@@harishsahastv1014 Yes, I always run in heavy traffic. The seat height is an advantage as I can see above cars. I don't ever touch the ground until full stop e.g. at traffic lights. Balance is everything... I mostly do paved roads and highways, the quality of roads matters. Tried gravel road once, was great too. Riding uphill is ok as long as I can tip-toe the ground to balance when stopped. The bike is awesome to ride gymkhana as well. Opened that pandora box for me.

@@melslam7071 I cannot really tell... The front fork traverse was put a couple of inches down. And the rear shock preload slightly changed. That's it, a 5-minute job. With the factory setting I could not tip toe at all

1-2 inches won't really matter. Just be mindful of speed bumps and approach with caution. When you get into 3-4" it definitely affects your exhaust hitting things.

Jai, any time you lower a bike you change the riding dynamics. That being said this kit is the closest thing to keeping it stock and lowering the seat height. Are you trying to go lower?

I had the same issue with mine, I ended up cutting off the sensor magnet that T-Rex welded to the kickstand, smoothed it out and repainted it then installed the factory sensor in place of it, works perfectly now

I just purchased a 23 390 in America. Can you post this part number. Not having lots of help figuring out how to lower the bike. I am 5'5. I have been told to either do what you did or try changing the seat.

You should be fine at 5'5" but people lower it because they get that flat footedness or close to it which let's you stop confidently.

@@MaxamillionEd no. It's got the preload adjusting spring. Comes with the tool...like coilovers on a modded car.

@@benitezjoe183 oh but that will adjust the soft or firmness of the ride, technically it can lower a bit but if you're a lightweight it's negligible

@@MaxamillionEd yes. But I noticed when I moved it up it raised it. It's got 6 or 10 clicks...when I moved it 2 clicks I was on my tippy toes...so it makes a difference.

That's possible but you could risk bottoming out as there's less fluid in the shock to take the compression. Also, that would be a messier job. It's easier to just loosen the four bolts in the front and let the tubes slide through the triple tree

@@carmendieppapizarro3284 You need to reduce the rear shock spring preload to min. From the factory they are set at either 4 or 5 out of a max of 10 and this is crazy for such a tiny light bike. The rear spring is big enough to be on a GSXR1000 or an R1!!!!!!! I have no idea what KTM were thinking.

If they made a KTM kit, I would go with that one, but the only one I could find was one for the Adventure.

I just made a detailed video on Lowering the front on a Yamaha r7. The process is the same.

You should never lower the front without lowering the rear. But the same is not true for the reverse. Bike rides fine without lowered front forks.

@@MaxamillionEd 3:31 Your preload is WAY too high! KTM put a monster spring on this small bike and I have no idea why. I'm 5' 10" but only 29" inseam and when I took delivery of my 2022 390 Duke a month ago it had 5 clicks of preload on the rear and I was tippy toe like you show here. As well as that it had no static sag and no sag at all!!!! Wtf??? It was absolutely rock hard and if left on that preload it would have fired me off the bike if I hit any decent pothole. The tool kit includes a rear spring preload adjuster tool and extension. All I did was back it down to min and it was instantly lovely and supple with the sag I wanted and I could simply flat foot it as soon as I got back on. I have put 300 KM's on it since and the ride is so smooth and it just carves the twisties. The bike itself has zero vibrations and is just a delight to ride. PS* Do NOT lower the front forks through the yoke. This is not necessary at all. Cheers!

I am looking at duke 250. Bit to tippy toeee for roads and condhere. 5. 7 but light. Does adjust back suspension gone you a couple cm lower sitting on it. You seem to be happy it hasn't altered handling too badly. That was a Concern

2" is only possible with the older dukes and this kit. I don't know of a kit that lowers the bike any further.

Yes, but an inch won't make much of a difference

When you lower the rear with the same kickstand the bike will be more upright with less lean angle. If it’s not adjusted to a shorter kickstand the bike will easily tip opposite of the kickstand lean with a very slight push
