I went to his show in chicago last week and it was the greatest comedy hour I have ever seen. Even better than his old stuff. He killed for an hour straight. Louis is back stronger than ever!
I don’t go to shows or concerts but now I need to look up if he’s coming to Canada 😂 I think he might be my favourite comedian and he’s been gone for too long
Surprisingly few noticed his first cable series. I thought it also was ingenious. Even he speaks down upon it, like "I was just try to figure things out" but I think far higher of it. And of course, "Louie" is one of the clear all time greats.
The last thing that Louis said on this clip is more profound than people might think. This doesn't just apply to comedy, but to everything going on today, no matter the social environment.
Yea I think so too. I'm often guilty of it to be honest, criticising someone that's already being criticised enough, just because it makes me feel good
You can tell that he’s really gone back to the drawing board and done some real work on himself. Those were not thoughts from a book but thoughts through experience.
This is one of my favorite CK interviews. I love so many JRE episodes but usually, I break em up as I drive with some music, but I listened to this all the way through. I love hearing him talk, he's so fuckin funny & genuine & I'm glad he's back!
Great interview. I don't watch JRE that often, but he's definitely one of the best interviewers in the whole comedian podcast scene. Like, if you watch CK with Bert Kreischer, CK ends up being the one who interviews while Bert just talks about himself.
I love Louis so much, how much he helps depression is beyond words. High lvl comedy like he does is a very high art form, imo like fine arts, music, films, etc.... Helps us keep our sanity by tapping into our shadows. Love him a lot and wish him all the best always!
At a time when we're being constantly pressured to lock the bad thoughts away and present ourselves as paragons of virtue lest we be shunned, this man allows us to be human again.
Discovering Louis CK when I was 17 or 18 was exhilerating. I hadn't heard anybody say the things he said on stage; it felt so punk rock. I always hated the public stoning he got, and I welcome him back with open arms. Absolutely love this guy.
Sexual predators deserve a backlash. Hyperbolically calling it a stoning is so ridiculous. Some people are literally stoned for much less. He forced (stood in doorways, which he ADMITTED) and made women watch him masturbate. He used his power in the comedy world to gain sexual gratification. Which, if he did in any other industry, he'd rightfully so be fired INDEFINITELY.
@@Marin3r101 he earned that stoning???im pretty sure the females who came out against him started it with he asked permission… still don’t understand how he caught anything as if a grown woman can’t say no are leave the guys room instead of staying then when you don’t get anymore extra work to complain
Saw him live in Mobile AL the other night, killed it, all new stuff I havnt seen online. Really excited for the Garden livestream. One of the true philosphers of comedy
I didn't know the leaked set had backlash in its quality until fairly recently. That set - in its rough form, was funnier than most stand-up specials on Netflix. I showed about five people and they all loved it. Some even went out to listen to previous specials Louie did. Louie is a genius.
I remember when it came out thinking, "Oh no, the scandal broke Louie. He's not funny anymore" This was before I got into comedy myself and didn't know what an open mic was. So I was very pleasantly surprised when his next special came out (Sorry is a masterpiece). But yeah that set was not great lmao.
My opinion on Bill Burr sadly changed when he spoke in favor of the ''I drink too much KoolAid'' scenario. I put him in the trash can right next to Sean Penn and a whole bunch of wokists.
I'm happy to see you being happy for him dude. The man had a kink.. No woman actually ever said no when he asked "could he jack off". You just kinda shouldn't be asking people who work for you, but I'm pretty sure he didn't touch a woman? (willing to be wrong) and I forget the ridiculous amount of money his behaviour cost him with a Netflix deal ready which had to be cut from when it all came out.. Never shit where you eat. You food be all poopy. 🍲😂
Really enjoyed this conversation - the best bit is when he explains to Joe his position on how "exercise and watching what you ingest" is a pocket of nothing but lifestyle indulgence in the grand scheme of things, Joe falls into a kind of despression after he 'gets' it, loollllll. 😂😂😂 You should upload that part, because that is the real nugget of genius in this episode!
An awesome episode, especially toward the end when Louis was elaborating on "First-World Conversations". The best comedian working today, and one of the Greatest of All-Time.
LUKE 10:18 - "I beheld Satan as Lightning fall from heaven." Lightning is Barak.........from is O.........and heaven is bama. This is the antichrist. The total destruction of New York is on the $10 and $100 bills. It is about to happen, wake up! 911, Alfred P. Murrah, and Pentagon were printed on the older $20 bills. As many ppl here have already experienced, this guy made me laugh (and think) so much it really it pushed me through a very lonely time in my life. So great to see so many ppl in the comments (looks like 100%) recognising how great this guy is at what he does.
During his “cancelled” years he did a couple shows at a small venue near me in Iowa. It felt surreal kind of like seeing The Rolling Stones play at a local county fair or something. I’ll probably never see that big of a comedy legend this close to home again!
I saw him in the cellar in nyc when he was back for the 1st time. I was joking to my sister how awesome it would be if there was a surprise Louie set and that shit actually happened.. was amazing and very awkward at the same time.
Just saw you in Austin for a surprise show at The Vulcan Comedy Club you were hilarious. Your show's manager or something did a set too and his story about being on Mushrooms while in the Dolphin Tank had me in fucking tears. It was an honor to see you thanks for coming.
He was and probably won't ever get a production deal from a major network or studio ever again. He has to produce his recent movie w/ Joe List by himself.
Just saw Louis last weekend at the Chicago Theater and man, not only has he not lost a step, he may have actually improved during his hiatus! Don't think I'm giving anything away by saying that he actually broke out the Bible at one point! That isn't a huge cell phone in his back pocket! Absolutely the GOAT of stand up in my book.
@@QellOmnyhydrax Just zero concept of subjectivity with you huh... the only "brutal cold take" here is you making an absolutist statement out of it. Just chill the fuck out and let people have their opinions.
I first became familiar with Louis CK from his tv show Louie, and I thought that show was terrible. But since then I am continually amazed at how talented and insightful he is.
Why can't I find the full episode of the Louis CK interview anywhere? There are all kinds of clips of it. There are tons of other full episodes, why not that one?
The full interview is fantastic. I have to say, the arc of the whole discussion has that vibe of hanging out with a person you know, but the longer the convo goes on, the more you learn about how both have different views. However, they can find points of agreement. Anyways, excellent episode. Again.
Fun fact: Louis CK (in the beginning of his career )actually had a really bad thing of stage fright and there was one comedian that got him to snap out of it and do what he does best and be funny as shit and that was the legend George Carlin 🙌🏻
I’m an Independent Latino. Thank you Rogan you are king!!👑 …One of the best podcast!! I agree I saw this with my GenBabyBoomers Parents. GenX me kid at the time didn’t see eye towards my parents. They were in a different level of being busy as parents so they didn’t take in much. I had my son at 40 yrs old. You So lucky Rogan you Hit the lottery with your amazing Podcast. You are totally informed.
I remember Judd Apatow and Pete Homes going on JRE speaking against the Louis CK leaked set, I think those 2 are some of the comedians Joe was referring to.
Of course we should watch out for people with nut allergy. Of course. Of course. But maybe... if all of us in the world would just close our eyes for a week about this.... Great guy.
Been waiting on a one to one with these guys.. they’ve so much in common and imo Louis is one of the most insightful and eloquent dissectors of life and comedy. And he’s funny as fuck onstage. Can’t wait to see the live stream!
Louis we love you. You are literally taking over the top spot from Carlin and Pryor.. crazy too see never thought anyone could surpass them but you have.
So glad to see he's back ! Always thought everything was stupid so I'm so glad he's back . Hopefully other bs cancelations will return Edit: my understanding was that everything he did was between consenting adults, was it not?
@@taj334 lmfao unfortunately Cosby is going on tour in a few months soo ur not that far off lol tho he's an example of someone that needed to stay gone.
@@antonioniiJeffery Epstein, I think people were far to harsh on him. He let poor young women get a free education and a place to stay on an island or in a million dollar apartment. For all that aren’t you required to at least do some massages? Happy endings are pretty much standard practice in Thailand, and he is probably the only one to actually make both Gates and Clinton their b** *h. You can’t tell me you wouldn’t have taken the chance to see both of their faces when they were shown what he had on them
does anyone have an issue with new episodes on spotify? the latest episode dates back to 5 January. tried to open the link in the description with VPN but still does not work.
He cornered women and masturbatef in front of them against their will....he admitted to violating trust and using professional power to gain sexual gratification. You think he shouldn't have been able to not work with women after that? Well, I don't know where you WORK. but, if any boss of mine or co-worker stood in a doorway and whipped his dick out and started masterbating...I think it'd file an HR complaint and he'd be fired IMMEDIATELY.
That leaked set was amazing. The "I identify as a location" bit was one of the funniest things I ever seen, bar none. Louie is on another level, and I'm glad he's back
When it comes to comedians tearing down friends and more talented comedians to score points with the cancel mob, nothing was worse than Patton Oswalt publicly apologizing for being in a photo with Dave Chappelle.
Joe was has been friends/friendly with Patton for a while but I cannot imagine he is any longer after the Chappelle photo incident and his taking shots at Joe because he's terrified of corona virus and has become the worst type of of elite liberal mouthpiece
Patton used to be one of the best, funniest comedians alive. Since Trump was elected and his wife died he hasn't been the same. He's not as funny anymore and panders to the far left too much.
@@professorpancakes6545 like we need more and morons posting on RU-vid. Everything in your life is now void because of this post you made. That makes a lot of sense.
Just saw Louie front row at the Louisville Palace Theater a week ago. He absolutely fuckin killed. The king is back on top and had the audience absolutely howling for the entire hour.
@@claystone420 Have you read a newspaper or watched the news in the last several years? Society’s tolerance for misbehaved men is such that it does everything in its power to strip them of all their worth. So when you say he “didn’t beat any crazy odds,” I’m not sure how to respond, other than to say, “yes, he absolutely did.”
Louis is one of the all time greats, and I’m so glad he found his way back. I’ve been to a sold out show of his at a 17.000 seat arena, and I’ve seen him perform at a club that barely holds 50 - plus a few in between - and size never mattered, he’s always been excellent! Also, a down to earth and genuine guy when you meet him. Love you, Louis!
@ᴛᴇxᴛ ᴍᴇ ±𝟭𝟮𝟬𝟱𝟲𝟯𝟮𝟬𝟲𝟬𝟳 😂 ya right! Y’all see this?? Like JR would throw a # out to the little people. (No offense JR, you are also a LEGEND) Scammers/hackers just I’m betting. Just trying to enjoy life here on the JRE, leave us alone please lol 🙄
