Barbara Mandrell- The biggest female country star in country music in the late 70s and early 80s. She was the first female artist to win Entertainer of the Year at The ACMs in 1980. She even had her own variety series on NBC, Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters. She could play steel guitar, alto saxophone, dobro, five-string banjo and bass. Her biggest hit is "Sleeping Single in a Double Bed." Other notable songs from her are "I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool" and "(If Loving You Is Wong) I Don't Want To Be Right".

Another artist to check out from the 70's and 80's is Jessi Colter. Either solo ("I'm Not Lisa") or as a duet with her husband Waylon Jennings (Wild Side of Life/It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels"). I just found out that her first husband was the recently passed Duane Eddy.

@@sha890 That's funny because my next door neighbor and best friend growing up in the 70s was a Montreal fan (So was his family), I took after my cousin who was a Bobby Orr fan, because he played hockey in a league I kind of looked up to him (He's 7 years older than me), I wanted to follow his lead, so that's why I am a Bruins fan to this day. I am also a Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots fan. I love anything and everything Boston... EXCEPT anyone associated with NKOTB. I have my pride and the line had to be drawn.

Speaking of Canadian female artists, Anne Murray is like the godmother of Canadian country/folk/pop. Check her out do “Love Song”. Kenny Loggins was a writer for it and released it in early 70’s. Anne covered it and released shortly after. Check it out please🙏🏼 😁

Country Music Academy song of the year in 78. RPM Country Award for “Top Country Female Singer and Canadian Country Artist of the Year in 79. The Country music awards kept coming for the next decade or so. It bad for someone who isn’t a “Country Artist! 😳

Hard to believe this song is almost 30 years old. First time I seen it I was in love lol. There hasn’t been a day since that Terri Clark wasn’t my favorite female artist. In fact until Lainey Wilson came along there was no one even close Girls Lie Too, Easy On The Eyes, Dirty Girl, Now That I Found You, Everytime I Cry. Gosh so many amazing songs. And her vid era remake of Brittney’s Hit Me Baby One More Time is killer.

Never hear this before and love being introduced to it here. But while this is off topic, I couldn't help notice the second or two image of a hawk landing at 1:50 (at least in the RU-vid clip). What's notable is thats a Harris Hawk. Most clips of raptors used in media are eagles, red-tailed hawks, and the occasional owl. But this species is a highly unusual hawk from the southwestern part of North America, and a good part of South America. It is known to be very smart, even hunting in groups cooperatively. Birders, and outdoorsman from the western areas are familiar with it, but many have never heard of it. I find it fitting that this bird has found ways to be smarter to not just survive, but to thrive under challenging conditions, not unlike Terri Clark's reaction to her guy leaving her.

I know y'all enjoyed The Judds, but Wynonna Judd did some solo stuff 80's - 90's I think y'all would like to. Such as "I Saw the Light", "No One Else on Earth" or "Tell Me Why". She also did a duet with Clint Black called "A Bad Goodbye" worth checking out
