Cool! Thanks! The idea for the test is to measure the phases of all the camshafts that you have! Including that Glyoxal A 9. The results are very interesting. I think many people will like it.

On a design like mad dogs or streched ruckus that have the top end of the engine on open air/space then shrouds are not needed. But when you have a standard scooter with full fairings having the engine covered then the shroud is a must
@GhettoWrench
@GhettoWrench 4 месяца назад
Did you watch the video? LOL. That was the whole test. It is actually needed.
@stoneheartjp13
@stoneheartjp13 4 месяца назад
@@GhettoWrench first of all, yesi did watch it. second here in asia weve been doing shroud and fan deletes for so long i dont actually need to watch it. I know from experience that the fan and shrouds are only necessary "if the scooter is fully covered in fairings" since no air will circulate in the top end without it. But for a measly 150cc and as naked a scooter as the maddog in the video it doesnt actually need it.. Try looking up custom scooters or better yet drag racing scooters that have more power from asian countries specially thailand if you want proof. Dont just argue about nonsensical things about other peoples input just because its not the same as yours. I dont need a profile with 2 wheels just to prove that i know what im saying. LOL!
@GhettoWrench
@GhettoWrench 4 месяца назад
@stoneheartjp13 its all good brother. This is how we learn. Ya there are some sick ass fast scooters in Thailand. I figured I would get a faster bike without the fairings but I didn't. I would prob have to re tune it though. We do a lot of hot florida city traffic riding so figured it was safest to keep the fan.
@MangScoots

crazy that the fan broke and the fins snapped off, ive seen that those fans are worse than the stock one but i wouldn't expect that. also at 2:30 you were wondering if being up north would help with the cooling. im up north in PA and we always run our plastics but in winter its not like we ride anyway haha

So far the only Glixal part I bought for my scooter was a belt, which seems to be of decent build. With what riding I have done it seems to have been holding up well. But my machine is also stock and last summer was just constant rain so I wasn't able to get much riding in. I've been eyeing a lot of the upgrade parts on the GY6 Racing site. The most I'd like to do is better clutches, some final drive gearing and eventually some better tires. Other than that I don't care if I can hit 100mph I just want some slightly better cruising speed. Maybe a better shock for the rear in the future. :)
@GhettoWrench
@GhettoWrench 4 месяца назад
The rear shock makes a big difference on how nice they ride.
@Slane583
@Slane583 4 месяца назад
@@GhettoWrench Indeed. The problem I find with a lot of the nice shocks I look at is they always seem to advertise them as being for GY6 swapped Rukus builds. My bike is a clone of a Honda Click and is one of the few China clones that comes with something bigger than the typical 150. They call it a "200" but it's actually a 170 stock and is equipped with EFI.

@@GhettoWrench It's a fun bike so far but the seat design makes your butt fall asleep if you want ride for good extended times. But I think anything that isn't in the same class as the Suzuki Burghman will make your butt fall asleep anyway. I've gotten it to 70mph as is but that was going down a very steep hill following a friend at full throttle. Normally it'll top out at about 60mph I think, it's hard to tell when the speedo isn't accurate. :)

The cooling fins are sideways unlike the cooling fins on a air cooled cg engine which cool by the moving forward airflow,,,,,, so if you only ride for a 1/2 an hour without a shroud you'll be fine but after that your oil will creep past 212°F being that the cooling fins are designed to cool sideways.😮

Engine temp should be measured by a temp gauge connected to a thermistor ring on the spark plug (the temp sensor ring replaces the crush washer on the plug). Temping the valve cover does nothing, the exhaust is only going to provide useful temps if you install an actual EGT sensor. Those red fans are garbage; The blades go in the opposite direction compared to stock fans; I hear nothing but complaints about them. Cooling shroud and fan are essential unless you put a water-cooled cylinder on the engine.
@GhettoWrench
@GhettoWrench 4 месяца назад
I know Those temp numbers were meaningless as an engine condition measurement. Just comparing to see which was hotter. And I ain't putting an EGT on this thing. LOL
@jeremyhope6869
@jeremyhope6869 4 месяца назад
We run our 2 strokes at 300* + EGTs usually around 1200* is usually safe tune. Aluminum cylinder and piston, running around 11k rpms. Don't see why a GY6 could not handle the same Temps.
@GhettoWrench
@GhettoWrench 4 месяца назад
For sure. And I have no idea what actual temps I'm at. Was just using that cheapo temp gun to compare but doubt it is close what an actual temp monitor might say.
