My baked beans include bacon, onions, brown sugar, mustard, sorghum molasses, crushed red pepper flakes and canned pork and beans. They bake 30 minutes covered and 15 minutes uncovered until set. Big hit everywhere they are served. I have friends who make cold baked bean, bacon and tomato sandwiches from my beans. Delish!

These are incredible! Only addition I did was add 2 tablespoons brown sugar. Best baked beans ever, sautéing the onion in the bacon grease makes all the difference. Thanks momma Paula! Love And Best Dishes! ❤

It will caramelize better without foil. Add hot dogs or smoked sausage for beenie weenies or cooked hamburger to the mix.

Interchangeable lids, because my lids always seem to get lost or if you have 2 same size baking dishes but different brands the lids won’t work for the other brand same with food storage containers and coffee mugs…so frustrating when you the whole item and ya spend an hour looking. I am an organized person, but some of my family members just put away the dishes wherever they can fit them and call it done….out of sight, out of mind…lost my mind a quite a few times.

Hey, y'all! Someone did a switch-aroo with the yellow air-fryer, & the blue air-fryer! I don't miss a beat. Nope. I'll have to make this recipe, Paula. PS. I like to take my foil off halfway through the baking time, too. Makes a big difference, I think. 🤔 Everyone have a fabulous third day of this memorial day weekend holiday. 🇺🇲

I usually make my baked beans with white beans,bacon,onions thouroughly sauted,two cans tomatoe sause molases,brown sugar salt and pepper.But that looked good for a quickie.

Usually I add honey, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and ketchup to a can of pork 'n beans, but next time I'll try your recipe with the bacon and maple syrup, Paula. Happy Memorial Day from sunny Florida!

I love Grandma Brown's bakes beans made here in N.Y.. They were the best imho. Then they went belly up once Covid hit. 😭 I've had these beans my whole life. Now summer picnics will never be the same. 😣

I use onion, bacon or hamburger meat then ketchup, mustard, brown sugar and bbq sauce. Like you said, there’s lots of ways to create baked beans. They are all good! I like how you softened the onions a little bit before baking the beans. Happy Memorial Day! 🇺🇸

Happy Memorial Day! I think my recipe changes every time I make it. I do like barbecue sauce and bell pepper in mine and depending on what I have on hand for the sweetness. I have used brown sugar and honey.

I saute green peppers and onions- add it to the beans in a crock pot. Then I chop fresh mushrooms and a few pieces of pickled jalapeños and some of the jalapeño juice. I season with mustard and black pepper- stir and let it go. You can even add shredded cheese- yes cheese- on top and bake in the oven or in the crock pot. Yummmmm.

Summertime? In So.VA, we've had two seasons for the last five years: winter, and March/April. Nice recipe. Everyone I know loves beans. I used to make them from scratch, soaking the beans, cooking them for hours in the oven with the spices, butter, molasses, brown sugar or maple syrup, mustard, and onions, but everyone had only had canned, so that's what they preferred. Honestly, unless you grow beans or you're homesteading, or you're making a very large quantity for a crowd, starting with canned beans makes sense. Hope you have a great Memorial Day.

I use brown sugar and molasses plus I add Worcestershire sauce. Ketchup and mustard are standard with a dash or two of garlic powder. Added One Yellow Bell Pepper - $1.28 each and they were out of Green - Welcome to the New Age Baby Boomer & disabled Vietnam vet

Was looking for recipes for baked beans and found yours! BTW I miss your show! I use ketchup and mustard in mine normally, plus brown sugar and molasses...Bacon of Course! My daughter and her boyfriend are moving to Savannah in July, he is finishing his PHD at UofL in Kentucky and has accepted a position in Savannah at a University doing cancer research. My daughter also is pursing a degree geared toward cancer research...she had a rare form of Leukemia at 10 years old and had a bone marrow transplant, thankfully she is 24 and doing well. I am planning to go with them when they move and spend a few days, I will definitely visit your restaurant and I hope you will be there! Any advice on rental property for someone with kitty cats would be Much Appreciated!!

They do make lids for some of those dishes but they're for storage, not cooking (plastic). I did find a silicone cover that is oblong and will fit it. It looks like a banana leaf designed by Charles Viancin. The best thing about foil is you don't have to wash it!

Brown sugar, and yes a little BBQ, not ketchup!! She's using a cheap can of baked beans, that's got nothing but tomato sauce in it! Please use a good can of baked beans, such as Bushes, bacon and Brown sugar! These are darker in color, and have so much more flavor ! Love you Paula, but, Sorry, this didn't look delicious! 😔❤️

So agree with you and always drain and rinse those beans because too much sweetness in those prepared cans. Seemed like a thrown together presentation and not appealing at all for a true southerner!!

It's certainly not summer here in Canada Paula...it's a very chilly, misty 62˚ here with wind gusts up to 15 mph. In fact I'm going to walk he dog and put my coat on. Forecsast is calling for rain. It's a great day for a duck...or Canadian Goose. Don't forget, we get out cold air from the Artcic Circle. You get yours from the Great Lakes...totally different intensities. LOVE baked beans...looking forward to this video. Wait? You're making baked beans with a can of baked beans 😫? That's not baked beans...that's canned baked beans warmed up in the oven. Paula??? I soak whole beans over night and boil them...use the same ingredients you did, sans the ketchup...and bake them.
