His cross of the final witness is probably the most damaging to the CW's case of the whole trial. This is why people sometimes have suspected Lally is actually secretly scuttling the case. So much of his lengthy case seemed to benefit the defense.
@@silikon2this. Im also hoping since he also wanted the trial stayed until after the fbi investigation was done, that this is some epic pettiness of "ok, fine, but if youre gonna make me do this, ima show just how incompetent and biased the investigation into KR was." Im probably wrong, but i *try* to give people the benefit of the doubt.
Lally fried my brain. The entire Canton PD, Mass State PD, etc are all corrupt in my eyes and I feel awful for anyone in the area bc what chance do you stand against anyone if they know the law enforcement there or are law enforcement. I’m still blown away at how sloppy the investigation was into the death of one of their own. 😔
I never put it into comments, but that was something that I thought about a long time ago. There's so much information exchanged in this trial, I thought perhaps I missed it being said! I had a visual image of tail light pieces being picked out because the impact would have been so strong! I'm glad it was mentioned and so clearly to the jury. Certainly no genius here. I think it's just logic 101! Glad it was mentioned clearly not only for us but especially for the jury.
Yes, the two independent experts made it clear that no way was John killed by a car, no matter how you position John and imagine the impact. Karen must therefore be innocent. The end.
I have been a police officer for over 34 years and admittedly pro prosecution in most cases. I am also a senior investigator for fatal accidents. This is the worst investigation i have ever examined. The behaviour of the investigators, evidence handling, scene preservation, witness handling etc were less than professional. I will be amazed, amazed if the jury dont find the defendant not guilty.
@E-magineMySurprise I don't buy the poor weather conditions story. If the police could not conduct an investigation, they shouldn't work in Massachusetts. It snows every winter, and victims deserve investigation that won't cause doubts on a jury. If the defendant did it or if it was just police incompetence.
@@E-magineMySurprise incompetence is key. I have never hear of releasing a scene and then detailing officers to drive by every day to see if any more evidence presents itself. Thats just redicioulous. I hold a scene until i am satisfied i have everything. And thats just the start of my criticism of the case.
“You can’t deny the science and the physics”. Karen Reed is extremely lucky that the there is a Federal investigation. The “second Grand Jury” gave the defense so much evidence including inconsistent statements from the McAlberts, butt dials and rehoming of phones. It also gave two independent experts who gave testimony not only for reasonable doubt but also for innocence.
An ordinary citizen would not have stood a chance against this CRAP! I wouldn’t have believed it was possible if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes!! The levels of corruption are staggering! The ME report says manner of death is UNDETermined!! In Texas, the DA has no authority to file charges for a manner of death that is UNDetermined- regardless of the evidence 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤫
I will say this now and whenever I can, let this be a lesson on why a proper police investigation is crucial EVEN if you think it’s a slam dunk case!! Proctor should never be trusted again! I don’t believe John will ever get justice because of him. Shame on you Proctor.
There was a wonderful interview done on another RU-vid channel by someone who is not a lawyer but they were able to get a retired Massachusetts state trooper. The retired State trooper mentioned that Proctor is being watched for this very purpose.
In my mind she hit him but the law enforcement investigation that was done was so shotty that Proctor single-handedly screwed this up that she is going to get away with a drunken hit and run with a dash of aggravated assault
@@adamwood619Sorry, but how can you still believe that after these experts seem to conclusively exclude a vehicle strike as a possible COD? Not trying to be rude. Genuinely curious.
@@adamwood619I'm also curious. The only reason I ever considered 'she hit him' as a possibility with those injuries was because the prosecutor told me he would prove it. It was the same with the defense's allegation of conspiracy/corruption. There was evidence of conspiracy/corruption, but I see virtually zero evidence that this was a vehicle crash. I can believe there was foul play in the investigation based on the evidence, but as far as I can see, the only way to believe there was a collision is blind faith in Lally. What have I missed?
As a wheelchair user: Thank You Dr. Rentschler!!! As a manual wheelchair user you have no clue how hard it can be to propel yourself when you have certain co-morbid conditions!!
I am NO doctor and I am definitely NO expert when it comes to all the cell data... With that said... I have had 43 years to develop common sense and a bullshit-meter. If I was on this jury... the defense would NOT even need to call a single witness/expert or even give a closing argument because this case was OVER after Trooper Paul 💯
If you’ve watched this whole trial you’ve probably spent as much time here as Trooper Paul spent taking his little classes so that would make you an expert (at least by the CWs standards)
It was over when Proctor searched the phone for nude photos and texted that up the CoC, it was over when Proctor released the crime scene to the public but then returned the next day to magically find evidence from the vehicle he had previously impounded, it was over when the reversed and re-edited video of the driver-side impounded car was presented but the opposing camera was dark, it was over when the homeowners with the dead body in their yard disappeared their dog, phones and house. It's been over so many times.
I accidentally backed my Jeep up into my Hubby about 15 years ago. He was standing by his work van and I think my flip flops got caught in the accelerator and my Jeep FLEW backwards about 20feet. His work van was parked backwards, with the rear van doors open. Thank GOD he wasn’t right in between the two vehicles as it would have taken his legs off! He was just to the side of the bumpers so the van door clipped him and sent him FLYING all the way to the middle of the street. He was knocked out cold, flat on his back. Ambulance came and took us to the hospital, they suspected a possible hip and/or back injury, luckily none! We went home later that night, he was incredibly sore for about a week. My Jeep was totaled. What he didn’t have was any head injury, and he hit blacktop! It was an awful experience, I felt horrible for it and it could have been so much worse. Something about this case just never sat right with me, hoping Karen is found not guilty and that John’s Family finds peace.
Very glad that your husband was not seriously hurt, what a harrowing experience! Thanks for sharing it though, it does give some very interesting information.
The Feds are. THIS CASE. from the bottom as far as it goes. The local/ state police, probably the DA's Office, and possibly even to the Judges to see what and who are involved. Why Federal? Because it meets all the criteria for RICO. Organized Crime. Continuing Criminal Enterprise.
Hi Karen that must have been so scary! I’m glad he was ok. It’s so easy for accidents to happen. Don’t ever wear flip flops driving again. In Australia it’s illegal. We can drive barefoot but not with thongs,
I completely agree 👏🏽 I am still terrified that there’s even one person on that jury that sides with the prosecution. Emily breaks down so much for us, but who knows how the jury is interpreting everything 😰
Honestly, you never know. We as people can watch that and say. She's definitely gonna get acquitted. But unfortunately, jurors are unpredictable because they're people
Today’s expert witnesses were top notch. The crash daddy’s were awesome, but I so appreciate the experience and knowledge of Dr. Sheridan. I’d love for him and Dr. Russell to give a lecture together 🤓🙌
Wolfe is smiling when talking about that cannon 😂😂 they had a lot of fun with that one! This is the stuff you show your kids so they can see the possibilities! "This is the type of cool job you can have if you study physics!"
@Enjoythepour my brother got to make one for his hs physics class. I was so envious 😂. Mine just did a dumb egg drop from the bleachers. If I had known more about the different fields physics led to, I'd have taken a completely different path!
I can’t believe they took this to trial after reading their report. They should be sued for wasting peoples time and tax payer money. Also, pain and suffering for all of us that had to listen to him drone on and on and on.
@@darlingdeb7010he is so clear, too. With him i finally have good confirmation that the skull fractures traveled to the front from the back. Its also amazing what happens when lally isnt asking hard to follow questions and the witness can just answer
Im beginning to think he ran into the flagpole, which gave a small cut on the eye and bruised his hand from holding the glass, stumbled and fell onto the fire hydrant. Wouldnt explain the arm, though, unless chloe or a stray got his arm and thats what made him stumble. Either way, i have major doubts a car was involved at all.
Lally, sir, this is what happens when someone maks an actual report with actual PROPER documentation... he wouldn't need to have done it himself. Thats. The. Point. Of. Proper. Documentation!
the toys get bigger and the smiles do too. the man made a drink glass canon and gets to shoot it for science. I wish we could see reconstruction video attempts of them trying to match the damage, cause you know they were having fun. Also absolutely agree with the idea that it doesn't matter if the car hit only his hand, he wouldn't have gone flying if it was from the side. It's like sticking your hand out the window while in a moving car. Yes the wind is going against you, but its not enough to pull you out of the car.
What I find most aggravating about Lally and the CWs witnesses is that they don’t even know that they don’t know anything. They double down and I bet they aren’t even embarrassed or aware of how embarrassing or stupid they look.
I'm also convinced that they don't even understand what the real experts are saying and are just thinking " man, why is everybody so impressed it's all just mumbo-jumbo"!
So the state wants us to believe that this man was struck by a vehicle, spun around, thrown 30 feet and the cocktail glass stayed with him through all of that.
@@cookiealexd123Problem with that is he was spinning in that theory, and if a strike off center of mass caused him to go 30ft, I see no chance that his arm stays bent while spinning. We can lock our muscles in place, but I don't think we can do so with enough force to accelerate the end of the arm to keep up with the spin.
@@AmandaLeigh1004and underneath his body. Just magically happened to be out of his pocket and hands. Not to the side of his body as though it fell away while he was pirouetting. Just placed under his body.
I was struck by the demeanor of certain members of the O'Keefe family as the judge announced the close of evidence. They have been visibly mocking and laughing at Karen and her lawyers pretty much the entire trial, so much so that most judges would have issued a blanket admonishment of the gallery and announced that any further such reactions would result in removal from the courtroom. But when the judge made that announcement and they gave the all rise to leave the courtroom they looked visibly defeated today. I think they have been patiently waiting for all the smoking gun evidence the prosecutors told them was coming, and came to the realization that it's not coming and they're probably not getting a guilty verdict regardless of how they feel about Karen or whether she did it or not.
I understand his brothers outrage and grief which to me is misdirected considering what we heard but at the same time he shouldn’t have been allowed to sit there and glare at Karen and make fists under the table.
@@francescawilliams8177 They seem to be so desperate (understandably) for clear evidence of what happened to John, they want Karent to be guilty just for closure, and not for justice
I gotta believe the prosecution thought KR was going to settle and she didn’t… Then they added more charges and she STILL didn’t take a plea deal. She is lucky to have the time and money to take this to court with a talented defense team and I think it’s really important that she did. It highlighted all the inept cops, investigators, prosecutors, and forensic team that Canton used. It could help other innocent people in the future.
@@katiehettinger7857 I didn’t know that but I would too if my daughter was charged with this messed up of an investigation. No matter what, imo it has shown us Canton has some crooked cops.
See also "you built a cannon?" "Yes, it was pretty awesome" total moment of 2 geeks geeking out over their shared interest for sure, and it was lovely to see.
I loved seeing him & Dr Wolfe bond over the cannon 🤣 Lally is so boring he was salty... "with the whatever u built" 🙄 sir can *you* build a working cannon?! Lmao
This is so frustrating. Reconstructionists: "The damage is inconsistent with a car/pedestrian collision." Lally: "Are you aware that multiple witnesses heard the defendant say 'I hit him,I hit him, I hit him'" This is a debate I have had with several commentors on various videos because many people seem to believe that the investgation stops at a confession. As if historically there isn't a countless number of cases involving false confessions. I just don't understand people discounting evidence and scientific data over eyewitness testimony of a "confession". Not to mention the lack of investigation by LE. It feels like the CW is trying to either gaslight the public or they are lacking in common sense and should rethink their careers. I spend so much time trying to understand what the CW expected to achieve with this case because it is hard to imagine they didn't realize that almost everyone involved look really bad. Best case they seem lazy or intellectually challenged. Worst case they look corrupt.
Your right, but I understand being nervous for her. You can never tell what will go on in the juryroom. Also, they didn't hear all the stuff we did outside of court.
I have only been able to watch here and there, but caught that Dr.'s testimony today. WOW! Based on what I heard from him, NOT GUILTY!!! He was an awesome witness for the Defense. Game over!
I came in to this as someone who is very skeptical of conspiracy theories and as such found the idea of a pedestrian hot by am angry girlfriend to be likely. After watching all of this trial I could not find her guilty. I don't know what happened...which is just sad.
Maybe it was those disgusting text messages. I never believed she was guilty . The prosecution is never gonna to get passed the house not being searched. It’s absolutely ludicrous. They also can’t recreate the car accident. So sorry, John didn’t fly through the air holding a glass and a cellphone. “It just did “- that quote from a so called expert will stay with me forever.
Review the ring footage from O'Keefes House. Both the tail lights are glowing red as Karen leaves to look for Jon at 5 am, now how can that be possible if all the red lens was left in the snow outside the Albert house at 12.30 am??!!
I have been screaming this for the past weeks! The CW also had 3 witnesses who said that they saw a “crack” in the taillight. How was it shattered on the lawn at 34 Fairview???
They should have reenacted that with the same car but without the light busted out & with to prove that this is what it would look like with and without the light busted out. And it was not as bad as it was at the sally port.
And Kerri Roberts testified that her taillight was cracked (and a piece missing, but maybe i don’t remember correctly) and another policeman testified that it had some damage, definitely a small piece missing not large parts of the tail light.
@@TracyB-dn7jyAll we need to do is compare the Jan24 to the Jan29 ring cam videos. It is clear there is an area of damage @5am on Jan29, but that area is only about 10% of the surface of the taillight on that side. The Sally Port photo shows about 90% of the plastic missing. Even if I believed that KR did hit JO, I also know there was egregious police misconduct wrt taillight evidence. The side by side photos don’t lie.
I get so much anticipation and excitement when the defense calls witnesses who testify based on facts and evidence. Unfotunately, Lally comes out and sucks out all of my joy.
I wanted to mention 2 things: 1. First expert who built the glass-yeeting cannon said that the force required to mimic the damage to the taillight plastic ALSO caused damage to the bits inside the plastic as well. AFAIK, there was no damage to KR's taillight beyond the plastic cover. 2. The brain "swelling" that's talked about isn't brain inflammation. It's to do with blood being released from vessels inside the brain or adjacent to the brain tissue. The brain tissue volume doesn't in itself change so much as blood within the brain tissue starts to take up space and the skull is an enclosed vessel. As blood continues to be pumped to the brain from the heart the volume of blood in the brain tissue, and thus the enclosed skull, increases and the intracranial pressure increases. That pressure begins to squeeze the brain tissue, crush it in effect, plus it can displace it, eg with a bleed on the right, the brain is shifted left and pressed against the left side of the skull. When it's severe enough, the brain tissue is eventually forced out of the bottom of the skull into the brain stem and top of the spine, called herniation or "coning". That's what happened to JOK according to the ME
My sister, who has a PhD in Neurobiology, found John's eyeseyes swelling at two different times, and the tated up CW brain specialists disjointed explanation of the damage to his head not plausible.
It is absolutely horrendous that it takes this much money, a federal investigation, and Dr Russell wanting to help for an innocent woman to go free. Even if you think she’s guilty this entire case it shit!
Yes there's a lot of things that could have happened here. What pisses me off is that the people who DO KNOW something, even if it isnt the whole of it, are withholding that information whilst simultaneously buttering up John O'Keefe's family. WHEN will his relatives part ways with this gang?? Would a 'not guilty' of the non DUI charges be enough to get them to think differently?
They'll have the eye-opening revelation that their own circle murdered him and faked the entire thing. Which is a difficult thing for people to grasp HOW BADLY they've been betrayed and lied-to by the actual perpetrators.
What I took away from this was that if I were a juror I would rightfully believe that the CW doesn’t want me to hear science regardless of if it supports the CW or not. They are opposed to the jurors hearing facts about science. That says a lot.
Cw would be getting serious side eye from me for have put Trooper Paul up in front of me as an expert witness, especially after Wolfe and Renchler. Not to talk about wondering why Lally didn't use them if the State of Massachusetts was interested in the truth.
So true! I felt sympathy for him but now i think they are acting so ignorant. Anyone with common sense would know she did not commit this crime!!!!!! It literally angers me that he can be this “stupid”!
Oh I think they want it. I just believe they're not able to reach the truth because they've been so gaslit by the McAlbert families and others in Canton. I imagine its impossible for them to wrap their heads around the possibilities.
It appears John's family doesn't actually want the truth because it's not tidy, just easier to blame the girlfriend who they may not have liked in the first place
After watching the whole trial, I want to know how many other ppl have been falsely charged or convicted and how many bodies have turned up on lawns or in trunks of cars or otherwise
I don’t understand why the CW wanted to pursue this case. I still like my theory that it was a way for the CW to get the knowledge of the corruption in Canton to be publicly exposed. Weak prosecutor, incompetent case leader, no evidence whatsoever. What were they thinking?? If I was a resident of Massachusetts I be pissed that my taxes were spent this way. 4:24:09
You make a very good point about exposing the corruption. I have been continually shocked that it was allowed to come to trial with such dodgy witnesses for the prosecution. There should be outrage in the commonwealth about the cost of this to taxpayers and the stress and trauma to the family and innocent parties.
This is what I have come to think, too. If this is truly why Lolly wanted to bring this to trial, I respect him for it. He is putting everything on the line.
I did hear that it would be difficult for another person to be tried after this (maybe it was from LYK). So I do wonder if this attempt could be to make it difficult to prosecute anyone else in the future since they can point the finger at Karen. I dunno if I think that's why the decision was made but with all the shadiness going on I can't rule it out unfortunately
@@Atalinaythat has crossed my mind too. She didnt do it, but they pin it on her, she gets aquitted bc of such a badly done "investigation" so they can always say "we know she did it, it wasnt our fault the investigation was so bad no one could convict".. so accident or intentional, no one ever finds out the truth.
I don't know who pisses me off more🤔 Proctor, Lally, or Paul😤 I'm so happy this trial was televised so the world can see the complete incompetence of people that can easily steal your freedom.
I had to call my mom & tell my husband since they know how invested I've been in this trial another Pitt alumni (not to mention Carnegie Mellon in which you have to be very bright to attend )Dr Rentschler was in this trial! And he grew up so close. I found that so cool! He brought it home in my opinion. It was THE BEST testimony of this trial in my opinion. He explained so concisely and easily to this jury it could not have been a motor vehicle accident. Finally. As for what happened to Officer John, it's sad that his family and his loved ones may never know.
Replay crew here and seeing the time that Lally spends on questioning the Irish doctor is ridiculous, especially after already listening to the defense questioning of him. I don't know what Lally thinks he's going to get this doctor to say but spending that much time he no doubt at least tries to discredit this very well educated and experienced doctor.
The defense witnesses providing More answers than prosecution really showcases just how poorly they handled the case. It is such a disgrace and disrespectful to the victim .

These are TRUE, disinterested professionals. The facts are the facts and that is their testimony. It was so disappointing to hear the Medical Examiner say “it is likely and unlikely at the same time.” She was toeing the line instead of just stating the facts.
Loved watching the expert testimonies today. They had and kept my full attention! And Kind of off topic, you have the absolute best laugh ever!!! Makes my day 💜💜
Lally is literally creating reasonable doubt by suggesting the different ways JOK could have been killed by KR running him over. Does he know that's the job of the defense, not the prosecution!?
I became extremely PRICKLY towards comments regarding her as “the girl” and how “lucky” she was to get to question the medical witnesses ! Respect to women lawyers or face the wrath 🤬
That certainly makes sense as to why she took the more medical witnesses, like AJ took these physics ones. Prior knowledge helps articulate the right questioning to get better answers.

I am so excited Wrenchler said the bellybutton is the center!! As a dance teacher, for pirouettes, of which round of applause to Jackson for his beautifully demonstrated pirouette complete with spotting, I would teach my students to line up their bellybutton above their knee and ball of foot of standing leg, along with perpendicular hips like a shelf to hold a cup of hot cocoa, to find their center for their pirouettes. Along with many other components. Also, when we would practice staying in character without laughing or breaking character by doing staring contests with different faces, which is very fun and very helpful, if the class is mastering not laughing or looking away, I would say something to try to break their character and make it harder… my favorite word to say, which almost always worked, was BELLYBUTTON🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
