I agree! Thanks to both of you for reacting to I WISH from a brilliant songwriter and artist. Even those who cover his songs get bathed in his genius. Speaking of which, do you know what I wish? I wish you would react to the energetic and rockin' cover of Stevie Wonder's song HIGHER GROUND, as performed by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I think you would both really enjoy it. When you do it, please react to their official music video. So fun! Btw-the bass is killin' it in that song!

Stevie Wonder's "Songs in the Key of Life" is one of the greatest albums of all time as recognized by Rolling Stone Magazine, Billboard, and a variety of other music experts. There are a multitude of iconic songs on this album. Not only did "Wild Wild West" sample this, but Stevie's in the video with Will! For my money, the five albums Stevie recorded between Music of My Mind and this Songs in the Key of Life are up there with the greatest continuous musical output of any artist ever. Maybe only The Beatles from Revolver to Abbey Road can equal him.

This, along with "Superstition", are my favorite Stevie Wonder songs. The instrumentation is bonkers, the story is so relatable, and it's just plain fun to jam to. What more can you want? And yes, Will Smith did sample this song for "Wild Wild West", which was featured in the movie of the same name that starred him. It also sampled "Wild Wild West", the 1988 rap song by Kool Moe Dee. If I had to nominate your next Stevie song, I would recommend one of his minor hits in the 80s, "Go Home". It's been one of my dark horse favorites that I always seem to return to when I'm in a Stevie mood.

I have this CD in my car and tribute albums of over musicians performing their interpretations of his work. This album is a masterpiece. I was fortunate to meet him while at university and attend his concerts later that day. It ranks as the only concert I left early. I sadly had to leave because I had an exam at 8AM and a concert that began at 8PM was still going at 3AM! It was epic! He had a full band with horns, background singers, percussionists, and dancers, especially for the song "As" which was the last song I saw. I had front row seats for it. This was when "Part Time Lover" and "Overjoyed" were popular. There was no internet, of course, so I camped out for 16 hours for tickets.

No one used or played the synthesizer (a toy) and after those albums, everybody played a synthesizer. No one ever caught up to Stevie and that Stevie style influenced musicians for years. If you want to go down the rabbit hole, check out some Little Stevie Wonder "Fingertips Part 2"...some of the best harmonica you'll ever hear! Synthesizer and harmonica...genius!

He's such a sublime and amazing artist. Imagine he was signed to Motown at age 11 and performing as "Little Stevie Wonder" singing, playing harmonica, bongos and keyboard and had a number 1 single at age 13! His humanitarian service is similarly admirable. He is a gift to all of us.

My friends took me to Hitsville for my 70th birthday this past October. We got to the Echo Chamber and the guide invited anyone to sing into it. No one stepped forward. As we were all walking away, I tapped her on the shoulder and said, “I’ll do it .” I belted out, “Everybody say yeah!” The group of 20,or sang, “Yeah!” I only did the first refrain, but it was so cool 😎. Stevie is 2 years older than me, so seeing him sing Fingertips on American Bandstand made me a life long fan. Love you, Stevie Wonder 😎

Living For The City must be the album cut, never a live version. Live they cut out the arrest scene and aftermath.

Rumor is bass player Nathan Watts was called back within the hour after a late night recording to put finishing touches to this record. He was so pissed off that he turned up the pre-amp and actually got an over drive bass tone that made it to the final track!

It took Stevie Wonder 2.5 years to compose and complete recording Songs in the Key of Life in the studio. Stevie's Song in the Key of Life and Marvin Gayes What's Goin On are two of my all-time favorite albums.

I’m new to reaction videos. Listened to many people, however yours are the best by far!! We are in our middle 70s and a lot of the songs you do are from our youth. My husband had several bands in the 60s&70s, recorded several records. You are the one we choose to follow! Thank you so much!!
