I didn't grow up too exposed to her and so I'm not really a fan. But that song "Frozen" is one of my _idiosyncratic favorites_ that I can't really place into any of my many preferred genres of music. I'm a naturally bright-hearted guy (with a secret, underlying *"Wrathful **#Magneto**" complex,* hence my angry-sounding YT folders 🤫). But that song forces me to feel so barren & bleak inside. AND I LOVE IT! Since it's a stark departure from my "default enthusiastic mode." There are ONLY 2 other songs that elicit this reaction from the crevices of my soul- All Saints' _The Beach_ and Keane's _Bedshaped,_ that I've collected so far. Although these 2 kind of progress to a more hopeful tone by the end, akin to a main character surviving a serial killer in a horror movie. 😱 Madonna's _Frozen_ just keeps me feeling so "empty" inside until the end . . . and that's saying a lot since I'm inundated with multiple vivid thoughts & feelings every single minute, being an above average empath & fiction writer and all. All the more making 'Frozen' such a unique addition to my music catalogue. A welcome feeling of barrenness, if that doesn't sound so weird. What about you, friend? Do you happen to know other songs that sound like 'Frozen'? I'm curious. 🙂
Among the less famous ones: To have and not to hold Spanish eyes Forbidden love (1994) Inside of me Thief of hearts Waiting Secret garden Rebel heart Bittersweet Live yo tell Words Rain Paradise Gone Easy ride Devil pray wash all over me You’ll see Rescue me The look of love
Honestly i love most of her songs but the ones that really stand out to me were ghosttown_ hung up_la isla bonita_masterpiece and love spent and papa dont preach and power of goodbye and forbidden love 2005 Yeah these songs i cannot skip they r amazing 🤩
She might be muted on radio, but she just finished a huge world tour that was widely successful and sold out shows in the first day that the tickets were released. There were over a million people in her audience in Rio.
You won't be able to state any facts when it comes to this lady. There are literally no male singers who are achieving half of what Madonna is doing while being her age, but she'll keep on repeating as if ageism affects women more... Victim mentality...
It takes a lot of strong will and sheer DEFIANCE to be over 40 in the entertainment industry! What Madonna, Janet, Cher, Kylie, Anastacia, Mariah and the GREAT Tina have/had done is BEYOND commendable! ❤
Look at Madonna now. Playing the biggest concert of her life. Kylie winning her second Grammy. Cher at 77 hitting 1# on Christmas. Longevity is real and traditional media is the one element that's now, obsolete.
The music "industry" (plus the film industry) love the "next young thing" because these kids don't know any better and can be abused by the industry. The older artists (who survived it) have figured out the BS, and the "industry" keep them at arm's length and tries to discredit them.
From what I've heard, Radio 1 is notoriously ageist. Apart from not playing any Madonna and Kylie Minogue songs. They refused to play Cliff Richard when he hit Christmas number 1 with Millennium Prayer in 2000 when he was sixty and also refused to play any Robbie Williams songs once he hit 40.
They dont truley see her power in this case madonna can always have a great message and music about fun topics They r just blinded by rumors and shit talks that other celebs did on her
There are very few artists I respect as much as Madonna. She could sing, dance, and wrote most if not all of her music and pioneered the way for newer Pop Stars. Me Against the music is a great track. It’s like the passing of the torch
Thank you for pointing out the ageism that is rife within the entertainment industry. I have always loved what Madonna stands for. To me, she embodies the spirit of rebellion, freedom and tenacity. You may not always agree with her politics and publicity stunts, you may not even have to like her music, but no one can deny the fact that she has broken so many barriers and blazed the path for subsequent generations of pop singers. Personally, I fell out of love with her music post-Confessions, but it's only because I don't really listen to pop music anymore in my older age. But I truly admire her continuing dedication to making new music, her relentless work ethic, and her ability to reach out to new fans. This only confirms that she is one of the greatest pop singers of all time.
This is just insane, these ladies are all in my opinion greatest artists, it would be better to control how old the oldest politicians can be to rule a country and not how old the oldest artist needs to be for his or her music to be played anywhere !
I subscribed for more, just because I’ve never received an answer with actions from a content creator, and you delivered. So, thank you my friend, wish you success with this project. Well done ⚡️
@@divatalk9011 ok, I thought about it, what about, what happen when a pop girl speaks her mind? Are they aloud to have opinions on serious subjects, such as politics, race or religion? / that was just an idea hehe, have a great day! (Thinking about Madonna, the Dixie chicks, Beyoncé, and apparently T Swift right now)
@@divatalk9011 yes, I thought about her, but I thought it was too old for you to know hahaha, even though I have no idea how old are you lol. Gonna check it out later. Thx 😜
I’m actually 33 ha, so I was both the same year she released Nothing Compares 2U, as a fellow Irish person though, I seriously respect her for being one of the first to talk about the horrors of the Catholic Church in Ireland
@@divatalk9011 Haaa no I just really agree. So maybe I'm biased and you're based. The way people still talk about older female musicians and artists is WILD.
Yeah I don’t believe for a second that record exec said that. Can we name some big-time pop diva of the last fifty years that didn’t show their behind in some music video that’s not Adele or arguably Taylor Swift? It’s just not in their interest to tell her to button up like a good Christian woman. I’m sorry but it’s never railroaded anyone’s career before so I don’t see why it would be recommended now. Maybe it’s because they want to attract a bigger female audience, I can believe that being the reason.
I think Madonna fell into the trap of becoming a parody of her former self. However the industry has done everything it can to block her airplay for the last ten years too
This is probably the best comment on here regarding the subject ngl. The others are bringing up politics and respectability BS. Madonna just got too caught up in the shock. No ifs ands or buts about it. The industry also has their part to play in it too. Unfortunately Madonna’s shock antics sometimes dug her own grave.
So you think Madonna is a parody of herself because she remains more or less the same person? That’s such a fallacy… it’s the same as saying that because she’s older now she may not be the same or act the same she did in the past. Pure ageism!
@@TheFVSousa Madonna hasn’t adapted. It’s the same tired thrusting and shocking content that looks desperate now. Cher and Tina Turner still could be exciting in their 60s without looking desperate, nothing to do with age
@@divatalk9011 shes was very special ,very gifted Artist. Respected females in Music...there are plenty. Im a huge Kate Bush Fan since i was little, KB mastered her Albums Like no one else. Not only Singer, songwriter And dancer..she impresses me AS a producer so much because thats also a Differenz skill. And of Course i respect Madonna very much, shes just great änd brillant.
You don't need proof, facts or anything to claim your ideas. You just need to "feel" like it's true and you are selling "Your truths" everywhere. But no. Ageism affect women in music industry less nowadays than it affects men. And those are facts. I hate the fact that you keep on spreading the same lies and people are buying it.
How many 65 year old men are played on young radio stations? She didn’t fight for other female singers when they weren’t allowed on radio when she was young! Now she as a problem with it. Your old get over it
Madonna suffered by her own curse that she'd made right from the beginning of her career, women's liberalism.. she just has to go through these consequences that those she'd identified with and fighting for during her entire career.
Nothing wrong with womens liberalism. There’s a lot of liberal elderly women that age gracefully and are sweet as hell. Betty White is living proof son. Madonna just got too consumed with shock value. Though I hate to compare the two Gaga herself was quite the shock artist aswell. But she didn’t really take the Madonna route and keep on doing it. She branched out into a more serious lane and became one hell of an actress. After looking at Evita it made me realize that Madonna could have been an amazing actress. She just didn’t have the power to choose good scripts like she did her music.
@@BozeDoesGodsWork certainly it's nothing wrong with women's liberalism. What I'm emphasised about Madonna is that her choosing her own subject of liberty in the way that itself is a curse. Same case with Lana for an instant. There's will always be consequences of that which they have to just go through it in a good or another regardless.
They are too old and greedy, just pack it in, you hard your hits and glory days now buzz of and give the younger artists a chance. I am 55, I was around and seen them mostly Madonna in her day, the others like Cher and Minogue are not in her league.
nope, it's the personality, just look at mariah and kylie and janet and paula they're all nice people their fans will always supports them. and for our once beloved madge she thought her die hard fans were stupid thus deserves to be mistreated and then those that's been ripped off by her too like Jellybean Benitez, alanis morissette, willi ninja........the list just goes ON AND ON AND ON it is down to how bad she was as a person not ageism !..........sigh
No, the issue isn’t Madonna’s age, the issue is that her music is objectively BAD and has been for a while, her last good album was Confessions 20 years ago. Others like Kylie and Mylene Farmer keep making good pop albums, and being sexy without being gross about it.
Nah not all of her new music is bad. Ghost town is fucking underrated as hell and should have gotten more play. As for her antics I just see her as one of those wild crazy elderly women. There’s nothing new under the sun. Women who age like Madonna exist everyday. The type of elderly women who try to be hip and do all the trends and stuff like that. Though as for her sexual antics they are getting a bit out of control. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to keep up with the times and have some youthful energy about yourself.
