in a rarified air as far as living comics, he’s definitely a 1 of 1.
I gotta put Bill Burr up there, because Bill is funny at all times. His specials are all great, his ramblings on his podcast are hilarious, and he's been great in movies and shows.
@@steelyknives6734 I use to think that for Chappelle. I feel like his stand up is more about the message than the comedy now and sometimes it can feel a bit preachy. What he has to say is good and he makes good points on the subjects he talks about but I feel like he's not as funny as he used to be because the comedy part is taking a back seat to the message. It could be just because I haven't been to any of his normal shows (cuz they're kinda impossible to get into) and I've only seen the specials which imo have been diminishing quality.
Fun Fact: In IMDb of the top 25 highest rated comedy specials of all time, only two people have 5 specials in this list. Louis CK… and George Carlin. The rest have only 3 in there or 2 specials in that list. Goes to show just how high quality and respected his craft is. He truly is the new GOAT of comedy. I’d say Carlin was the GOAT of his time. But Louis has taken the crown.
@@galicians1 Try and find more than 5 people who agree with you 😂 Ricky is brilliant no doubt, but you’ll be hard pressed to find any lists or threads that view him even in the top 20. Ricky is a goat for different reasons that’s for sure, but pure craft of stand-up and hilarity, Louis is king
@@tacooobelll5899 I know you understand my point but are trying to be pedantic. I’m saying that he stands out from the rest who have 2 or 3 in the top 25. I’m not saying they are terrible because of it, They are all time greats, but Louis is just a bit better. Cmon
Schaub is arguably the GOAT of stand up if you really think about it. Like if you really think hard about it while on molly and acid and have only ever seen his special and no other comedy specials, he’s the goat.
Louis is steadily hilarious, and he doesn’t drag on to his punch lines. This guy can talk about anything and it’s always funny. He’s also a very talented actor and he’s never afraid to be the butt of his own jokes. I agreed that his jerking stunts were wrong but I do believe he’s learned his lesson long ago, and we absolutely need him and his brand of comedy to get us through the bad times we’re facing socially. Don’t give up Louis, you’re a world treasure.
Remember insomniac with attell? I'd like to see Louis bounce around the country and visit all the historic stand up venues, talk to comedians there, owners, showcase good talent he thinks have solid chops and deserve to be heard and promoted. And talk about the history of stand up in these places.
If society is just, I know they’ll never anoint him while he’s alive but 50 years from now Louis should be seen as the greatest stand up of all time. Not only is he literally the greatest comedic writer/performer ever as well as him being a trailblazer in the industry as far as financing his own specials and putting it out there himself on his website, it was unheard of before he did it and now it’s far more commonplace.
I got to see him at a nice theater on his last major tour. He wore a nice suit and felt so awkward in it that it made it even funnier. His writing and delivery was absolutely incredible.
@@kilgoretrout413 wait, he committed a crime? OMG straight to prison with him! /s Stop acting like this guy did something to you, stop being more offended than the "victims" and stop pretending that his guy is Cosby or Weinstein.
He always let's his guests talk without interrupting which is breath of fresh air compared to other pod cast and he always knows what questions to ask and he kinda knows a little bit about everything..that's why I watch
Luke C.K. your first comedy special was the funniest thing I've ever seen. I made 20 people watch it separately and 16 of them are now your fans. We love your brain 🧠 ❤️
Remember how long Louis' road was? 2005 was first half hour. He did LOTS of writing prior to this. He got Louie in 2009. That was big. We got yearly hours as well. He did "talking funny" in 2012. He started doing things like the Garden by 2015. Even 2005-2015 wasn't meteoric. Steady but Huge. Its always been like that. was the early 2000s a marked by growth. Because he didn't "break out" like say Chris Rock I seriously doubt Louis would have understood his own success and power dynamic that came with that. He also said he was (and acknowledged this privately by 2009) messed up and in the wrong at the time. But in the moment he probably couldn't see it. So its fucking difficult. Look what he did. What he actually did. its not rape. its just not. its also not right. I REALLY don't think it should have been exposed in public as if it was a rape or as if he is in someway dangerous. The thing was not good. its moral maze territory. But we've lost maybe 4 years and I hope it doesn't have lasting effects on anyone involved but he looks like he's doing okay. I loved both his post news specials. so complicated. Hey by the way... Some Comedians who knew him professionally or friends really should have either had his back emotionally OR stayed out. There was lots of opportunists.
I watched 2 short video’s of this podcast and now I gotta go watch the whole thing. The conversation is extremely entertaining now I’m intrigued for more 😂
Bill Burr is the funniest comedian of the current era. Not just because of his stand ups. He appears on talk shows and podcasts and randomly goes on a crazy hilarious rant that becomes legendary. And then there is Mr Chapelle of course. But when you listen to Louis CK carefully, his way with words feels like some master craftsman at work. He is just above everyone else. And he gave us some of the best stand up specials of all time. A Genius who is funny. Three legendary comedians coexisting and blessing their audience with laughter.
I think Bill Burr is overrated and I listen to his podcast every week. I saw him live in Tampa and it was just okay. He's best when he's on his podcast he's more humble there.
Thank God he is back. Couldn’t give an F less what happened before. This makes me feel like the cancel culture is finally getting beaten back. Robbing us of this amazing comic for a couple years was an absolute shame.
I mean him being held accountable publicly for his wrong doings isn’t really cancel culture, Louis admitted himself he shouldn’t of done what he did, but I understand your point and im really glad he’s back putting out specials and doing podcasts cause the guy is a brilliant comedic mind
Louis could host new comedian's work on his platform also. Giving them an avenue to get exposure. This would get around the regular algorithms on social media. Only if he wanted to and believed in the comedians of course, but if he does have a good audience, it could be beneficial to everyone.
I'm happy and proud to say I bought his specials, his website is one of the most pure because you know he gets all the money. I am a Kiwi, so $7 in America is like $14 in New Zealand, was happy to pay it!, Louie is truly loved and I am glad he didn't retire or lose any of his essense.
There's a term in psychology called "projection", the mentor and idol of Barry Soetoro and Hillary was Saul Alinsky, in his book Rules For Radicals (dedicated to lucifer by the way) he teaches accuse the other side of what you are doing...everything the left accuses Orangeman of doing, they actually do, during covid the draconian "guidelines" were enforced ruthlessly by democrat governors, if Orangeman ever used the FBI and DOJ like they have been weaponized against him, heads on the left would explode, they are the totalatarian facists, even the group Antifa does the very thing facists do, attack opposing voices and opinions.
I just love Louis being back !!! I really missed him....and felt he was treated much too harshly. I think it was not acceptable behavior...but, also not something that should cancel his career in any way. I believe he learned from all that crap. He just brings me joy and is hilarious...and God knows we need laughter in these times.
I agree Cindi. I’m not even exactly sure what he did. But he has been genuinely contrite and he is too much a talent to be “canceled”. If people don’t like him, don’t watch him. But don’t ruin it for the rest of us.
This song and "Lukaz - Did You Call Me” are the two songs keeping me sane through these tough times. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together. I love you ❤️
Everyone commenting about how great it is that Louis is back. He never left. His specials have been more consistent in the last 5 years than ever before. They are available on his website for like $10 or $25 for all 7. See His YT channel for the infomercial... hilarious.
I bought Louis C.K.’s brilliant FX show. $30 for all 5 seasons. I tore right through it. Now I’m watching it again. Just an extraordinarily unique series worth every penny and more! (I would’ve paid more. But I’m happy it was only 30 bucks).
i often look for stand up videos on YT and came across a full show with Joe List. never heard of him and laughed my ass off and then found another full show which was funny as hell. there are only a handful of stand up comedians i have come across that actually make me laugh out loud several times during an hour set. i now see how involved with CK Joe has been recently, including this podcast. make sense cause CK is funny as hell. CK, Burr and Chappell are my favorite living stand ups. if List keeps it up, he may join my short list.
Writing isn't easy, pros like Louie CK, work hard to pull jokes out of thin air, they pull and pull, constanting jerking jokes until it all comes together. He could even be in his apartment with guests over, when the urge strikes the man will just go to town writing comedy, pulling and pulling for the love of the game. Legend!
Finally! Louis on Joe Rogan. Makes me wonder if mainstream media’s failed attempt to cancel Joe had something to do with him no longer giving a fuck about having Louis on the podcast. Whatever the reason, this is a breath of fresh air.
Thank you so much for having Louis on. I hate the notion of "celebrities", but Louis and Norm (well, just Louis, now), are the two people I've never met, who I value as much as people I actually love and have a personal relationship with. I know it's wrong, even in this case, but I just can't help it. They're so fucking amazing. I was crushed when Norm died, and I'm so happy that Louis is alive and still doing his thing. Listening to this episode brought me so much joy. Thank you.
"It's not like the other shit that's out... It's not a Marvel movie, and its not about a black girl with one leg, who perseveres." That sums up more and more movies the longer you think about it
Only if you 'think' for like 9 seconds. You do realize there are movies written and made outside of the U.S., right? Thousands come out every years that are nothing like either of those descriptions.
Louis did EXACTLY what 'they' told him to. He asked permission and got permission before he did anything. 'They' still came after him claiming he had power over the women because he was more successful than them. Glad to see him spitting in the eyes of the ones who tried their best to destroy him.
You can't convince me that the downfall of Louis and his decision to self publish and work independently are not directly correlated. When he cut out the middleman, all of a sudden decades old "scandles" come out.
No he was doing that for years before the allegations (which he admitted to) came out. Neither had anything to do with each other. You seem like one of those people that wants everything to be a conspiracy. Louis got held accountable for some shitty things he did when he was younger, but he’s also arguably the greatest stand up of all time. Both things can be true at the same time. He can be an amazing artist and also have done some dumb things in the past.
@@nopeteys2424 you misunderstand what I'm saying. I agree with what you're saying, and don't deny any of the allegations. My point is, even now, that the systems (entertainment, sports, business, politics...) protect people that make them money and they only seem to get cancelled when they step out of line. Louis addressed the allegations directly, apologized and on top of being an amazing comic has helped so many get their break, get work, and supported them. But their is no rehabilitation for him in some peoples eyes, and he's exactly like Cosby or Epstein.
Jesus Christ is lord. Seriously, it is all true. Please read at least three books of the Bible. The first book of each testament and one you chose yourself. As you do practice forgiveness. It is literally important’
