Wow, I remember watching this at the time, and recording it to watch again and again.. That tape has long since gone, never thought I'd see this again. And the quality looks decent as well. Pet Shop Boys ended up being Christmas No1 with their version of Always On My Mind.
I’ve got this on dvd which I transferred from vhs. I recorded it on the night it was aired and later when I got a dvd recorder I was thankfully able to transfer it so hopefully I can keep it for years to rewatch frequently, which of course I do. It’s great that someone did the same as me and was eventually able to put on RU-vid! It’s a wonderful show. I think I may even have put it onto a memory stick as well-I’ll have to have a search among all my old memory sticks. It’s such a pity it wasn’t made in stereo as it’s only the sound which lets it down. Fantastic musicians and singers though and certainly takes you back to a great time in music history. Seems so long ago now……
What was your reaction when you first heard the Pet Shop Boys version of Always On My Mind? Apparently it was so popular with people and that's what spurred them on to release it as a single. But I can imagine a lot of people wouldn't have liked it as well.
@@ismayb754 I thought it was an okay version but wouldn’t have raved about it at the time, or purchased it, but I can appreciate it as part of this show.

Haven’t watched it all but so far Meatloaf, Blue Moon of Kentucky, and Heartbreak Hotel are the good ones. Suspicious Minds sounded like he was 2 seconds off from the music
