Loved your "push 'em back" story. When I was in high school, played in the band for the games, and could not understand what that cheer meant, and was too embarrassed to ask! Years later, I enjoy watching football!! Puppy chow helps. . .

Not one of my favorites, but we've been making it here in the midwest for decades. I'm more of a savory chex mix person, than 'sweet" puppy chow. I use my grandma's recipe to make chex mix that I think was the original chex mix recipe that was on the boxes back in the 60's/70's? She taught me how to cook growing up- and my aunt and I swap her recipes- a lot of them are handed down from the old world in Germany.

I found another recipe last Christmas that's great for munching! You take 4 cups of Rice Chex and mix in 1 cup of cashews and 2 cups of broken pretzel sticks. Then melt 12 oz of white almond bark and pour over the dry mixture and mix it well. Pour mixture on waxed paper or parchment paper and let it set up. Cut into pieces and have it out so people can grab some as they pass by. It's called Fantasy Fudge but this isn't the fantasy fudge I grew up on. I tried it with chocolate chips and it was delicious! But the almond bark is great too!

LOL, yes, add some rum or burbon and make it a Big Dog Chow. I got a laugh out of that one. MMMM, this looks so good. I use Crispix in my regular party mix (nuts and bolts) I call it poor man's nuts and bolts. Everything is so expensive so I cut corners and just use Crispix. What is no better than chocolate, butter and peanut butter. This sounds great. Thank you for sharing. I am going to try this, I have some Crispix left over from the holidays I need to use.

We called this Trash when I was growing up. I saw the company now sells it premade called Muddy Buddies and it tastes nothing like homemade.

Since she used milk chocolate, I wouldn't use powdered sugar or at all. And even if I were to use dark chocolate, I certainly wouldn't use that much sugar. That's going to taste horrible.
