Hallo 😁Maneskin, are an italian young band from Roma, they won Sanremo festival and Eurovision Song contest this year, whose name is a Danish word meaning moonlight, chosen because Victoria the bassist of the group is half Danish, became famous in Italy in 2017 when they came second in the final of X-Factor Italy, to me they are always liked from the first audition, they are excellent musicians and have made many songs both in English and Italian, totally different from each other, ranging from metal to Raggie to ballads always obtaining excellent results, if you love hard rock the best songs are "l wanna be your slave" or "in nome del padre" or "morirò da Re" or "lividi sui gomiti" or "chosen" or "fear for nobody", while if you like the songs that have a text definable as pure poetry , these songs are : "Coraline", "torna a casa", "vent'anni" " le parole lontane" so I suggest you see them with English subtitles, while if you want to truly appreciate Damiano's singing skills and Victoria, Thomas and Ethan's skill as musicians you should listen to the live versions of the following songs "back to black cover live", "begin" cover, "amandoti Cover live" or "New Song live", try to hear you will not regret it 😁👍

Hello, nice reaction! One thing I've noticed gets lost in the translation (not the translator's fault) is that he's addressing a woman. "Sei rimasta sola sulla barca" ("You were left alone one the ship"). "Sola" is singular feminine in Italian. It's not haters he's addressing. "Si, brinderò te, perché so che anche se mi hai odiato, canterai il mio nome" "a toast to you (singular), 'cause I know that even though you (singular) hated me, you (singular)'ll end up singing my name". Who this woman could be, is open to interpretation. A former lover? Maybe. Or even something more abstract. It could even be the music industry. The lyrics fit. There are other small things lost in translation, which are impossible to accurately translate. E.g. in "segni sulla faccia" the word segni can be translated with marks, signs, or even bruises. The Italian lyrics are more ambiguous in that regard. "con le mani giunte": there's no explicit reference to praying in Italian, giunte indeed means pressed together, clasped, but "con le mani giunte" 99% of the time refers to "with praying hands", so Italian is less ambiguous in this case. She might hate him, but she'll be back, and she'll be begging. To be fair it's simply impossible to translate lyrics: you have to explain them. It's like poetry. You can translate word by word and all poerty is lost or write a poem in your language that expresses the same feelings and concepts but then it's loosely related to the original. Damiano's lyrics in particular tend to be evocative and poetic. They need to be explained rather than translated. The translator did a terrific job, but something is bound to be lost and something is bound to be unintentionally added. Not to mention cultural differences. All reactors I've seen struggle with the ending of "Coraline" if not Italian. They simply lack a piece of information. As an Italian, every cemetery I've seen in my life was surrouned by a high wall (like 3m/10ft tall). They can be wide and strong too, often used as tombs, for the inside. That's how we build them here. So there's a strong connection between cemeteries and walls. This goes over the head of most people who don't know that. In most countries, cemeteries are open or surrounded by a fence at best. If you have react to Coraline (I strongly suggest you do), try to keep that in mind.
