I’m really going through it. They say it is my rock bottom but I am going to the gutter. I am so heartbroken from losing my soulmate that I can’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. I can’t see myself being at peace or feeling joy again. This has changed me so much. I used to be a people pleaser and now I can’t even entertain that quality anymore. I really am in a functional freeze. There has been so much trauma that I don’t even know where to start healing. Somehow I’m still here and still breathing. What kills me is how my brain randomly replays certain scenarios that are so painful and also holds on to the what if’s. It’s a blessing to be able to say I fell in love but also a curse because of the lack of reciprocity. I just feel so many emotions so deeply.

😢My home is a battlefield. My mom and dad got a divorce several years ago and my mom took off and left us. ( Me and my brother and sister. 3 of us) since then my dad got re married to a woman with 3 kids of her own. Without drawing this out, ever since this woman moved in with her kids we have no privacy. My dad's not allowed to spend any time with us. We are no longer able to get any money or us anything in the home without her complaining about it. While her 3 daughters can sit around on there butts and sleep with as many guys in my dad's home as they wish. One has had a child and my dad is stuck raising the kid. He is 15 now. Since then I have gotten married and unfortunately after 20 yrs have also gotten divorced. I allowed it to affect me more than I realized. Now I spend my days missing my ex wife ( that cheated on me) and my daughter that she took away from me when she was only 9 yrs old. It's been more than hard. It's been hell on earth.

I married my high school sweetheart and we were together for 11 1/2 years. Around year 9 he started becoming emotionally abusive, manipulative, and deceptive. I begged him to treat me better and did everything I could for him and even started therapy to better myself. My self esteem and confidence were shot. I developed anxiety symptoms I'd never had before and had no self respect. The last year he started having an affair and left me for that woman. Which killed me. But it was then that I started recognizing my worth. And i can confidently say I did everything within my power to make that relationship work. This speech really helped ♡ After we separated I started grad school and accepted a new job that had doubled my salary. My ex husband who was still wth this woman started reaching back out again asking to see me and saying how he regret everything. Waaaaaaaay too late. Know your worth 👏 accept what happened, move on, and make choices that are better for you and for your future ♡ EDIT: WOW. Wowowowow. I never would have expected such a response and so many comments! Thank you all so, SO much. I really appreciate it! And I'm so glad my story has been so inspiring to you and I hope it helps you through your own tough times 💕

I am in the first part of this story. Been with my .. ex fiancé.. since 14, I am 22, so 8 years. Very serious relationship, moved in at 17 together, bought a home together, dogs together, a life together. Our entire relationship though there have been problems. He hid a woman from me 8 months ago and even though he didn’t cheat I just can’t trust him, on top of many other bad things. And now I am toxic too, I have been thinking ab going to therapy, getting on meds. But the thing is I’m only toxic with him. I am a nurse, everyone loves me, I work with the elderly and that sounds conceited but they all really love me. I excel in my job. I have no issues except in my relationship so I left before I started changing myself like that. I moved back with my parents. This is the first day and I am stressed and idk if I can last long. But I made the first step. I don’t want to go back and end up being the second part of your story. I’m sorry that happened.

I wanted to thank you for inspiring me. My ex of 1.5 years left me and I chased after that person foolishly when they had already mistreated me throughout the relationship and through the end. It's been 6 months and I still get upset (mostly angry) sometimes over how I compromised on my boundaries with this person, but God is preparing me for something so much more in this breakdown, I can tell. I've been through a lot of pain in my life, but I refuse to carry brokenness and hurt into a newer and more fulfilling relationship. Thanks again and you're beautiful and you deserve goodness. Thanks for sharing. I hope one day my ex will too turn around and regret losing something wonderful.

I think sometimes people are either jealous, or they don't want to make the effort anymore, so they let misunderstandings ruin the friendship instead of talking about them. Some people have a lot of hate stored up inside them for whatever reason and tend to take it out on others. It's on them, not you.

Separated from my husband yesterday. Married to him 8 years, gave birth to our baby just 6 weeks ago to find out he has been having an affair for majority of my pregnancy. I spent most of my pregnancy alone in our home while he was with her. He told me he didn’t want to be with me and didn’t want the marriage. He now regrets it after the mistresses found out he was married and stopped talking to him. He is now alone and I am choosing to leave with my child. That happened to my cousin. The exact same thing. She was heartbroken but she chose to leave too with baby. He regretted it - like they often do. She took him back for a very short spell (I think she was scared that’s why) and realised without trust there’s nothing and she walked away but this time - never looking back. It was hard but with good support around you, you can and will do this. I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this. Stay strong for you and your baby. You’ve got this. You deserve so so so so much better xx

Wow, I’m sorry to hear that. That’s very sad. After 10 years of relationship and 5 married my husband left me. A few days ago he called me to say he’s not coming back home and he broke up with me over a phone call! My daughter feels abandoned . I’m broken and lost. He’s was cold . Showed no emotion. So, If you re-read what you said 3 month's ago....not sure if you'll actually see what you said. But, it's a complete contradiction. There is no such thing as MASTERING "BEING ALONE" WHILST BEING, FEELING THE MOST ISOLATED... That's not mastering it... That's Trying to Master it...Either way, Don't EVER STOP TRYING! I pray to remember this when I get upset about people I love doing the things they do that hurt: Leaves on a tree 🍂 "some are there to just take from the tree and throw a little shade". Sad, but the wisdom of that Madea statement puts so much in perspective for me that I'm able to get out of bed and make it through another day, live to love another leaf, and stop trying to keep the dead leaves from falling away. Thank you, Mr. Perry for giving this world Madea ♥️. She literally saves lives 🙏🙏🙏

Sometimes those that we need to let go of are blood family. It’s not always romantic interests. It’s hard but I’m letting go of some of them because they don’t have my best interest at heart. You can love someone and still let them go.

Yes, I had to let go of my older brother due to his dangerous toxicity. This was over ten years ago now, after out mother died. I miss him everyday though, but it was for the best.

Let go of anyone who treats you in a way that causes you pain. It could be a friend, spouse, mother, father , or any relative. No one should be allowed in your life who causes you pain.

So much wisdom in this. My ex is so relatable to the leaf/branch analogies. We’re both middle age. She’s dependent on her momma, who herself is on the way out. I stand on my own two feet & strive each day to better myself. Stay strong 💪 y’all and no matter who you are, just continue to work on You and your own life.

This brings back something that happened to me. There was once a therapist who I thought had empathy and compassion. I was struggling with OCD. In the end, she had a third party involved to protect her career from the mistakes she made. I was so hurt that I never wanted people to go through the same thing. It was hard to trust therapists because I felt they would not believe me. But they did. Today, I write for mental health organizations, hospitals, and I write small posts on Twitter each day to uplift others. I also have 3 articles published in magazines. And working on a hardcover self-help book. I also received 2 Awards and a Mighty Leader Badge. Succeeding and surpassing this person was the healthiest revenge. I tell you all this because good things happen when you focus on your life. I finally had a purpose. God wanted me away from this toxic person, so I can focus on making people and myself smile.❤.
