Yes White Pop music, black blues jazz and swing have classy Universal appeal . Later Rap and hi techno not the same class of noise. Reset music industry after violent crass Diddy and handlers get locked up
I'm in my seventies now, I feel so privileged to have had the music of the 60s & 70s, I listen to the artists now and all the memories come flooding back. This track is one that brings back such good memories. Thanks for the music.
You can almost smell that era from hearing this song. I would go back there in a heartbeat. Lots of things weren't right, but overall the quality of life for most people was much simpler and better than it is now.
I agree. I was only a child in the '60's but with much older siblings I listened to and watched everything!! Nothing now comes close. So much for progress!
@@andrewfinney2791 I agree with you Andrew. It all went so wrong. But I am so grateful we had those memories of a time that will never be repeated. 66 now, ouch, it doesn't hurt much. 😊
Saw Steve Ellis in Leeds last week. He sang this and all the Love Affair hits. He still has the voice. Love to be transported back to the 1960's . We can dream can't we.
Yes, no one can stop us from dreaming. Wish there was a musical time machine, as I would love to go back to the 60s to see bands like Love Affair, that I was too young to truly appreciate (born in 1962). Sigh.....
I wished I could have been there with you in that concert! I was born in 19ze. And unbelievable, I do remember from my toddler time that kind of music, the young men in the streets who looked like that, and I loved it. In my youth I he'd that Disco stuff. Always adored the bands and music from the 1960s. I really long for time travel. I swear I go back, and this time nobody will be able to force me to leave that better time.
I thought that myself when I was watching the videos. I’m slightly too young to remember the group but I thought, the lead singer, what a good looking young fella. xx
Hey everyone lets go down to "RAINBOW VALLEY" where love is everywhere, the sun is shining as breeze is blowing gently, as the birds are singing we all sit around an just embrace the beauty of it all; being so simple and free from the world's insanity.Letting love flow upon us all and enjoying each other for being us.Cmon let's go.
Hi so sorry to hear about your mum she's waiting for you at the other side ❤mary finlayson from Glasgow my mums waiting for me what a song that was iwas 15 at the time 😢❤so your mum will be there mary from Glasgow
You know what's really funny though, when I was a kid in the mid-60's older people were saying that they couldn't understand what the Beatles were saying.
There were some bad songs in the 60's and 70's, the difference was that they had the common sense not to release them. Whereas today, they don't know the difference they release them anyway. Nobody today has any talent so they stand as much chance as any other moron in having a hit
What you clearly don't understand is that what you like then was just noise to your parents, you cant just completely dismiss music because you dont like it, music is subjective and to be honest you are just writing this to get attention from other music snobs thats cant move on
Lewis O'Neill yes you’re right, the thing is whatever music you grow up listening to is the music that you identify with, so for me and others of the 60s-70s this is our music, and in 50yrs time people will be saying the same about today’s music 🎵😎🤘🏼🥰
As a 60s teenager this song brings a mental picture album of the late 60s that can know be recognised as the beat era to have grown up in. Full employment, limited TV, that meant most went socially to pubs and clubs for friendship. Everything like hospitals, police stations, bus and rail services were available in all our towns and cities. And the range of music still popular today.
Hi Bridget ,so would I and never come back , fantastic times when I was a lad in the sixties ,miss those years so much. Love affair one of my favourite groups then .
Andrew - no way would I come back either - the music alone would keep me there and the amount of live music I saw then makes me feel quite sorry for today’s teens.
@@bridgetkirby3246 My eldest sister went to see bands like the Dave Clark Five and others, I was too young to go, I had a small transistor radio which was practically stuck to me, listening to Radio Caroline, Radio London and in the evening I would listen to Luxembourg, such great times unlike now ,hate it.just hang on to great memories.
Vanessa i like your comment ,, this guy as the most fantastic voice , hes the best , then now and always xxx long live the 60s era im so happy i was their lol Jane x🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
He was a kid at the time, beats the shit out any of today's " singers" so many 60s English singers had so much " soul" now its just are-souls. Peace people.
Steve absolutely nails the emotion in this song, you can hear that there is smoothness, there is soul, there is sentiment, there is passion and above there is a beautiful rasp sound in his voice.
@@paulcousins9895 yes it was fantastic to grow up with all this great music . I had the opportunity to see the love affair up Hanley stoke on Trent at the Top rank I was 15 at the time and Steve Ellis was the same age such happy memories. All best Paul take care x
Really feel so sorry for those who missed the 60's....what a truly fabulous era it was. There'll never be anything like it again....take me back...please
To hear the young speaker today you would think there was nothing but sexism racism and homophobia but maybe they just prefer to believe they're living in the best time - as far as music goes they're definitely not
In nineteen sixty eight I worked illegally supplying radio Caroline with fuel and water from Harwich The customs guys turned a blind eye and this record was always playing They were happy days long ago Happy Xmas
MY GOODNESS!I AGREE FULLY.IT IS MORE OR LESS WHAT I SAID WHEN I SAW A VID ON HERE ABOUT 2 WAY FAMILY FAVORITES.I SAID TWO WAY FAMILY FAVORITES-WITH A SONG IN MY HEART AND ALL THE REST.I WANT TO GO BACK TO THE 60s AND STAY THERE TILL I HAVE TO LEAVE THIS PLANET FOR GOOD.
@@leathandrubb Yes it was your comment I was replying to. Life seemed so simple back then and the music of the latter half of the Sixties was the best that's ever been produced - Love Affair, Small Faces, the Kinks, Manfred Mann. Unfortunately, we can't go back but we can keep seeing these brilliant videos on RU-vid!
CORRECT can't beat listening to the class music of yesteryear in these virus challenging times. The only thing keeping us goin cos we can't do much else. 👏👏👏👍😉
13 years old living 12,000 mile away bought all their single that made it here, my record play as a kid was the one that HMV showed as their logo volume control stuff a sock down the horn magic childhood days.
I was only 9 years old when this was a hit, I loved it then and still love it now. Steve Ellis and Love affair were one of those bands that fully captivated the whole essence of the 60s and immortalised it in music.
