It's really heartbreaking cause he really wants to love her but he thinks he's incapable of love. But deep down inside he also knows that's not the truth
@@johnbunsi5438 no they don’t. “No, I don’t wanna fall in love” look up the lyrics. Original is by Chris Isaak although my personal favorite is by Three Days Grace.
@@thenoobwhokill6174 agree to disagree I guess. I looked up the lyrics for several sites just in case I was wrong and even relistened to it just now, every verse says “no, I don’t wanna fall in love”
@@elexian7246 I knew the song, but I loved the lyrics changes for this situation. Tom actually sang this version at a convention sometime between season 4 and 5, and since then I've been hoping it made it to the show.
As much as I love Tom Ellis' voice, I think what makes his performance really great it's the fact that he's acting while singing. We don't see Tom Ellis here, we see Lucifer and his suffering. This episode is one of my absolute favorites of all the seasons, but I must say whole seasons 5 and 6 are simply amazing. I finished it all and still can't say goodbye.
I’m frustrated they aren’t together properly and it’s being strung out even longer. No one wants to wait and we have waited too long. Just get them coupled up. They already love each other.
Couldn't agree more, that's why I sincerely hope that they will not renew the series for another season after season 6, because no one could play Lucifer except Tom Ellis. It just wouldn't be the same.
@@nidd0w614 their really shouldn't be another season after 6 anyway, season 5 wrapped up with him becoming god and season 6 will probably be him struggling with that but eventually overcoming it and that's where the season will end. The rest will probably be him being god for multiple millennius until he does the same thing as his dad and retire and their really isn't a plot their
@@cheifchull8946 I don't wanna complain but I haven't finished season 5B yet so that was a spoiler, although it was kind of expected I guess. I don't fully agree with your statement because there still is quite some potential there and when it's a question about money then producers will always find a way to renew the series with some stupid plot although everything has been said and done already. I just hope that they will end with a great conclusion so that there is no need to add anything.
Season 1. Sinnerman Season 2. All along the watchtower Season 3. I will survive Season 4. Creep Season 5. Wicked Game Some other Songs that are also cool: Knocking on Heavens door, Air tonight, Eternal Flame, unforgiven,
@@gabe2946 who knows, maybe the devil isn't what humanity makes him out to be. I mean, he's an angel after all so he can't be that bad right? in my opinion people just use the devil as someone to blame for their sins, & please don't ridicule me for that, if you or anyone else doesn't like how I feel then keep it to yourself, Please & thank you. We all have our own beliefs/faiths & I choose to believe the devil can be good so, I mean..
@@gabe2946 he’s actually not wrong. As a believer. We’re actually responsible for our own actions even if there is some persuasion. Even God knows that. As evil he is. He didn’t used to be. In the end as he made his mistake without anyone telling him, we did as well here in this life.
This gives me goosebumps. Song was made years and years back but the line "It's strange what desires Can make foolish people do" was absolutely made with this show
Literally, chills when this man sings. I usually don't care for series that have a musical episode, but I was glued to my couch for this one. His piano playing and singing just brings tears to my eyes, truly an angelic voice LOL!!
this is a performance to remember. the voice, the song, the acting, the camera, the light, the everything. if three minutes can make you inherit the pain of a celestial lifetime, then you met perfection.
The guts it takes to simply cover an iconic song like this... then to have the musical and dramatic chops to take it a couple of steps further. Brilliance!
Tom is incredibly charismatic and his voice also very charismatic. It's his timbre that does magic. He maybe doesnt have big range but that timbre and amount of emotion that his voice contains that's what make him so unique. Lust, desperation, joy, sadness, power, weakness, desire, emptiness, confusion, fortitude, loneliness, love...Tom could convey all of these with his voice! Such a gorgeous man and super talented acted with incomparable charm. There would be no Lucifer without him. Ugh still cant believe the show is over now. Man, gonna miss it so much 🥲🥲
The emotions, pain, his voice and plus this choice of song I can only say I love it. This scene made me remember all those previous seasons and Lucifer indeed is best series, no one could do this scene better then Tom Ellis❤
Strange how this video now makes sense when my wife left along with my son. How we loved this series , now its just about bearable to listen to this song , hits home. 💔 how life changes in a blink of an eye , how music can mean so much.
So well done, this man is such a talent! It’s refreshing to see this level of performance technique on television instead of all the “mindless reality crap”, standing ovation Sir!
Its because he cant fall in love, so hes singing that he wants to fall in love instead of the original lyrics. I actually think its sounds better this way
Well he changed the lyrics because it’s going into lucifers personal problems ( yet again what episode isn’t lol ) but it shows that he wants to be with Chloe he just doesn’t know how and he doesn’t feel worthy of her
The dude is such a massive talent. I had chills when I watched this scene and again watching this video clip. He was perfectly cast in this role and I will miss the show dearly.
I'm so happy. This scene has purged Ross & Rachel from my mind whenever I hear this song. I mean I like Friends, but LOATHED that relationship. I'm so glad I'll think of Lucifer when I hear it now.
Wow the songs are so beautifully chosen and of course so beautifully sung. Every lyric resonates with Lucifer at the time in the series, and of course the emotion is portrayed elegantly through Tom
Lucifer became God at the end because he sacrificed himself out of Love. First time he ever said Love to Chloe. God is about love and the moment he confesses love he becomes God.
I keep seeing people say he became God because he sacrificed himself for Chloe, but he's done it before? He died for her twice before this. and he's constantly jumping in front of bullets, knives, axes, etc... For her. Why is this time different?
@G when he takes bullets and axes, he will go back to hell, where he is home and king. He got out of there before, he could do it again. But he was banished from heaven, and he would burn and wiped out of existence if he ever returned, so was sayd. And he would sacrifice his complete existance for a human. While he had back up options before.
@@ocinchevy but when he dies and goes to hell he gets tortured like any other damned soul. he only escaped because his mother rescued him, hypothetically anyone can escape if someone helps them, but it hardly ever happens. Wouldn't nonexistence be better than eternal torture?
Absolutely phenomenal voice and range. I love how they did Lucifer's musical side in this show. Tom can sing right along with the best of them!!! All hail the King!!!
Creep, Sinner-man, Eternal flames and now this. 🤍 As his father said in the episode, this man is blessed with a great voice, indeed. #Petition for a separate Tom Ellis album.
I love this show and the cast amd writers are obviously amazing. However whoever decides on the music / covers deserves the highest award they can get. They manage to sum up the scene and the emotion perfectly every single time.
