The idea of going to school where we will be working is logical. We make connections during law school that are professional and personal: all this will be a bonus for the next step, no question. Plus, it would be so much more enjoyable. People need to get out of their limiting beliefs! I love Nathan for this. he is 100% right about that. You are impressed by a " full ride" where you don't want to go. Turn it around! Apply everywhere and get only what you really want and don't get locked in the belief of full ride being a limited lucky one time shot.

It would be helpful to find out what are the criteria used to rank the law schools. For example, is " price/ value" a factor, is " weather" a factor, is " professors' evaluations by the students" a factor., etc. Maybe there are things I do not care for and others I do care. Ranking is important if we know the parameters and the change of the parameters for the last 10 years for example.

Law school rankings are relevant to the extent that they reflect employment outcomes and bar passage rates of different universities. Choosing a low ranked law school might seem like a good idea of you want to be in less lucrative areas of law. But i do however advise that you look at employment outcomes and bar passage rates of different universities. Many lower ranked law schools, especially outside of top 50 (T1) universities often have employment outcomes which are below 50%. Bar passage rates are not great either. When choosing lower ranked law schools or law schools in general there are IMO three categories of law schools. Category 1: universities with excellent employment outcomes and bar passage rates. Category 2: universities with not so great employment outcomes and a bar passage rates, but still could be worth a shot. Better to be avoided, but you could make the most of it. It will require a great deal of effort. Category 3: these universities I advise against. Employment rates and bar passage rates are EXTREMELY bad. Getting a high GPA and LSAT score can help you get into universities that are in the first category. If you don’t and go to the second there is a shot you could still succeed but IMO it’s better to be avoided.
